Just posting a quick hello!

I am still sufferring with the intermittant DSL service here in Waikiki. It works but is sort of annoying most of the time. I keep getting knocked off and all sorts of other wierd stuff.

Aloha!

GEESH! What a terrible thing to be suffering from in WAIKIKI!!
I almost feel sorry for you. Not.
:sad2:

Glad you're having a good time!

Happy Birthday Arlene!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARLENE!!

Sharing my 15,000th post on the DIS with you!!!

I think I am officially having a midlife crisis. I'll be 35 in Oct. & in the past 4months I got a tatoo, ran a triathlon & I'm getting my COAL. Life is good & if this really is mid-life and I make it to 70, I think I'm doing good (at least better than any other female in my family).

Your "mid-life crisis" sounds a lot like my husbands, although he was in his early 40's before his hit. He went on a diet and lost 30 lbs, took up running and now runs a few marathons each year (his next is in Chicago), rides his bike up to 100 miles at a time, . . . He is in the best shape of his life I think. I decided to support him in this mid-life crisis (because it does take up a lot of time and money) because he is so much happier and it sure beats many of the alternatives he could have chosen. :cool1:

Hi,
Well - I'm past "mid-life" crisis age - but I did get tatoos. A bit different though - I had permanent eyeliner & eyebrows done.
What - maybe later life vanity attack???
Chris I have been wanted to get permanent eyeliner done!
I have 2 friends that have had it done and love it. I had one that had her lips done too. I am just a chicken.:)

I'll have it with you, M. I turn that horrible # also in Oct. In the past 6 months i've lost 70 lbs, thought about a tatoo (but dh is opposed), and i am more seriously thinking about getting a scooter.

I saw this cute red Vespa scooter the other night and loved it.....

I think i might have to go kick a few tires this weekend.;) at the local dealership.

I really am excited to think about loosing my car and gaining a scooter.

Maybe it's time to clean out some room in the garage.

Scooter huh? Might I suggest checking out the Genuine Buddy? That was my first scooter. It's fully atomatic, will do 55-60 in a pinch.
I had the Pink one.

I have a friend who did the eyeliner, but that just looks like it would hurt so much!

I've had my eyebrows done 3 times, but they keep fading. Maybe because I don't remember to use sunscreen on them??
I have no eyebrows to speak of, so now I'll just wait until they can do really good "transplants". LOL

Just sailed right past my 15,000th post! So much for being profound.
I think it was the Happy Birthday wish to Arlene. That seems to be a great post for 15,000!!!

WOW - 15,000 posts - Awesome!!
I think I'm neariing 500 now - and when I started posting here I had 5!!!

BTW - the eyeliner & brows didn't hurt at all - however, my pain tolerance is huge. So, I'm not one to ask!!!

I'm guessing that 55-60 was without a restrictor.... I'm thinking of starting out on one of the slower ones since you don't have to register it.

i saw one of those at the county fair last year (the pink one) i loved it but not the white seat. i mean you can almost see all the dirt waiting to happen on a white seat.

I just checked and the same dealership has both brands....

I'll have to compare.

We had a wonderful stay in the Big Apple! I do have to say that the highlight of our trip was meeting and spending time with our wonderful friends. Thank you so much Peter for organizing it!!

Last night around 10:30 pm we went to the Top of the Rock! What a wonderful view! It was amazing how far removed we felt from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also rode the subway down to the WTC site yesterday morning. Even with all the construction going on there it still brings tears to your eyes. The exhibit they have in the church is really moving. We then walked to Little Italy for lunch and then along Canal Street to board the subway back to Times Square. We took a horse carraige through Central Park--we had walked through it one afternoon, but the horse ride was very enjoyable. We had dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner--it was a really fun place. The waitstaff all take turns singing and getting the diners involved.

And of course we took in the World of Disney store at 55th and 5th. It was nice to get a taste of Disney while we were here.

I hope to come back one day and be able to iceskate at Rockerfeller Center. Hope you all have a wonderful day---we head for the airport in a couple of hours. :goodvibes

Safe travels home Paula!

Now I hate to get in the elevator at work with one of the smokers straight off the smoking deck. Yuck
Good luck to you all.

Better getting on the elevator after a smoker than one of our IT guys...let's just say he has never walked down the Right Guard/Axe/Arrid aisle to know such products exist
yuck.gif

Good luck to you all trying to quit.

I had an aunt who smoked for decades, ran two nightclubs, drank like a fish and spent hours on end in smoke-filled Vegas casinos. She didn't stop when they found the cancer, nor when it became aggressive, nor when they removed her lung, nor when they put her on oxygen and bed rest. She only stopped 3 times: when she was in the hospital for her surgeries, when she was in the hospital after a 'cardiac episode' and finally when she died. :sad1:

Okay, on to happier topics :)

So a HUGE brand new SuperTarget opened up about 4 minutes from my house!

And guess what's in the $1 bins? A boatload of AWE carp! pirate:

Maybe I can get a Blackberry and DIS! That's productive, right???

I'll buy that... Besides, what's a new job for if you don't buy something fun? :cool2:
i am more seriously thinking about getting a scooter.

I saw this cute red Vespa scooter the other night and loved it.....

I've had 2 scooters - one Yamaha Riva 200 and a Twist & Go 150. By far the most reliable was the 200. Start slow and work your way up to going faster. Any you'll love parking it!

Happy birthday Arlene!!!!!

Just stopped by the house to cool off for a few minutes and I found a package was waiting for me, inside I found the Capt'n Mickey I ordered back in February or March. It's been so long I forgot when I ordered it. I kind expected it to be a little bit bigger than this, but oh well, at least he finally made it..........:goodvibes
