Hi Everyone!

I am back! Brendan and I went for a long weekend to Vermont and Montreal. Never been to either....Had to cross the border...that was an experience!

Now my countdown to WDW Aug! I see you all have been very busy...I am not a ketcher-upper (don't have the patience!) so hopefully I didn't miss anything too important!

Chrissie

The short version of that answer is yes. Generally (if you spend over $75/mo in electricity) you can expect to amortize the cost of a PV system over about 10 years. Anything after that is gravy.

More or less - except the PV panels supposedly lose 0.5- 1.5% of thier efficiency each year - and the inverters are expected to fail or need replacement every 15 years or so. AND... we are investigating whether folks are realizing anywhere near the expected output as promised from their installers/suppliers. ONE person we contacted said he felt his electric bill had not gone down more than 10% - and that's not right. In fact - that sounds totally wrong - and in spite of this we have no real fear of this happening to us. We're gonna have live computer based monitoring of the performance - and not just the status panel on the inverter = so we will be closely tracking the systems' performance over the days, months and years!

Or so - that's the plan. I might ad that some supplier/installers claim 5 year residential recovery of expenses - and that's very hard for us to imagine. And optimistically - 10ish years is possible - bu we are actually counting on 15 or less years to break even.

< one of my recent "favorites"...>

And below`here's a new one...

Move your head close to the screen. Do the perfect blue squares appear to be distorted? Absolutely... this is due to the black lines in the back moving and twisting it in your mind. What an eye trick!

Monday, Monday.................well you get the meaning....................

Have a good one...............;)

Hope you're feelin' better today Andy. I heard New Jersey is the 2nd largest residential solar market in the nation. This make any sense to ya? OK - I'm turning in - I woke up to walk the house and shut down things and get a drink of water. Gotta a lot of things to do in this morning preparation of our travel in a few days. Gotta get some decent rest now....

Hope everyone wakes to a beautiful monday start for the week!

TTFN!

Where is all the information on the T-Shirts and such. Went to the pirate site but did not see it.

Do we need a user name and password?

Thanks for the help

Tom and Diana

The info on the site is same as in posts and is in a password protected section (needs username and password). You can also go to the thread summaries in the "thread info" section and the latest summary has the posts linked.

If they keep adding the value of the panels to you home value for property tax purposes, solar is dead in NJ, no one can afford that....

Morning Pirates....:surfweb:

... my GREEN spouse

Tom, Sounds like Alicia has a serious physical ailment.... Maybe one of our fine medical consulting team on the TOAL can help her out...

Their pillowcases are not 200 count. But they're made by co-ops in developing areas - so I feel good about buying there. :) My concern about regular pillowcases is that they have fabric finishes on them to help prevent staining. This means the paint from the screening may not "stick" as well. I can get some stuff to wash them in that will help remove the finishes. But, finding 200 count pillowcases at a reasonable cost may be difficult. Here's the URL for the pillow cases I was planning on getting: http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/3450-AA.shtml?lnav=clothing.html

mmmm looked at the site... Wouldn't 60x60 be 240 threads maybe? :confused3

I am really proud of Dante since he had full run of the place.:)

:yay: yay Dante....

Abby has not been crated during the day for a little over a month now.

Hello everyone,
I have been MIA for months, but had to concentrate on my Med cruise and other stuff. Since this is now my NEXT cruise, I can devote all my attention to it. I have a question......originally, I thought there was something on page one that had lots and lots of vital info regarding this cruise.....siggies, activities, rosters, thread summaries, etc.....but i can't find it anymore. I also used to be able to access the Pirate Zone, but that doesn't work either. Could someone please get me reoriented? I know I can't keep up with you guys, but I'd like to pop in from time to time and know what's happening. Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Good Morning everyone!

Back to real life and MONDAYS! blechh....

Is it too early to start packing for my WDW trip?

Hope everyone is well!

Andy how are you feeling?

Chrissie

After lurking since the winter - I have decided to start posting. My family (myself, DH, 2DD ages 4 and 7) will be joining you on this cruise. We are very excited and can't get over all the valuable info found on this thread. I have to admit I usually spend time on the DVC boards, this one always seemed too intimidating with the number of posts. Not sure if I'll be able to keep up!

Glad to see that you joined our pirate: ranks. We don't bite, so feel free to jump in and join the fun. We also have a DD that will be turning 7 in a little over a month. Seems like there are a lot of 7yo DD on this trip.
