Hello,
I'm just checking in ta say hello. For unknown reasons I'm in a huff... maybe cuz my spouse is in a huff. She has something agitating her (someone else at her company is clearly NOT doing thier job) and so she was annoyed - and thankfully she's not venting AT me ... but just annoyed. Oh well...
So - I'm sort of watching Over the Hedge on HD cable. We've seen it before but it is kind of cute ... and in HD. The turtle just had all the BBQ implements fall point first towards him - missing.
TOmorrow is probably going to be a long haul day for me. Lotta driving to get around to my "chores".
If anyone has anything nice to say - I'll enjoy vicariously living your "fun" day while I try to forget about the stuff that agitates us over here. We're not much into the Disney ornaments since we are rarely at home for Christmas - although this year will probably be a year we do stay close to home for the holidays. So we don't do much of a tree - but do fluff up the exterior with lights.
Anyone else like the fact Bush thumbed his nose at China by receiving the Dalai Lama at the White House? The Dalai Lama, has lived in exile in India since staging a failed uprising against Chinese rule in 1959, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and he is to receive a Congressional Gold Medal (the highest honor a civilian may receive from Congress) on Wednesday.
President George W. Bush, who has met with the Dalai Lama on three previous occasions, will attend the ceremony, the first time that a sitting U.S. president has appeared with him in public. Previous recipients of the medal include Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa of Calcutta and former South African President Nelson Mandela.
Tibet, under Chinese authority since the 1750s, had varying degrees of autonomy until the Chinese Communist Party came to power in 1949, prompting a failed revolt in 1959. The Dalai Lama then fled to India and has since called for Tibetan self-rule.
Oh well... so much for this tid - bit of news.
