Just have to set up transportation from Orange County to DL and DL to the ship. Anybody have any suggestions on transportation ????? Help would be much appreciated.

Mark pirate:

Hi Mark;

Chris (Grandmax3) and I are going to look into chartering a bus to take our Disgroup from DL to the ship . . . will definitely turn out to be less money (and more fun!) than any other method. As for getting from the airport to DL, you can do supershuttle, or if you have more than two people, sometimes a taxi is just as inexpensive. If you plan to go anywhere in SoCal other than DL, you might want to think about renting a car.

Chris and I will get into the charter bus investigation after New Year's and post the info . . .

Yes I know what you mean, as (Sir) Bob Geldorf said with the Boomtown Rat's ''Tell me why, I do not like Mondays'

Had to go into the school, to see headmaster re my DS, as he has had a number of detentions, The actual position he is being set up and bullied by another boy and he keeps copping the punishment.

Sorry to hear about that, Andrew -- Stephen certainly doesn't seem like a boy who should end up getting a lot of detentions!!!

Hope all works out with your son. Bully's come and go..just a part of life I'm afraid. This to will pass. Funny thing about bully's.........once they grow up......they dont amount to much do they ???

Had to laugh at your tag line......Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas..... Please stand clear of the doors....Some of the first Spanish I learned..........due to riding the Monorail at WDW !!!!

Mark pirate:

My DS is not whiter than white, but in this instance another boy is taking the advantage of the situation and getting him in trouble. I was bullied badly at school when I was young and when I say bad I mean it. Some were psychotic. So I want to protect him.

Glad you like the tag, DS and I love all trains in Monorail.

Im with ya............. I think we can come up with other innovative forms of torture for our worst enemies :rolleyes1

Just for all of you that have been keeping track , I am at the 5 week point of no smoking   , Ive started cutting down on the meds to only once a day and now sometimes I even forget to take that ...I think I am pretty much free from the bad habit , there are times though just for a few short seconds I wish , but then the urge is gone and I am soooooo over it now ...

pirate:

:yay: :yay: Congratulations Todd :yay: :yay:

Aruba is one of our fav ports. Yes its very warm........it is almost too South America......But warm weather is why I go to the Caribbean in the first place. If i wanted kinda warm weather.......I'd go to San Diego or Hawaii.

Speaking of Hawaii.........I think once Disney Cruise Line sets up its West Coast Operations........Hawaii would be an aewsome Itin !!!!

And yes.........I'm posting and not getting anything else done at the moment.....just in case somebody is watching !!!! :surfweb:

Mark pirate:

Mark, Hawaii is pretty warm also especially on the leeward(dry) sides. But i am waiting for a Hawaii Itin. too. Week at the new DVC, week cruising--sounds great:goodvibes

And now for the 7 questions.

1) What is your SHOE SIZE? 8 ½

2) What is your favorite television show or series? Cold Case

3) What is your favorite big screen MOVIE? Too hard. I like too many.

4) What was your favorite subject and class in school/college/post grad school? Civics ( I was a Poly Sci major)

5) Where/how did you 1st meet your SO (or last hot date?) ... I know ... its' a potentially a loaded question. Hot dates what are thoes? :confused3 :confused3

6) Have you ever broken any bones? How? Yes. I was using a large wooden, read that heavy, bread board and when I went to put it away I dropped it on the toe next to my baby toe! It is crooked now!

7) Do you have a favorite flavor of ice cream (substitute any dessert if desired) B&J's Chunky Monkey

Hope the rest of Monday goes better for everyone.

this has nothing to do with the Cruise, Pirates or Disney but I have to share

z_moh_army.gif

Friday was shaping up to be just another day at the checkpoint.
As I was leaving for lunch I saw a man in a wheel chair at the exit waiting to be screened as I looked at him noticed the small gold medal around his neck. (See the picture above).

His name is MSgt. Alejandro R Ruiz (follow this link to see the citation)
http://www.medalofhonor.com/AlejandroRuiz.htm

I was honored to take care of this man and after I finished screening him his son said that they were running a bit behind schedule. They were on the way to a dinner in Dallas to honor Colin Powell. I pushed the wheel chair up to his gate, when we got they were already boarding the aircraft. I took the sergeant and his family down the jet way to the door of his plane. As I was going down the ramp I was asking people to move to one side I got some funny looks until a man wearing a hat that said he was a veteran of the 1st Calvary division He saw the medal and the he started moving people another veteran saw medal and he also started moving more people. At the door to the I was thanked by MSgt Ruiz son he told me that when president Truman hung the medal around his dads neck Truman said “I would do any thing for that medal” to which MSgt Ruiz replied “want to change jobs?”
As I left MSgt Ruiz I saw the first vet explaining to a couple of people what the medal was.

I was able to hold a Congressional Medal of Honor with out getting shot at or blown up most of these medals are awarded posthumously

Keep at it man.......... We were at a bar Saturday night that had sooo many smokers that when we came home DD told us we stank like an old ashtray.....

Last year, Ohio passed a no smoking law inside any establishment. When DW and I were at Ohio University this past weekend, we headed uptown around 5pm to get some dinner. In route, we passed a few of the remaining college bars (seems like most are now coffee shops). Our first thought was that it was even odd for Ohio University to have students lined up outside the bars at 5pm, usually didn't get that busy until after 10pm. Realized later that those students were just outside grabbing a smoke.

Mark pirate:

Six won't fit in a taxi -- but you could look into a car service with a minivan or SUV to get from the airport to DL if you don't need a rental vehicle. I'm sure many of our experts here or on the DL forum could give some suggestions.

Once Chris and I get the pricing info on chartered bus service to the port from DL, we will report and get some numbers -- potentially we might even need two buses, maybe one earlier and one later in the morning depending on whether people prefer to get to the port ASAP or spend one more morning in the parks.
