We wanted to fly out on Monday 11th of August and return on Friday the 5th of September. We are booking with Virgin Holidays as we have nearly £3000.00 worth of Tesco Clubcard Vouchers

David

I'm deeply impressed with that. What on earth did you buy? Car? House? or both?

Hey Mary Ann!

Good moring..how ya doin?

Chrissie

Sorry Chrissie - missed you by one post

I'm doing great
(day late & a dollar short :goodvibes )
Mary Ann,
I just had DD (17) renewed in June, you needed 2 checks, one was for $67 to Department of State and the other was for $30 to Postmaster...I am not sure if the rates are the same, but they shouldn't be any higher than that.

Also, she is 17 and I had to be with her to get the passport. I originally tried to send her with my older DD, and they said she had to come back with a parent. That's why it took us about 2 weeks after that to go back, and hers is a little delayed.

With all this talk of passports, so glad we have ours, just waiting for Briana's to arrive.
Debi
Thanks Debi. I remember we both had to go down for DD's last time. I thought the price of the passports went up. That sounds like about the price I paid before - although the memory is a little fuzzy from 5 years ago

I plan on shipping costumes and formal clothes ahead to port.

Great Idea - I am going to ship things ahead to the port also. It will be stuff that I don't have to ship back though, like DIS gifts and S/F, F/F, L/C mixers ;)

Just a quick hello to everyone. Hope things settle down a little after DD starts school next week.:surfweb: Have a very overdue Doctor's appt. today. I don't like the fact of having to see somebody new but oh well.:rolleyes1

Hope all is well with everyone and..............I just want to add that I will be bringing glow in the dark bracelets. I will hand out on first dis-meet, thought we could wear for pirate night. Any idea on how many???? Kids first then adults. It's on me, so far I have 75.:goodvibes

Oh and yes I have been busy working on puzzle, I am ahead of DD.:rotfl2: We are still working on fish mail, since there will be alot of it.:)

Glow bracelets - Very Cool. Last cruise I used the website to get an idea of how many kids & ages were cruising

Tina (Castoff) since you are back from NY, here is your Freak Flag. First attempt since I had no input on the design. :sad2:

Hi Everyone

We are back!!!!!!!!!! great 3 1/2 weeks of vacation......Key West, DC and New York were great..

Arlene I responded to your PM..

I am not going to attempt to play ketchup.. if I miss anything Could you PM..

Txs..

Welcome Home, Liz.

2 years ago Brendan and I made our 1st pilgrimage to DL. We had a direct flight with Jet Blue and it was great! We paid well under $200 round trip. He is only a few points away from a free flight so....our flight to DL/LGB will be free-we are close to 2 free RT so the entire flight will be covered!

Chrissie

We plan on flying JetBlue into Long Beach for this trip. JetBlue is not cheap anymore. We used to regularly get flights to MCO for $59-$79, but no more. I am paying $264/RT to fly down in early December :scared1:

I must say a few months back I was doing 'test' bookings on line for August 2007 to see pricing and BA was better, their upgrades were far cheaper than Virgin but you cant book your seats until 24 hours on online check in.

But their Club world is the same as Virgin upper class and about £2k cheaper.

We're going to hope for a miles + money fare on VA (yes, we'll be on the phone at the first opportunity). Upgrades (unfortunately) for us are financially a non starter. Completely agree with the VH comments tho', that £360 should just about cover 1 round at the bar!!!!

I am going to look at Virgin PE and UC, and BA Club World, its worth telephoning them not just going on line and see if the advisers can give you any offers for booking early, I am trying to get some VA Airmiles together.

Sometimes booking first day might not be a good idea, supply and demand works soif you wait ant they do not sell the can go down, also VA have two flights to LA each day, the second one is often cheaper than the first.

Yep, we got three new CC cards, they arrived several months ago.

Dead jealous - we never got the old ones, let alone new ones. I did e-mail in March & was told they'd be sent within 12 weeks. I'm not sure whether she never finnished the sentence - within 12 weeks of the next millenium maybe?

I never ever got any I too was told they would go to the UK this time and 12 weeks and nothing!!

They could have given them out on the ship to me last week!

I certainly wont be at the meet on the 25th. As I am flying in on the 25th... And, due to my frugality, I'll be flying into JAX. Plus I am staying in PC that night, so going to WL in the afternoon is not happening.

As for the 3rd. What time is it happening? We are planning to do Epcot that day... and its also our last day WDW... so I might be able to stop by for a just a bit...

I hope you can make it Sil DTD at Earl of Sandwich at 2 pm.:cool1: if you want to meet Diapp. He is leaving back for England that day. :sad2: I think we could have 8 to 10 families there. Arlene will send out reminders just before the mini meet.:yay: :yay:

Nope, I just called again today.I said I would knock on the door of the promotions department in Celebration as I was going to be down there in two weeks. I could be handed it in person.:rolleyes1 I was told DCL has security at the promotional office. I would not be allowed to do this. I told her I would get Michael Moore to film me doing this. The castmember did not think it was so funny.:rolleyes1 I don't think it is so funny to be ignored for almost 4 months and 5 phone calls..:headache:

G'mornin' pirate:s

Happy trails, safe travels and bon voyage to all who are traveling the globe (or at least their state) over the next few weeks. And if I might add a personal note to those traveling to the Med or WDW:

TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!

