HI All --

Happy 4th of July to those in the states! I just realized how long it has been since I've checked in with ya'll!! We just got done doing sparklers and other firestuff in our backyard. We decided not to chase any fireworks tonight (thought it is booming outside . .LOL).

We finished our last game of baseball all-stars last night. I'm emotionally exhausted from it all, but very proud of my son and his efforts. Now I'll have more time for ya'll again!

Have a super night!

Theresa 8-)

You will have a great time at CW. You said you are going with Disney. Is it thru Adventures of Disney? Let me know when you are coming here. I live a mile from Colonial Williamsburg. Tonite they are having there Fireworks and people from all over come to see them. Also Busch Gardens have their fireworks tonite along with Yorktown. The skies around here tonite will be lit!!!!

Karen

Yes, it is with Adventures By Disney -- dh feels better about the kids and I traveling alone that way! :) We should be at Colonial Williamsburg on August 20th. Here is our itinerary -- http://abd.disney.go.com/abd/en_US/destination?name=MidAtlanticLandingPage

He's staying at home with 6dd. They are going to have *Daddy/Daughter* time!

Too cool that you are so close -- especially on a night like tonight! :) I  fireworks!!! :goodvibes

Hi Theresa! I was off for a while too (busy at work/DS school/vacation) and have only been back for a couple weeks. I was wondering where you were...

Pamela (pdarrah)

Hey, hey! Don't be doing that! LOL! I already had that on my *watch list* to buy if the price doesn't get too outrageous! LOL! I bought all of 6dd's (at the time she was 5) clothes for the 10nt from designers on Ebay --- actually have nearly all of her clothes made by designers on Ebay! :rotfl: She is a well dressed little girl! ;)
She wears at least 2 custom made Disney outfits a week. :rotfl:

Wow I bet that must be a blast! They must have really great fireworks in Williamsburg. I am bummed I missed ours last night. They lit a few off, but ran into problems so we waited & waited & finally a family passed us & said they were cancelling them & having them the next night so we left. We arrived home & I was letting the dog out & I could hear the booms in the distance. I was so disappointed, but I figure we'll be in WDW in 4 weeks & then we can see all the fireworks we want!

That is what I told DH today!!! :rolleyes1 I really would prefer the fireworks at WDW. I do like the Kingdom the best for fireworks. Epcot does not thrill me like the fireworks over the castle!!:cheer2:

That fellow from Japan finished in second place with 63 hot dogs and buns. I guess his jaw wasn't hurting as much as he was leading on.

I was getting so tired of the man from Japan winning every year. What channel was it on.:confused3 I will see if I can catch it again!!!

I was reading meters that are on the outside of the residents homes. Many of these readers and or touch pad meters are behind bushes. As I was climbing behind one such bush I noticed the poison ivy, I was hoping I hadn't come in contact with it, my luck didn't hold out...............:sad2:

I was just teasing about being in the woods.;) I had poison ivy as a child and I still remember the itching.:headache:

I understand, DD turned 13 in May. You look away for a second and when you look back they are all grown up.

We are seeing this with DD21. A few weeks ago she was 8 now she's 21 and engaged to a young man she has been dating for about a year.

He joined the navy as a medic this year and soon she will be off to places unknown. I think he's a good kid and they will do well together.

In a blink of an eye the children are all grown-up and have children of their own. The best part is becoming a grandparent. You get to have all the fun and none of the work.:woohoo:

We have a plan to do the park in the morning and evening and seek out the air conditioning during the afternoon:confused3
I don't want to overdo it. I had a lumpectomy in April and radiation May-June. Don't let anyone tell you you don't need a mammogram without a family history:rolleyes: I really dodged a bullet, they caught mine very early and I'm fine, just tired from the radiation:)

See we have something very in common. :goodvibes I had my surgery and radiation 6 years ago from this past May. :yay: The radiation does take a lot of energy out of you.:sad2: I dodged the same bullet too! Early detection is the best way to fight the big "C".:cheer2:

Thank you for joining in my "woo hoo for 700"

I'm glad I wasn't alone!!!!

Chrissie

Congrats on the 700th post!!!!:thumbsup2 Good try for the pirate too!!!:woohoo:

I think post #66666 sounds like a whole lot more fun.......

Do you have an evil twin too????:confused3

And what do you know, I got the 66000!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Congrats Andy!!!!:yay: You all made my ketchup a lot harder tonight.;)

Yes, it's just starting to be real . . . we leave three weeks from tomorrow and get back Sept. 1! I'm doing all the planning myself (no Disney excursions) and it's so engrossing that I don't know what I will do with my time this fall. I love the planning stage, though, it's almost as much fun as actually being there.

If you are bored Julie, you can plan all my excursions too!!!:rolleyes1 I hate playing the role of TA!!!

Wow....only $50? That's reasonable for a boutique custom outfit on ebay.

(As I silently say a prayer of thanks that my DD is too old for that style...)

It still has 4 or 5 days left for bidding! LOL! I was really hoping for it to stay close to that price! LOL!

That is what I told DH today!!! :rolleyes1 I really would prefer the fireworks at WDW. I do like the Kingdom the best for fireworks. Epcot does not thrill me like the fireworks over the castle!!:cheer2:

We love sitting outside at the Grand Floridian eating a snack and watching Wishes!!! Usually we are the only ones out there!!!!

Pamela (pdarrah)

Hi Pdarrah --

Ahh . . one of the few people I have actually met in person . . .LOL. Glad you are back, too . . .hope you're having a great summer!

Theresa 8-)

I just thought of something. MR has her annual 4th of July bash. Did any of us get an invitation????:confused3 I hope she gets to chat Friday and I will definitely ask her!!! I hope she doesn't wear out the blender!!!!:rotfl2:
Karen

I never got my invitation either!!!:sad1:

I still love DIS LIME GREEN!!!!

