That treasure kit extender is AWESOME! I might just have to do that.

Good point about how sturdy it is.....hmmmmm....

When Jay & I renewed our vows in Key West, I'd made a treasure box to hold our rings....for our ringbearer to carry. It was made of wood. I got it at JoAnn and decorated it. It wouldn't be too hard to do that and attach a chain to it.

As far as someone stealing it.....we used heavy duty ties to attach our fish extenders, because on previous cruises, some had "disappeared". That way, someone would have to use scissors to remove them.

I had read on another thread that some extenders had gone MIA. I found some little pencil/cosmetic bags, pencils, erasers and cube pads with skull and cross bones on them at Joanns this weekend in the $1 section. They were brown background.

For anyone who's not used the Long Beach airport I have a few pictures to give you an idea of the size of it.

The first picture shows the terminal bldg straight ahead (taken from the side of the building). Upstairs there is a restaurant, downstairs is where you check in. The picture was taken at the outside baggage claim area. Yep...claim your bags outside.

Across the street (where the palm trees are) is where you'd meet your shuttle, taxi, or pickup in person and car rental. You can barely see, above the roof of the white van...there's a white building with the car rental logos on it.

Baggage Claim. Just beyond the green building is the conveyor belt where the luggage comes out.

I love this airport....easy in, easy out. And only about a 20 minute drive to the port. So much less stressful than LAX.

That is really cute...I could just see somebody ripping it off too.;)

Would make it a whole lot harder if we used the ties on them, though. I wonder if they're big enough to hold a lot of stuff? I realized that the wooden box I'd made before wouldn't be.

I may have to get one just to see.

So many decisions!!! I haven't decided at all which airport to fly into--last time we did LAX and took Disney transport to PP. We had no problems at all. But I did use DCL for airfare/transfers. This time I am just gonna wait until I can book with Delta and go with the cheapest/best times for us. :)

I did ask if I could just change our flights into LA and they wanted us to pay a $50 per person air deviation charge PLUS any amount over and above what the original flight would have cost. All I wanted to do was fly in on Thursday instead of Saturday - wasn't sure if there would be a big price difference but I really didn't want to chance having to spend an extra $500 on airfare alone.
We will be checking Delta too but if we find nothing there we may look into JetBlue (cheap) or Us Airways (DH has some frequent flyer miles but probably not enough). I hate waiting for the flight prices - I know its a year away but I am such an overplanner sometimes:rotfl:

Paula, Tom & Stace: Thanks so much for the info about the port!

Thanks for the pics of LGB - that is my type of airport - I hate big sprawling airports! I was leaning towards this airport only because JetBlue flys there and it may be our cheapest route!

It's driving me crazy now, trying to remember which berth we were at last time. I remember having to tell our driver.....like he wouldn't have recognized the Magic when we crossed the bridge!!

I don't even remember now how I found out which berth, unless it was from someone posting it here after they'd gotten off. :confused3

But I'm not worried about it anyway....like I said, it's pretty hard to miss.

I had to pay that change fee in 05, when we decided to spend 2 nights in Dl before hand. I really wish when you book airfare, they would let you chose the days you want to leave and return instead of just assuming you want to travel day of. That was the only time I have ever booked air with them.
Actually it is a little more than a month away when you can book through Delta--so not too long. And it is a good idea to check back on them later, I have gotten refunds several times from airlines:)

Can you order online, or do you have to go to the store? Our closest Michael's is about a 45 minute drive through icky traffic.

I could check at mine Stace....

Willing to send or construct for whoever wants one....

I need to see it up close to see how study it is...

It might be able to be reinforced with cardstock or matboard....

Or i might just get one and use as a template for a studier one.

(kinda use the front 3 faces on a solid sheet of board)

Now that i see Long Beach... That looks like a good way to go if the price isn't too bad. With 3 of us flying, i wouldn't pay an extra $100 per ticket to go there over LAX.

Jet Blue out of Dulles looks good to me in that flights are direct. TV/satellite radio for a 5 hour flight is a cool bonus too.

Here's a picture of the front of the terminal. You can see where the Super Shuttle parked, and we walked across...to the right...and entered the door with the banner above that says "Embarkation Lobby"...with the blow-up castle thing next to it. They wouldn't let me take pictures inside.

I removed the heads of my son, daughter, Mom and Dad, because they were all looking really cranky and they'd never forgive me if I posted pics of them like that.

LOL Stacey that is too funny!! I keep picturing the Queen of Hearts yelling "Off with their heads!"

I'm sure Crash would be happy to put some happy, smiley heads on there for you!!

It depends on what you plan to do with your photos when you are done. If you are only plan to view them electronically of print 4x6 for albums or scrapping, heck even up to 8x10, then 6mp should be just fine and dandy. I like to decorate with mine. I have several of my photos 16x20 and even 24x36 framed in my house. 6mp just wouldn't give me the quality to be able to do that. Now it's not something you need every times you take a photo, but it sure is nice to know that it's there.

Also Stace, if you don't want to venture to a new site, the folks on the Dis photo board are a pretty helpful bunch of camera nerds.

And remember, don't skimp on the memory chips! Don't just get the el cheapo SanDisk or store-brand chips unless you want to just take the "cummy" pictures.

Go with the good stuff--Lexar Professional (133X or higher), Kingston Ultimate (133X) or SanDisk Extreme III or Extreme IV. For fast-action or delicate shots, high speed, high quality digital media makes a big difference.