PLEASE!

PRETTY PLEASE?

Oh DH is having that problem right now. The guy he replaced retired from the CG one week and came back to work in the same office as a GS-13/14(ish) and kept not only all of his projects, but his office as well. We're certainly not rich, but it would make you sick to know the amount of $$ DH is making to sit in a cube and read manuals for the last 3 weeks.

How cool, my DH took me to prom too!

As for the tux...I'm not pushing it right now. DH wants to rent one - black coat for one night and white for the other. Menawhile Esteri and I are devising "Operation Arm Candy". I just love it when he wears his Dinner Dress Blues.

Plus I'm cheap (ahhh, frugal) and we don't have to rent anything if he wears his uniform. The only real down side is packing the stupid hat.

I think it would be great to see your DH is his dress blues!!! Besides it is chaeper.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow! The guys at the post office I used said it would go to Chicago. When they came it was postmarked Chicago. That was back in 2005. When I was having issues with dd's bc he tried to call his contact in Chicago, but he wasn't in. Everything worked out anyways. It was just a pain.

Yes I am sooooo glad I had this aggravation way before the cruise.:yay: Has anyone ever had an easy time dealing with the government??;)

Happy Birthday Shannon!!!!

CK-176.jpg

I sent you a cake too Shannon. See that is what you get for not reading all the pages. :goodvibes

Glad you had a great time!!:woohoo: When will you post some more pictures.:confused3 I love looking at them.:goodvibes Please no more pictures of yummy deserts though. I get too hungry looking at them.:rotfl2:

David, I love the picture!!!!!What a beautiful sight.

I am so glad you called. I was going to send a search party out for you.:rotfl2: Stephanie and I talked later that day. We had a marathon of four hours!!!Good thing I did not talk to Helen that long or you would not afford to go to EBPC trip.:lmao:

Have a great birthday. Save some of the cheese soup for DH and me on Sept.4 at Le Cellier. At least 30 minutes is better than nothing!!!! I will pm. you with John's cell number. We will have this on us when we arrive on the 3rd of September. Have a safe and magical time!!! See you on the 3rd.

Thanks Cheryl - I got your e-mail (twice) :lmao:

You're very right about the phone call - FOUR HOURS !!!!!!

I'm looking forward to Le Cellier, they offer a very good red wine there and I can't wait to try it again. I can't promise to save you some of the Cheddar soup but I will bring some de-caf tea-bags for John. :thumbsup2

David

Any idea what '08 costs might be?
I've used SW, but recently started using AirTran. I like AirTran alot.

We took AirTran to Williamsburg when they had a special BOS/Newport News. Even with the rental, it ended up being cheaper than driving. I liked them - they were on-time and didn't loose my luggage. Can't ask for more than that

I'm finally caught up (sort of) and now I can't think of what to say:confused3

Hmmm... I'm going to a Keith Urban concert this Friday:cool1:
DH bought the tickets for my birthday back in March, so I've been waiting a long time for my B-day present. :cool1:

Any other Keith Urban fans out there ??

Not a Keith Urban fan, but just wanted to say, have a great time at the show

Why was all the good info in the 1st post of this thread erased?

I am sure this was covered here somewhere... But if I had to do all that Ketchup... I would own Heinz!

Not sure why it was all removed by Judy, but it was transferred over to the Pirate Zone site beforehand

Shelly, You and my DD had the same day. She took her DS to meet the teachers etc, and found out he was placed in all classes that were ESL. Yes they thought he didn't speak english as a first language. :lmao: ( at least she was laughing) Needless to say she will be busy tomorrow trying to iron it out. I'll tell ya never a dull moment around here. The schools really know how to screw up royally. Friday is the meet day for the 2 younger ones. I usually go with her as I sometimes pick them up from school and we like everyone to meet us. I have to keep my fingers crossed they don't mess with her again. She also commented that the principal addressed all the parents and students over the video system and didn't even feel she needed to be there in person?? Also they were telling me she mispronounced quite a few words in her presentation which rambled on and on. That's our crack educational system here in sunny Florida. The kids can't read and those in charge aren't any better.........:scared1:
Should be an interesting year.
Our teacher assignment was released today. I think I am very happy with my DD's team. My SIL, who also teaches in the middle school, says both her kids had this HR teacher and she was pleased with the team with the exception of the math instructor. I can live with that since DH is very strong in math and basically tutors her during the year anyway. Best of all, she has the only one of the 6th grade looping HR teachers, which means she will have the same team next year. Since she will be missing the first three days of school for the TOAL, I was happy to hear that!!! Teacher assignments are like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get :rotfl2:

Any idea when Jetblue will release their August/September 2008 rates?

JetBlue and SWA are usually the last ones to realese their schedules. Most time it is not released more than 6 months out, if not closer. I like JetBlue because they will issue credits if the cost of the flight goes down. We had almost $600 in credit from our Christmas 2006 flight :cool1:
