Stace....Hazel's and my idea of roughing it, is staying in an air conditioned, log cabin home at Fort Wilderness, with daily maid service!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

They aren't as "wussy" as their Mom!

Yes, i am a camping wuss... I won't go unless there are flushable toilets....

Now my DD started camping with the girl scouts and she's definately more outdoorsy than i. At her first 1 week camp, she did fine in a platform tent but i almost couldn't leave her there when i saw all the tent caterpillars and the daddy long-leggers....:scared1:

Whew.....

You should see what i accomplished today.....

DD is away on a 2-night sleepover at her horse farm. 20 girls in tents :scared1: Luckily the weather has been great...

Anyway, i went into her room :scared1: to get her dirty clothes and start the pre-disney trip laundry going....

Her room was a mess......

SO ...... i first went through with a trash bag and through the drawers and under the bed ..you name it...

AS i was doing this, It dawned on me that her room would look better if i rearranged some stuff....

SO now her room looks different and is fairly clean.. (i still left her some stuff to do.)

i should be up for sainthood....

And how much trouble will you be in for messing with her stuff? :lmao: :lmao:

Hi everyone! Just got back from our 2 week vacation! Did anyone notice I was gone? ;) :goodvibes Our RCCL family reunion cruise had it's ups & downs. A big mix up with our group not being considered a group by RCCL so we missed out on a lot of perks including an onboard credit for having more than 8 cabins booked. It's a long story, but I'm not too happy with the way RCCL handled it all. I've also told you stories of my crazy family so suffice it to say, nobody got arrested, but I think it was close a few times! All in all we had a blast & we are thinking of trying another one in 2009 but perhaps with another cruise line. :thumbsup2 There were a lot of squabbles but then again, a lot of laughs. Sort of the way any big family or group can be I guess. ;)

We stayed at BWVs after the cruise for 11 nts. Still wasn't long enough. I don't think if I stayed a year it would be long enough! :cloud9: I have so much snail mail, email & quite a bit of this thread to get caught up on. Hope all is well!
I missed ya!

I went to pick up Angelina from work today and guess WHO I found waiting for me at the entrance.......it's LINA Bear (aka Angelina). Angelina's boss John took this pic of the two of us on my new camera phone. I finally figured out how to send the photo to my e-mail address, then I posted it in my photobucket account. I'm such a novice with this cell phone tech stuff........:lmao:

Oh.. so cute! I didn't know she was working at Build a Bear!

My parents have an old Avalon(like an Airstream) and it's been sitting in the field at least 6-8 yrs. We keep talking about getting it in shape and taking a little "vacation" but haven't done it yet. :confused3
Well, just be smarter than us... refuse to camp in it until it's completely checked as everything functioning from top to bottom, side to side, inside and out. :rotfl:
I agree entirely!

LOL!
I thought I clicked to quote Stacey too but apparently it didn't take. I'm too lazy to start all over and go back to quote it. I told ya I hate not having a mouse and using this finger touch thing on the laptop! LOL

Stacey, I'm the same way. That's the reason we HAVE this camper in the first place. We used to go camping all the time and I'm so NOT into camping in a tent/etc. so I was like we need a travel trailer or RV or something! The problem is shortly after we bought it and used it a few times- we ended up moving to a place where we had nowhere to put it... and out to my sister's it went. and the problem with that is she lives in another town and all that- so with it not "right here" we ended up not going camping as often. Now that it's back at our house and right there for spur of the moment weekend camping trips- we'll probably be going more often. (the reason they are spur of the moment camping trips is because we never know if Jeff is going to be off that weekend until usually thurs or fri if he's NOT asked to work overtime that weekend...)

and really this isn't 'camping'. This is RV'ing or whatever you want to call it. But I'm the same way... this is as far as I want to go towards "camping". I used to love love LOVE summer camps- but I hated the nighttime and showers (because of bugs, no a/c, having to go somewhere outside at night if you needed to use the restroom, etc.) So I guess I've always been this way. I can handle all being cramped up in this trailer (or in small rooms in value resorts for that matter LOL) but I don't get into sleeping practically on the ground in a tent where there is no a/c- very hot and humid here, with the bugs, no home "amenities" like toilet, etc. I'm so not into that... at all.

So now we can see the carpet.:thumbsup2

What a great picture Andy.

