Yeah, I'd have to ride 2 up cuz I don't know anything about shifting(mines automatic) but that's ok, I've never ridden on a Harley before either!

My grandfather drove a Harley!! :)

I'm in Dallas today supposedly paying attention to the class. :lmao:

I'm in Arlington. :) Depending on where in Dallas you are I am anywhere from 45 - 70 minutes away. ;)

I know what you mean with this - even the children's pocket money buys a lot of US$ at the moment.

Helen wants us to buy some and put it away for next year - it's still hovering around $2 to the £1.00   :yay: :yay:

David

David, talk nice!!! LOL! When Jon spent two weeks in Europe (Zurich, Rome, some places in Germany, another city or two in Italy) last October -- for fun! I had to really not think about how much that beer was costing! LOL!!!!

Keep your fingers and toes crossed that things go really well over the next year with launching the stores in England & Ireland. If the stores do well we get to go over and visit!! With the company paying for part of it!! :rotfl:

Tom Baker.... He's the man......

Oh come on, I think it'll be fun! Although I will be medicated when we do this :scared1:

But Debi...you're talking to the girl who did the banana boats once at cc and swares she's NEVER, EVER getting on one again.....

Now maybe if a had enough rum you may be able to talk my into the parasailing. but ropes/high places....NO GO...

Not all the rum in Jamaica could get me into that venture.

I see that Dr Who is really taking off in the USA, the current series has just ended here:sad2: and my DD7 is already missing it. She cannot believe that we will have to wait until Christmas Day for the next episode (RMS Titanic and Kykie Minogue). The Christmas episode is currently being filmed in Cardiff, Wales
(my home country).

Jon and i used to watch Dr Who about 25yrs ago..... I haven't seen it in at least 20...... I may have to check it out again!

Next weekend for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday, we are driving to Wales for her party - Steph & Cheryl from the 10 Night Southern will know how I feel about this :headache: - and whilst there we are going to Cardiff to see the permanent Dr Who exhibition. :cheer2:

On our return I will hopefully post a few pictures.

David

Just keep telling yourself... I am spending time with my wife and children.... and we get to go see the Dr Who exhibit! In your mind think of that as the real trip. ;)
Right now I'm trying to get over the fact that Jon's brother and family are coming to Katherine's wedding! When I found out (last week) I sent Jon & Katherine a mean email and told them that they both should have told them that children were NOT allowed -- they don't take the kids (12 & 9) on any other trips they go on! My kids can't stand their bratty kids!!!! UGH!!!!! They are only bringing their kids on this trip because my IL's are paying for them to go -- and FIL is paying for the children to have their own oceanfront room!!!! :scared1:
Luckily they are on a different flight then us.......

Hi!

I'm new to this thread. My husband two sons (10 & 7) are booked on this cruise too. Just found this thread. I will check through most of it out and then ask my questions. I don't want to duplicate anything. Just excited to be here.

Welcome to the family.
The 4boons look forward to getting to know y'all

Looks like something we'd see down here, actually. No different than diggin' a hole and throwing it in on top of the hot coals really. Actually better, doesn't have to cook for 2 days!

I was thinking that same thing! Who couldn't go for a good pig pull? ;) DH's family is from TN (his dad's from TX) and one of his uncles is fond og saying *You can't even get a good goat at Safeway anymore.* :rotfl: :rotfl: Are we country or what??? :rotfl2:

4boons, I thought of you Saturday when we were driving through Big Sandy and I saw the turn off for Gilmer. ;) Dh's grandparents raised their kids in Gladewater.

Hi everyone!
I had a very good and very bad weekend.
We spent the weekend in a town about 3 hours away for my sides family reunion. Had an absolutely wonderful time!
For the 1st time my MiL had come to my family reunion. She had traveled w/ my extended family before so my family asked her to come. She had a lot of fun too.
On the way back from the reunion we were caravanning w/ 4 cars back to Dallas. My MiL's sister and her family had lived in this very small town (pop 700) between Dallas and Abilene (where the reunion was). My MiL wanted us to stop in this town to have lunch at this one place she said was very good and since it was only 5 miles off the road, we went.
While we were waiting for our food, my 2 neices (age 18 and 16) went to look around. My oldest neice came back and said she had trouble getting back to the restaurant because a train was stopped that was not there originally. Then she told us there was someone was hit by the train a block away. We thought "how terrible". Then the waitress asks to see my MiL at the front of the restaurant. Turns out her BiL was the one hit by the train. It apparantly happened right after we got there. MiL and DH run to the scene and turns out the body was still on the ground, etc. Horrible!
My poor MiL has to call her neices and tell them what happened to their Dad. If anyone had to give them news like that, it was good to hear from their Aunt whom they were very close to. But extaremely hard on my MiL.
There was 1 daughter they could not reach. My DH went to a conveniece store to get his Mom something to drink since she is devastated and the 3rd DD was there. Here she sees her cousin who lives 2 hours away in her town. DH had to be the one to tell her and she just fell apart. Poor Bill.
Anyway it was a train track that had a stopped train on it so he drove around and there was another train coming. Killed him instantly, thankfully.
Just a horrible situation except every one agrees he would have wanted to go quickly and not gotten sick and lingered.
Not to be a downer but what a bizarre coincedence.

I'm so sorry! :grouphug: to all.

Growing up in a railroad town (we have 2 major lines that cross here) train safety was always really stressed. I can remember learning about it over and over at school and now DS8 is getting the same thing. However, I have the impression that it isn't taught all that much in non-railroad areas. (Just from people I've talked with from other places...) It is horrible for the family that loses a loved one so suddenly. It is also horrible for the train engineers - I have known a few over the years and they say they feel so helpless when they see someone come onto the tracks and they cannot possibly stop. :sad2:
