:rolleyes1 Benadryl works wonders too. A very good friend of mine works with kids in a group home type setting and it's part of their daily regimen.

I got a really good photo of Grandma eating her plate of ribs - so this is her on her 99th birthday!

Now that is a truly inspirational photo Pamela! We should all hope to look so vibrant on our 99th birthday. It looks like you have some great genes on your side!

Our pediatrician recommends Benadryl for the kiddies before flying. It really helps prevent motion sickness and ear problems on flights as well as helping them sleep.

Hi all, just jumping in to say... well... hi! :)

We had a great weekend in Sydney and I saw two opera's at the Sydney Opera House - Barber of Seville and the Abduction of the Seraligo. I'll say now that I'm not an opera fan but I did enjoy them both - wonderful performances and the venue can't be beat. Now, I've fulfilled my part of the pact with the MIL, she now has to come to Disney with us at some stage <evil laugh>.

I'm working away from home this week in the North Island, so won't be around much (if at all). As soon as I leave this motel in a few minutes, I'm not sure if I will have Internet access again until I get home at the end of the week.

Currently, I'm in Rotorua which for those of you that know New Zealand will recognise as the thermal wonderland. There are steam vents, geysers and hot pools all over the city. It was really cold and drizzly yesterday and there were these pockets of rising steam all over the place - very cool. Even the motel across the road has a steam vent in the front lawn.

I leave Rotorua later today and head to Tauranga which I've been to before - a pretty seaside town - then onto Whakatane on Thursday which will be a new place for me. As an aside, the pronunciation of Whakatane sounds very rude with the "Wh" at the beginning said like "F" in English. Always gives me a bit of a giggle... I prefer childlike rather than childish if you don't mind LOL

Paula, enjoy your time away. As I have said before one day I would love to see your side of the world.:goodvibes

Hey Mary! When you get time would you post some pics from your Alaskan cruise? I would love to see:goodvibes

Oh goodness I hope not! When i saw him I wasn't within smelling distance of him!:lmao:

Funny story. When dd and I were in WDW a couple of weeks ago, she wanted to go on It's a Small World one last time. So we were loaded behind a family from India. As the ride progressed, I smelled this aweful odor. It kept getting stronger and finally (hey we were in dim light) I took a wiff of my arm pit! I was sweating like a pig the whole time were where there so I thought maybe it had caught up with me. It wasn't coming from me. It had a garlic tinge to it. So we gt off the ride and the smell goes away. I think it may of been the people in front of us. I know some cultures don't use deodorant. even dd noticed it. When we got off the ride I took one more pit wiff and was assured it wasn't coming from me!

Trust me when I say it wasn't you!

Happy Monday everyone!

I survived all the zuccini bread baking. Today I sent one to work with DH, brought one to work with me, gave one to the next door neighbor who loaned me a couple of her loaf pans and kept one out at home to eat. The other SIX are being frozen for later use! :thumbsup2 (Cheryl - If I come anywhere near Schaumburg, I'll bring one to you.)

Actually, I have a question for you Cheryl - why are you a Sox fan? Schaumburg is definitely more North than South! :rotfl2: (For those non-Chicago area folks - traditionally, the north-side is the diehard Cubs fans and the south-side is the diehard Sox fans. I'm from due West of the city, so I have always cheered for both! ... but please, please, please do not make me actually watch a game :rotfl2: )

Pamela (pdarrah)

I hope I look that good at 99 :thumbsup2

I sure hopes so ...I keep dreading the flight to Philly from Vegas cause we have to stay awake so as to help with the big time change for us ...I know from Philly to barcelona we will eat then I get to take a nice sleeping pill and we arrive in Barcelona like at 8 :30 in the morning so we should be good to go ...

When we went to London I couldn't sleep as the sun was out at 2am. Just seeing the sun ruined any chance of catching any sleep.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday. I just got back from the doctors...I have yet another ear infection. Yech. So, DD is pampering me with some TLC and we're going to watch a movie...if I have my say, it will be one of the POCs. ;)

Karen I'm so sorry you are under the weather. Feel better soon!

Good afternoon! We are taking a break at the hotel for awhile. We have been doing so much walking these last few days trying to see all the sights. We took the subway down to the WTC site this morning, walked to Little Italy for lunch and then all along Canal street (I think if I had one more person ask me about a purse I could have slugged them!!) to catch the subway again. I want to try to make a carraige ride through Central Park later this evening after we get a little rest. This is one busy city!! It is so hard to believe that we will be leaving to come home tomorrow evening. We have really seen so much. But I have to say the highlight was meeting and spending time with our friends.:)

Paula I'm so glad you are having such a great time. I would love to go and spend time in NYC. Have a safe trip home tomorrow.

But of course you get to kiss the Captain! If it wasn't for Tia Dalma he'd still be in Davy Jones locker trying to eat that darn peanut!:rotfl2:

Todd better pack the chapstick, sounds like you are going to have a line! Time for the Captain to pucker up!

Now I'm really sad to be missing Pirate Night!

Hey Mary! When you get time would you post some pics from your Alaskan cruise? I would love to see:goodvibes

Thanks Paula! I am working on putting together an album in photobucket and I will post a link. I can't wait until DCL decides to send a cruise to Alaska!

You will all go with me right?

Okay...I'm finally getting off my dead butt and going to the high school to have them send Jordan's transcripts to her Distance Learning School. Never thought I'd see the day that I was a Home School Mom!!

Stace, I didn't realize you were going to home school Jordan! I am sure you will enjoy the time you spend with her. :)

Of course! Wouldn't miss it for the world:cool1: I am really looking forward to DCL having some new itineraries.

Mary, cool new family picture. Madison will flip since she is so bummed that she won't be sailing with Dylan.

So much for DDs TLC and me watching POC... blah blah blah blah blah blah :hyper: And I taught her to talk WHY?!?!?!? :headache: :lmao:
I seem to recall someone saying once that we spend the first year of our children's lives waiting for them to walk & talk and the rest of their lives waiting for them to shut up & sit down :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Check that first. My brother took benadryl for years & it amped him up instead of putting him to sleep. So, I know from experience that it can go either way. Parenthetically, my whole family reacts that way to codine - no sleepy time for us! :upsidedow

There's always next year. pirate:

Well Alan is up from his nap and Adam is hungry(go figure!) so I guess we are gonna head back out for awhile. I went down to the desk earlier and was able to get a late checkout at 1 pm. Our plane leaves at 5 so that will work out pretty well. :)

Oh I am sure there will be plenty of pictures ...

And for some of us (my mother and me) codine is just plain bad! She was given a large dose in a prescription cough medicine and had a really bad reaction - the dr's told her it was akin to a "bad trip" on drugs. Since being sensitive to codine may be genetic, my chart was marked that I shouldn't have it - BUT after DS was born (emergency c-section) and they took me off the IV drugs, they gave me a tylenol with codein. Acording to DH, it made me "loopy" - I just remember feeling disoriented - he said I wasn't even making sense when I tried to tell him what was happening. Once it wore off, I was OK, but they paid more attention to what they gave me!

Do they really have codine in regular benedryl for kids? I'll have to watch out for that since I sure don't want to test it on DS!