BIP--Angelina started working at B-a-B this past March and she really enjoys it..........:goodvibes

Hope you have enjoyed your other trips! I agree this year is gonna fly by.:)

Oh I have! Thanks for asking, I always have fun if its a Disney trip! LOL
I am really excited to head to WDW for free dining in 2 weeks. Did I understand that there is a mini-meet on September 1st? I will probably JUST miss it since we don't arrive in MCO until 4:30 and not to CSR until about 6:00pm.

What a great picture Andy.

Thanks Lisa, I didn't know Angelina was going to be in the costume until I got there to pick her up, I'm glad I had my new phone with me, otherwise we wouldn't have had our pic taken together. I think the Bear's name is Bear-a-me and today was Bear-a-me's 9th birthday.

I remember my mom doing something like this when I was a younger. I went away to Army Basic Training, when I came home,my bed had been replaced with a hide-a-bed couch and my dresser with a desk and big metal locker! I took me a while to get used to it,but I did.

I was looking at this MP3 player cuz I was thinkin' it would be nice to be able to listen to the books on CD that I never seem to get around to listening to. It's on sale at Frys' electronics - 4GB model with a 1.5" square OLED screen and a 15 hour battery - it's $99. However, everthing I have now is a WAV file - and user reviews of this model say the WAV support is junk and minimal. So maybe this might not serve me well? Plus the $99 price is only "fair" at the lower end of the "street" price range as tabulated on-line.

v_plus-1.jpg

As such - anyone have much experience with MP3 players? I was thinkin' I would not want an Ipod - as I want maximum performance for a relatively low cost. And some tech articles I've browsed say you get more for your money with a non-apple player. But I have not identified which models and features I should consider.

Off hand I was thinkin if a unit had provision for a slip in memory card - like a CF or SD card to expand the capacity. AND... I was thinkin' I wanted a OLED screen with at least 4GB of internal capacity. So... the creatve zen V looked initially like it would fit most of what I was looking for - except it had no provision for slip in memory expansion. I'm beginning to wonder if any MP3 players come with an externally accessable memory slot.

At any rate - I'm gonna start browsing around at these things. If anyone has an opinion they'd like to share - please do.

Diane,

You have indeed been "missed". <chuckles> And for what it's worth - I've been away for most of the period you've been vacationing. As such, I had terrible internet service where I was - so was unable to effectively follow any of the thread. It took me for-ever to just post a couple entries while we were out there.

Thank you very much for the birthday wish. Love the cake - HOWEVER;

THIS YEAR I'M ONLY 49 - DON'T RUSH ME!

I was wishing you a Happy Birthday for next year!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wanted to stop in to say Hi to everyone. Only 13 days before we leave for WDW and a 7 day western. That is if the ports are still there after Dean. Once we get part from this years trip I will be able to focus on next year. I will be back. Lois

Lois, don't forget we are meeting on Sept 3, Monday, Labor Day about 2pm. or later at Earl of Sandwich!!!!!  I just got my suitcases out. Packing for only 7 days is easy compared to next years. :goodvibes :rolleyes1

Naw, I'm not that fussy. I just like to count down days and celebrate:cool1:

We should celebrate everyday!!!:yay:  :flower3:

Tom Adam loves his IPOd. I think that Mark (Disney Pilot) had a diiferent type--the name escapes m though.:goodvibes

BIP--Angelina started working at B-a-B this past March and she really enjoys it..........:goodvibes
Oh I bet she enjoys it- sounds like a really fun job! Maybe as close to a "Disney" type job as you can get elsewhere (other than working for disney)?

I remember my mom doing something like this when I was a younger. I went away to Army Basic Training, when I came home,my bed had been replaced with a hide-a-bed couch and my dresser with a desk and big metal locker! I took me a while to get used to it,but I did.
LOL
I kinda did the same thing while my eldest was at cheer camp. I didn't go QUITE that far- but I almost did (replacing her entire bedroom set with different stuff including a futon instead of her full size bottom/twin top bunkbed. But I did clean, rearrange, and we built her a desk in her closet. LOL

My kids have one kind and I have another. I'm not sure if they are what you're wanting though. Mine is that kind that has internal memory (or whatever you want to call that) plus you can put in a card to extend the capacity- it has a screen but I'm not sure if it's what you're wanting. I can tell you more about them if you want.. but it would probably be easier to just say exactly what you wanted your mp3 player to do and I could tell you if any of ours do all those things. I sure didn't pay $99 for any of ours.. but I did look hard for good bargains before I bought them. (sales online and such) :)