Wow, fooled her, she thinks we know about computers. BTW, don't undersell yourself, you are quite clever and wise, as for humor and wit, you fit in here, so you have some sort of humor or wit (not sure you want to brag about it tho...)

After all you are a lawyer.:rotfl: All these traits are taught to you in law school!!!:scared1:

No fireworks for us today. The big ones in Chicago were last night, but the crowds are so crazy that we never go. Our town waits and does fireworks on the 14th as part of our "Railroad Days" festival. Our town was the first railroad town in Illinois and a major junction. We still have 2 major lines that cross here. One plus of doing fireworks after the 4th is that we get a discount - all the "duds" that didn't fire at all the area shows are refused and used for our show. It tends to be pretty long and spectacular!

I hope everyone here in the states has a great holiday!

pdarrah (Pamela)

Hey pamela let me know where the fireworks are in your town on the 14th.:confused3 I hate the crowds where I live!!!

That's correct Cheryl !! :wave2:

Helen was reading your letter again last night coincidentally !

David

Tell Helen we can say hi in person soon. What time are you leaving on Labor Day???? We need to make plans!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

This any better?

aton1165l.jpg

I know you could do much better than that Tom.

Question???:confused3 :confused3 What post or pm me on how to bring up pictures from the internet. I know you gave directions but now I can't find them.:sad2: PLease!!!:flower3:

Wow! You'll love CW! We live close by! Be sure not to bring any clothing in August . . .LOL. It's super super hot! And walking around CW is very toasty . . .LOl Okay, maybe a few clothes, but be ready :) They are doing some amazing things to celebrate Jamestown's 400th anniversary here. Glad to see Disney in the middle of it, too. Hope it's a great trip!

We love sitting outside at the Grand Floridian eating a snack and watching Wishes!!! Usually we are the only ones out there!!!!

The Grand Floridian is out for this year:sad2: and Pop Century is in.:headache: I wonder how many days I could afford at Grand Floridain instead of Cat 5 on EBPC!!:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Well folks . ..looks like everyone is recovering from all the fireworks watching (and hearing . . .LOL). My mom is visiting tomorrow from afar (that place in the shrek movie . .LOL) Gotta get some shut eye here

Have a terrific July 5th everyone!:thumbsup2

Have a terrific July 5th everyone!:thumbsup2

It's back to work for me! :confused3 Then Friday it's Salisbury, MD then Saturday it's Mt Airy, MD then Sunday it's Hagerstown, MD. That's to prepare for next Friday when we drive to Dallas/Oklahoma City for two weeks. :rolleyes1

Please tell us all about V&A when you get back! I already told my DH that we are going there for our 25th anniversary. I still have about 7 years, but I figure by then the kids will be all grown up & we can do an adults only trip without feeling too guilty. I know people do it all the time, but it just seems like they are already growing so darn fast that I want to get as many WDW trips out of them while they are still young. So V&A will have to wait & I'll just live vicariously through anybody else that goes. ;)

Two words - wonderful & expensive. We've been twice and the food is amazing. Some of the servings are small, but there's usually enough courses that I'm barely able to squeeze in the chocolate souffle (which is the only one I've had that's better than Palo's). My DH eats more, and the first time we ate there he skipped lunch & wanted to order a pizza afterwards :scared1:

You need to make your reservations several months in advance and just as the reservations open up if you want to eat at the Chef's table (in the kitchen - I've heard that it is amazing). Let me know if you have any specific questions.

OK, all caught up. Man, take one day to take the kid to her grandparent's house & things get crazy around here.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!

Greetings from Colorado Springs!

So, I plan to stalk HC tomorrow...
just kidding (I wanted to see the frying pan smilie reserved just for me...)

We got here a day earlier than planned because the back window fell off my car in Nowhereville, Colorado. I'm not kidding

THE BACK WINDOW FELL OFF MY CAR!!!!

I don't have an ancient hunk of junk. I have a 3 year old Explorer. The tailgate can open 2 ways: the window pops up, or the entire tailgate door can pop up. Well, when we stopped for lunch, DH opened the back window to get something out of the car and it popped off one of the hinges. It was interesting getting it back in place since we had to colapse one of those hydrolic arm thingies. Not fun, especially in 98-degree-Nowhereville-Colorado- on-a-holiday. So right now, my back window is being held on with duct tape, rachet straps, and happy thoughts.

We pressed on to Colorado Springs with the hope of getting the car to a shop tomorrow morning. We planned to be here 2 days anyway, so we should be able to remain on whatever we have that resembles a schedule. We are going to rent a car and carry on with the fun stuff while the family truckster gets fixed.

These are the things memories are made of, right???

Lots of pages that I can't catch up with right now, but THANKS J.R. FOR THE WEB SITE! It looks great!

Andy,Sorry about the Poison Ivy. I Hope it gets better real soon:) Congrats on 66000!!!

sk8ingmom-- Safe travels. I 've enjoyed reading your blog and seeing the photos. I've always wanted to drive cross country. But I've never been able to talk anybody into going with me. :upsidedow

Hope everyone has a very Happy Thursday!!!

The RCCL 3 nt cruise we are going on in Aug. has dropped down to a starting price of $179.00 pp. Pretty amazing when you consider what we are all paying for the TOAL! ;) Anyway my sister called & got us a credit of $80 per stateroom. Can you beat it? :woohoo:

May I ask which ship and sailing date is this? It sounds like a good deal - and some of you out there know how much my spouse and I love a deal! Not that we can make it - as we're travelin' August 1-15 already.... but my spouse did remind me we have a certain number of days vacation unallocated. And though we intend to use most of it to visit with family - we will probably sprinkle one little vacation in the year remaining to us.
