How can I post pics?
Everyone does...I feel so left out!:rotfl2:

Chrissie

I took Cheryl 15 min to talk me thru signing up for the photbucket account, and sizing the photos. After that it is a cinch. She gave up on me when she was trying to get me to post a cake...:lmao: So I am still pirate: ing them for now.

We just arrived home, and Angelina has decided to go to school tomorrow morning. It was just too much for her to handle tonight.

One of the first things Angelina saw when we entered the funeral home, other than Ryan's siblings, was the picture of her and Ryan that was taken before going to the Homecoming Dance. When Angelina saw the picture she lost it and fell into my arms sobbing. We made it to the front of the room OK, until she saw Ryan's mom. The coffin was closed and had a large picture of Ryan sitting on top, next to the flowers from his parents.

Once we paid our respects to Ryan's parents, Angelina asked if we could leave, she cried a good part of the way home. I'm hoping now that some healing can start.

Thanks everyone, I felt your support and prayers this evening.

Andy, this is a very difficult thing for her to deal with. Just keep giving her the love and support she needs.

Sil, the first time we stayed onsite was around 1978. We stayed in the Contemporary and every place we went out popped Captain Hook. My DD was 4 at the time and was traumatized every where we went. She hated him Your story reminded me of her absolute terror of that character. She started to walk hididng behind us at one point.

We could use some positive thoughts and positive energy tonight and tomorrow. Hazel, Angelina and I will be heading out shortly to attend Ryan's viewing. Angelina said it all depends on how she does tonight to see if she attends the funeral with Hazel and I tomorrow morning. I know there will be a large number of young people at the viewing tonight, so I hope that helps Angelina open up a bit more. I know she has been holding a lot of her feelings inside.

I'm so sorry Angelina has to go through this. We have had several terrible things happen to young people in our community over the last few years and the grief just takes your breath away. My heart goes out to all that have been affected by this tragedy :grouphug: :grouphug:

Skip the coffee and go straight to the pirates punch!

Chrissie

OH Man, I am going to get in so much trouble with DH on this trip (did I mention yet that DH doesn't drink) Nothing like an in-house designated driver, that's what I always say.....

Thanks MaryAnn . . . yes it was a really long trip but you would be surprised at how quickly the time went by . . . especially the 14 night repo . . . seriously, you will see next year that 15 nights isn't nearly as long as it seems once you are on the ship and so many things are going on!

Unfortunately, I am sure you are correct. It is never long enough when you are on The Magic. Trust me, if it wasn't for DD starting school I would surely be considering a back-to-back after the repo.

hi everyone! we just got back from disney a few hours ago....it was sad to leave there!! sorry i missed the meet at DTD...were there pics posted?? we had planned on going, but decided after seeing all the pirates going to the pirate and princess party, that we should try to get tix. So, we ended up going to the party...and it was sooo much fun!!
oh...we DID surprise the kids with the trip. never told them til right before we loaded the car to go to the airport. they didn't believe us at first, and then when they realized we were serious...they couldn't stop jumping up and down! it was such a great, relaxed trip.
anything else happening on here? i haven't been around in such a while, there is noway i can catch up on posts. any recaps?

Welcome Back, Shannon. I'm so glad you were able to pull off the surprise for the kids. I can pitcure all the hopping up and down. They must have been sooo excited.

Darn it! If you'd gotten 8084, you would have been right next door to us!!!

I definitely won't be making fun of you. We went Aft for the very same reason!

WHAT a BUMMER!!! I would have loved to have you all as neighbors.

I also loved that DH would just slip up the back stairs to get breakfast for DD and myself to have on the verandah.

OK, I'll promise to brush my teeth before trekking out for the hot water(good idea after all the rum punch) if you brush yours :goodvibes

My brain isn't working b/c I could have just SENT you a Word file rather than copy/pasting. Doh. It was a long weekend and I just injured my back trying to cut the lawn with a broken lawn mower (self-propelled portion broke while DS13 was 1/2-way through so it became REALLY self-propelled. And as soon as my back is feeling better, it is going to be self-propelled down the driveway to the trash pick-up).

Maybe now I can convince SWMBO to let me buy a riding mower?

J.R. - Hope you feel better soon. Perhaps you could increase her shoe budget as a bargaining chip :rotfl:

I am in the process of trying to convince DH to buy me a snowblower. Because of day-care I cannot hire someone to do the driveway and I have to get out at the crack of dawn to shovel....oh, my aching back (in my best Redd Foxx impression) :goodvibes

Maybe our only photo with all 4 of us on the ship.
and BTW we are late seating on the TOAL. We are waitlisted for the early. But may take ourselves off the waitlist.

Great pitcures :thumbsup2 ...thanks for sharing.

That's why I'm thinking of sending the kid home and staying on for an adults only cruise. Already booked the 5 day after the repo, just in case this works out.

Was wondering if anyone else experienced this:

I booked a future cruise to grab the 10% discount. My original thinking was to get a placeholder and transfer the date to a 2009 cruise. But now I am thinking I may actually take the cruise I booked New Years 2009 (dec 27, 08 - jan 3, 09).

My question is when I go online and price the cruise and compare it (less 10%) to what I go on the boat.. the online amount is less by like $100.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Sil, the discount only applies to the cruise portion. Doesn't include transfers, port taxes and insurance. If your online amount is less-call DCL and ask them to adjust it for you. They have it in their system that you booked online and should have 10% off.:)

Andy,

It's most likely been said already - but I wanted to say this must be an indescribably difficult time. Losing a close friend of this calibur is such a heart rending experience. It challenges you - how to best proceed - and I would speculate that's very difficult to KNOW how best to conduct yourself. Rather, I'd like to suggest that you and your loved ones will emerge from this in time. Time. Time will tell you it's reached closure - I think. And for what-ever its' worth - keep a watchful EYE on your daughter. When you think it's behind you - remain vigilant. I'm no lil' G when it comes to technical training - but I remember what it felt like when folks close to me were lost.

Anyways - again I'd like to offer my hopes and prayers to you, your family and Ryans' family.

I think there's nothing worse than a funeral service for a teen or young adult. It's just so crushing. Poor Angelina, and all of Ryan's friends and family. I know that he wasn't doing anything other than trying to help, but I really always hope that the death of a young person makes all of their friends realize that they are not immortal....and that they choose the wiser path for their lives when faced with hard choices.

Stace,

This is so true. I see young folks sometimes doing really silly and sometimes wreckless and unwise things. In fact - the same thing goes for some grown ups - as today I had a fellow make a sharp and illegal right hand turn onto the freeway through my blind spot off my left shoulder behind me - and try to PASS me whle getting on the freeway! Only they turned - tried to pass and then skidded with screeching tires as they braked and turned AWAY when they realized they were not going to make it. All the while this was going on - I was clueless as they were in my blind spot as I turned onto the freeway.

When this clown in the JEEP pulled around me - he pulls forward and merges ahead of me - then pulls to the right to pass the next guy - only to be blocked by another car pulling off the freeway too. Then I pass him on the left normally while he;s blocked on the right (he was trying to pass people again in the exiting lane fromthe freeway - illegal again) and I got a 2nd look at him - he was middle aged - maybe late 40s or early 50s. Sorry to see that as I sooner expected to see a young person full of youthful inexperience.

Anyways - I would not wish any harm unto anyone. And I can only hope that tragic events help others avoid the same.

Oh well.... it's tough to sayor think much when tragedy comes to visit sometimes.

Tom, I thought of you today while driving to work. Billy Joel was singing Innocent Man. :goodvibes
