Dagggg... Caroline's even been away from us for 4-5 months and she's still way ahead of me...

Just a passing thought... We have some dear friends who would love to go on this cruise with us, so if anyone cancels (or knows someone who cancels) would you mind PM-ing me? That way we could call in just in time.

Yeah ummmm... That won't work... Disney's keeping a tight eye on any cabin changes to people not on the original ressie and the originals removed on this Repo. They will call your TA and take it right back...

Andy tried to give someone his and they yanked it from the new peep's TA after the name changes.

I'm reading about every 5th page and bumped into this. There will be between 1 and 7 of us. Yeah - really helpful, I know... We are traveling with another family, and I'm not certain they'll want to go. So we probably won't know until that day. We'll be arriving early and leaving early as we have Fantasmic Dinner Pkg at the Brown Derby that night. Unless we feel like begging off (yeah - 24 hour cancellation - thank's for the reminder.)

Say... I've got a 8:10 am ADR for breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table for Tue 8/28. Table for 4. I don't think we'll be using it. Does anyone want it? (Actually, there's a good chance this will turn into 2 tables for 4 if the other family doesn't want their's either.)

Congrats on your 1/2 Win! We have our big Summer Classic going on here in OKCity this weekend. I plan on checking it out on Sat. for the boxer Specialty.

Have fun! We had surprisingly large entries in Weimaraners in Montana. It was a fun crowd though. And everyone got a piece of the action. We didn't have any dogs who dominated the circuit. It was nice. I'll post our win picture when I get it.

Tom aw Thank you so much for you kindness ! This morning's news is that Chuck's ITT guys are confident they can at least save my info. So fingers crossed, I won't give up because there is to much for me to lose.

Well...

.... that's great! I'm sure professional IT guys can handle basic recovery routines - even "I" know some basic stuff to do. Alas, if they can't recover the data - try to get their explanation of what they tried and what they're encountering. And maybe I can get my pal to try his hand at it - if ya like.

Aside from that - today I bought a new external HD enclosure - with (arrgh) a rebate. Oh well... I'll out it together next week when I get back from Yosemite and Sequoia. We now have 3 families going and it's about the right size gathering for the trip.

Now for a quick glance at recent postings before I tidy up any loose ends for the trip tomorrow...

She's baaaack. Sheez. June was like h**l month. I basically wasn't home for the entire month. Some for business, and some for pleasure.

DS10 and I just got back from 12 days in Montana for an 8 dog show circuit (Billings, Great Falls, Missoula). We got dumped a lot, but won on the last day - so it was worth it. Rather than coming home with a finished Champion, I'm coming home with half a champion. Still - we had a great time. And Montana was beautiful!! We stopped at Yellowstone on the way there and Jakob took a bunch of pictures. I'll have to upload some and share.

Looks like I'm only 250 pages behind - which for 3+ weeks isn't too terrible. Of course, I won't have a chance to read it all - I'll have to go catch the summaries!

I hope it's all been good news and lovely weather since I've been gone...

Welcome Back!! Congrats on your half Champion. You should still be very proud.

I can tell you Downers Grove was covered with those bugs. I haven't really driven out of my comfort zone yet.........Glad to hear your not far away. Are you going to the mini-meet?






Well at least the kids are the same age I will tell her I know someone will be at meet that is her age. I just won't mention that it is a boy.
I also have noticed gas price changes from one block to another !!! We took DD to navy pier last Sunday for a break and she took a picture of the gas price of 3.84. Grant you that was the city but even in Woodridge is so much more expensive then what I was paying in NY.

My wife was saying DG (which is where she works) was full of cicadas too. We have very few out here in Bolingbrook, but then again, 17-years-ago, this was nothing but flat farmland and no trees.

I saw $3.09 for gas last night in Plainfield. Figures I had already filled up.

Hey, can you explain your post a little for me? I don't understand what "half a champion" means. I guess that's a good thing, but I know nothing about dog shows or how they work.

From my limited dog show knowledge. I'll try to simply. I'm sure Esteri will add anything i leave out.

AKC breeds have a designation for pure bred dogs as champions ( CH gets added after their full registered name) (Kinda like Dr. after a doctor's name)

The designation itself means that your breeder gets bragging rights and that this dog also would be a good representative to breed for future litters. (also, puppies of champions tend to cost more.)

In order to get this designation, you attend AKC dog shows all over the country sometime.

At each sanctioned AKC match the winners of each breed catagory (they are divided by breed, then by age, then by male/female). The winners of the category your dog is in (i think 1st place only) gets a certain amount of champion points. Points are determined by the amount of dogs entered in that class in that particular show.

(i'm not sure of exact numbers but let me give you an example: Say a first place will get you 3 pts. You will need to place 1st in ten shows for your dog to earn its champion title (then you actually can compete as a veteran "i think")

Clear as mud?

She means half a champion because she was hoping to gain enough points to "finish" (ie get enough points for) it's champion title. Guess her dog only has half the number it needs right now.

Qtr is almost over.. not been a good one but then 3rd qtr looks good.. if I am still employed..


I have been giving Geoff driving lessons... and I am very proud of him, he is doing fine and so far I haven't yelled at him so I think things are going well. Eric s in football camp and loves it.. Summer school session one is over on the 3rd.. finals et al.. and then both boys have 2nd session starting July 5th.
I have been talking with them about what to do for the 4th.. since it is only one day.. But i think I get out of work at 3 pm, so we could go camping for a night and hiking. i am thinking of starved rock or another state park.. Eric vetoed that idea.. he wants to go to 6 Flags, but Geoff and Scott vetoed that idea.. I then thought about the Taste.. but DH said no.. what to do..

Dh wants to do a movie day this weekend.. so if we go, I am going to see POTC3 and the rat...
