well, new update...
:sad2: no little dis baby born in march...at least not from us! :sad2:
not sure what is going on...but i went in for a blood test today just to confirm, and it came back that i am not pg...i took 2 at home ones that said i was, and that is what i based it on the other day. guess i jumped the gun...:sad2:
only good thing is that i miscalculated, and we have one more month to try!! thing is it would make for a very very young infant on the cruise. we'll see how things work out.

I'm so sorry - it sounds like your hormone levels were just off (possibly from spontaneous miscarrage). It took me 8 years, 4 miscarrages & 2 husbands before DD was born. At least part of the process is fun.

I think I did it. My first posting of my own cake!!!!

Happy Birthday Laura

Such a nice job on your first cake, I think I'll just pirate: pirate: it.

Happy Birthday, Laura

I am sorry. I have had 2 miscarriages. In 4 pregnancies the furthest I have gotten in 34 weeks. Thankfully both DD's were healthy enough to survive and thrive being early.

Here are 2 of my favorite photos from our last cruise.

Kevin had shaved of his mustache and goatee just before the cruise(easier for snorkeling)...first time in 27 yrs. that I'd seen him without a mustache

What nice Pics :thumbsup2

That red dress looks absolutely lovely on you!!!!!

WARNING, MATH ALERT (BUT MONEY INVOLVED)

Now they charge on a special Panama canal ton which is based on volume. Gross tonnage is also based on volume. I don't know the Magic's weight in PC tons, but in Gross Tons, the tax is about a $35,000 difference, based on Magic's capacity of (what did Crash say 1,750 people) and a likely cruise population of about 1,500, the per person charge is about $25.00.

...................................old....................new..................diff
First 10,000...........$ 29,600.00.......$ 33,900.00........$ 4,300.00
Second 10,000.......$ 29,000.00.......$ 33,200.00........$ 4,200.00
Balance 63,000.......$179,550.00......$205,380.00.......$25,830.00
Total 83,000..........$238,150.00......$272,480.00......$34,330.00

So, unless the PC Ton is about 4 times a Gross ton, Disney is goughing us here! (unless its $100 per cabin, not passenger...)

www.pancanal.com/eng/maritime/tolls.html

"In the case of passenger vessels, the ACP will assess tolls based on the maximum passenger capacity in accordance with the International Tonnage Certificate 69, or the vessel’s passenger ship safety certificate; vessels over 30,000 gross tons and whose PC/UMS ÷ maximum passenger capacity ratio is equal to or less than 33 will be charged on a per berth basis according to the following table. In addition, Panama Canal tolls per market segment are increased, in general terms, as shown in the following table."

I'm sorry I can't get the table to copy. However, under "market Segment"

Passenger Vessels toll per berth

Present toll N/A
October 2007 $100
October 2008 $115

I'm no expert, but it looks like at the present time there is no toll for passenger vessels

Beginning October 2007, the fee will be $100 per berth

Beginning October 2008, the fee will be $115 per berth

It looks to me like DCL is charging us exactly what the ACP, Canal Authority, is charging them.

Jared and I are flying Southwest tomorrow to Omaha. I don't like the "no seat assignment" thing, but have to admit, they do make the flight entertaining.
When we flew to Vegas last month, one flight attendant had us in stitches the whole time.

Omaha!!?! WTH is in Omaha??? :rotfl: J/K ;)

I only flew SW once and we had a crew that was a total crack-up. During the safety demo (you know, the one you usually totally ignore) , the flight attendant stated, "Should your flight suddenly turn into a cruise", and began to explain the seat cushion/flotation device segment and the plane was in stitches. They were like a comedy show.

Sounds like the crew we had when we flew from Detroit to Orlando. They were alot of fun. We ended up in the bulkhead so we had plenty of chat time with them. It was a great flight.

Hey Guys,

I just arrived home from seeing the doc and stopping at CVS after having two prescriptions filled. What I thought was pain from a sore muscle, turned out to be a case of Shingles. As soon as the doc saw a rash on my back, he knew exactly what I had. He said the Shingles is what was causing the burning sensation I was feeling. WOW, lucky me!!!

The doc said stress could bring on the Shingles, and I told the doc I have been under a great deal of stress with work, see I knew this job was getting the better of me...........:lmao:

Oh well, I already had Thursday and Friday scheduled off as vacation days, so I will go back to work for Tuesday and Wednesday, a very short two day work week for me..........:goodvibes

Thanks for the :wizard: everyone!!! ;)

I hope you feel better quickly. All I know about shingles is, I have heard it is very painful. I hope they have given you something to help you deal with the discomfort. Hope you feel better, Andy :flower3: . Here, you sound like you need some cyber chicken soup too......

Thank very much Mary Ann. Would you believe I bought this at Ross for less than $25.00? It's made to look like a 2pc with a sequin applique on the top and one on the skirt. And the best part...it's machine wash!

Sorry to hear of this Shannon, I think we all could tell how exciting this was for you. Maybe you will have good news for us next month.

Well sure enough, there waiting in the mail box was a little letter from DCL with the 'please add $100/pp' message.

Andy

Well now, it really doesn't get much better than that, does it? :thumbsup2. I love it when everything just falls into place (clothes-wise)

Officially received ours today also. Normally if we were to get something from DCL in the mail everyone gets all excited and is anxious to open it, today however that was not the case. :sad2:

Well, no notification for me yet. I suppose I should dig out my confirmation number to check the DCL website directly.

Hey, who knows, maybe they will actually give me a cabin number with my $300 surcharge :rotfl: :rotfl:
