Nawww....

.... New. And I won a pair tonight for $105. So the spouse is happy to have a pair to try.

<chuckles>..... U-S-E-D ..... like I would.... <chuckles>

Yea Tom!!!!:cheer2: Let us know if the shoes are worth the money.:rolleyes1 I only like Nikes with the air. :woohoo: I would be willing to try a new brand.:)

Just got off the phone making dinner reservations for Sunday at Goofys Kitchen. We are going to DL this weekend to scope out the new Pirate Lair on Tom Sawyers Island. Found this map from the Orange County Regester. There is a lot of information on Mouseinfo about the interactive goodies that they added.

Tell us all about it with pictures.:woohoo: I am sooooo jealous. I have not been to DL in over 25 years!!!!

Well...not going to get ketched up tonight...and my shift is over...slow night after 10:30 so I did make some progress here. Just a few things while they are still fairly topical on the past week or so.

I am scheduled for over 60 hours standby and a few priority during each week so far. Some days the jobs are steady but others I have taken a nap on the couch inbetween jobs before the kids get home from school.

I took the weekend off to spend with the family. Saturday we just relaxed & didn't do a whole lot after the initial morning cleaning. I ran to the Mall after we saw Shrek 3 and picked up a ton of the B&BW soaps for about 1.50 each. :) Sale was 5 for $10 and I had a 10 off 30 coupon. :)

Sunday we packed up the van early and headed for the beach. It was a great day...though I now have to search for our suits and coverups from the last day at CC last cruise. :( DD is missing a suit and princess coverup & a CC coverup and I have a suit missing. :( I ended up with a burn on my shoulders & upper back but DS was much worse. :( DH didn't put lotion on his back because he had a sleeveless shirt on and said that he wasn't going in the water. Well...guess who surfed on his boogie board for 4 hours? :( He broke out yesterday afternoon so I took him to the doctor today. Not sure if it is sunpoisoning or an allergic reaction to Monday's activities but he is on a strong anti-itch med now.

Monday we went to a friend's for a pool party/cookout. The kids had fun swimming with the neighbor kids. I worked that night.

The kids get out of school next Thursday. I have off Friday morning and we are going to the pool to celebrate!

Glad job is working out.:woohoo: I do hope DS is better by now!!!:thumbsup2 Shopping Alert!!! Target has all the $1 goodies at 75 % off today!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi -
I'm packiing - my son-in-law is graduating college tomorrow & then we're off to Las Vegas to celebrate - he's a Monty Python fan so we're seeing "Spamalot"

I really am dis-addicted - I am bringing my laptop along! LOL! Along w/champagne and a triple chocolate cake!
Will miss chat yet again - one of these days.....I keep saying that!

Cheers!

Hopefully you will get to chat one of these days.:flower3: Have a great time in Vegas.:woohoo:

How could you object to a Mickey tattoo? Just can't be done (when you have the DISease)

Guess what my DD second tattoo was???:confused3  Yep, the Mickey Mouse icon!!! Now she is now married to a very conservative lawyer. She does keep:woohoo: his life exciting as well as mine too!!!

Disney Rewards Visa has a special on the transatlantic repo, $1099 per adult with $100 OBC (cat 12).....

I do not think DCL could pay me enough money to take the cruise.

M? Oh, M!! Look what I found on another thread...

On my last trip, I found out through another guest that you can get a character to come to your room and give you an hour back massage. It was a lot of fun. I chose Belle from beauty and the beast and my wife chose Goofy. It was a lot of fun, and the back rub was pretty good.

It cost $65 for the hour, plus tip. I highly recommend it.

Can you say, "Hello, Please send Prince Eric over for a back massage??""

(I'd post the URL to the thread, but I haven't figured out how to insert it. Is it just a regular copy paste from the IE bar at the top? somehow that doesn't seem right. Someone clue me in and I'll edit this post.)

Yes, the one on Roselle between Schaumburg Rd. and Higgins. Both of my boys went to school there; my oldest through 4th grade before we moved to Bolingbrook.

Tell Cheryl we're waiting on her. Lunch/dinner, whatever would be fine and the Schaumburg area would work for me.

I am a product manager for the large (but shrinking daily :sad2:)telecommunications company headquartered in Schaumburg.

I think I know which company you work for!!!:confused3

Just hope you aren't part of the latest 4000..

Duh!!!! I now realize for sure the company JR works for!!!

I think we are going to miss each other. We are there July 19-22.

Wasn't there going to be a mini meet out Chicagoland way? Oh, Cheryl!

Yes I was trying to plan it sometime in July if we can all get together. There is a person moving here in June. I just can not remember her board name. She was living in New York!!!Would you be willing for a little travel???

Yep we have been talking about a Chicago meet. Are you close enough to join us? Cheryl was talking about Sweet Tomotes in June??

Yes Susan, it is me. We should meet for lunch and figure out a date for everyone to meet.:woohoo: Would July work for you too????

:thumbsup2 , dear moushouseman, you make me feel alot better,

:goodvibes , from your insightful inputties . [p.s.she off somewhere

isn't she? ]

:lmao:

Lil' Grumpy I am always off somewhere. Mentally too:lmao: :lmao: We never get to see much of each other. I think he might like it that way.

You know, if we keep making these type of comments about our spouses on here, we might just have to room together on the cruise. There are no couches in the lobby for me to sleep in.

Now I really can't wait to meet your wife!!;) :woohoo: Is July okay with you????? Saturday, Sunday or whatever???:confused3

Yep that's my Cheryl, keep after her, maybe she'll listen to someone else, lord knows after 39 years she certainly isn't listening to me.

Oh Cheryl, I know you'll read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John

You almost got away with me seeing this!!! If JR didn't quote you, I skimmed right over your post!!!

If I ever did listen to you, you would die from shock.:rotfl2: I would like to keep you around for a few more years:hug: :woohoo: This means I will continue not listening to you.:rolleyes1

dearest micme03:

 ..our baby boys are no longer in their teens....:rolleyes1 ,
one just turned 20...& the other 23...buttie, they haven't given
up their stinky teens..ways..yet...

because of that...we are putting them in their own room, preferable

Hello Friends! Well I just came back from yet another Rosacea treatment and guess what???

MY FACE HURTS!

I took 3 Advil, but now I'm heading for the booze!

So stay tuned while I catch up :rotfl2:

Oh MR, sorry about the face pain. Can't wait to see where the booze takes us this evening...

Wow Diane my family is exactly the same way! Must be the Irish in us is right! I always think of it as a way to release the tension, but sometimes I'm just inappropriate (what??? who me??? inappropriate?? NEVER) :rotfl2: :lmao:

Keep drinkin' O'Blender.

You know my family doesn't drink much when someone passes, but we sure do eat a lot. Everyone we know and even people we don't know bring piles of food and it would just be rude not to eat it right? I remember after my Mom died, my sister and I sat at the table working on the plans for the service and managed to eat an entire pan of brownies just by picking off a piece at time. We looked at each other and couldn't believe that we devoured the entire 9 X 13 pan all by ourselves. I guess it was the ultimate comfort food at that moment. We still laugh about it today!

Growing up, I was the token non-Irish Catholic kid in my class - and I went to public school! I grew up in a very Irish area. When my Mom died, everyone brought food. She also left a houseful of men - my dad, 2 brothers (15 & 20) & my grandpa. Mom died in April. When I went home for Thanksgiving, I found foil wrapped baked potatoes that some kind neighbor had brought in April

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My DS especially loves when I demonstrate my disco moves while singing "Shake Your Booty" at the top of my lungs! :rotfl2:

It's a little known fact that this is the exact reason why there are adult dance clubs onboard. If all the clubs were all ages, no self respecting ST would set foot on the ship!

Stace have a fantabulous trip!!! We'll miss you!

Point of clarification - can something be superty fantabulous?

M? Oh, M!! Look what I found on another thread...

Can you say, "Hello, Please send Prince Eric over for a back massage??""

OH! How many days out can we book this???

(please PM the answer - BACK OFF MARY, HE'S MINE!!!!!)

Ok so I'm quoting myself - too long and too detailed to retype.

Ok all - here's what's been happening.

1. Scary home situation still on hold. I'm playing ostrich in the hopes that things aren't really happening. :)

2. Came home from dinner last night to find that our 'girls' had escaped their cell (backyard) and were runnig loose. Luckily, someone happened to hear them in their yards and went out to investigate. Isis (our B&W) husky came into their yard because she'd seen their cat. Chloe - our white husky - is a follower and clumsy as heck so SHE ran into their trashcan and knocked it over. Well, they recognized them from DD and I walking them periodically and knew they were local so even though they look intimidating - she took a chance and tried to catch them. They both had their collars on but it took a while. Eventually they rounded them up and took them inside. They WONDERFUL people put their own dogs in the back (theirs are inside dogs too) and allowed my "brats" ( ) to stay inside. Once they were inside - they went directly to the dogs blankets and laid down. Chloe was the first to allow them to pet her and that was when they got a chance to read the tags. Because it was late - they didn't catch our address on the tag but did a reverse phone number lookup and caught our address that way. Amazingly - they'd been out for about a 1/2 hr. The lady said that they were very skittish and scared and their hearts were really pounding but once inside they settled down - well the white one did - Isis - would just pace but would settle down long enough to be spoken and head patted only. Chloe would lie down and roll over to have her tummy scratched along with her neck. That Dog is a sucker for neck rubs. She's easily bought!

Anyway, since we got back late, I was scared to see this person standing inf front of DH's car wearing a black hoodie and 'casing' out the house but it turns out that my angel was just leaving an additional note telling us where to find the dogs. Bless her heart. Her house is on the corner of a MAJOR HEAVILY TRAVELED THOROUGHFARE! We were extremely lucky that they weren't run over. I know exactly what happened/ Isis broke through our very old wooden gate and the rope holding it together busted. She took off and Chloe followed. Even though they are micro-chipped. These dogs rarely are turned back in. In fact, there has been a rash of husky-napping around here. So I consider myself extremely blessed that my girls are back home! THANK YOU GOD! AND MY GIRLS ANGEL!

Now I really must do something good for them. I was thinking some kind of fruit basket or something like that - would do you guys think? I didn't even think about a reward but I did ask her what I could do to thank her. Her response - do something nice for someone else. What a lady I tell you. And a wonderful experience in meeting a new/old neighbor. She's lived there for years but out here -if your more than 2 houses away - we're basically all strangers. She said that while she was scared to approach them she had a hunch they were inside dogs as Chloes coat was too white and shiny to look like they were outside dogs.

3. I have signed on to do the WB Transatlantic Repo cruise. :woohoo: :woohoo: I was 'informed' this morning by a friend that she managed to book some of the last cat 12's that went on special. I thought about this, checked with DH and DD14 about going. While DD wasn't happy - she said - go ahead. I know you need time away. DH said that if this is what I want to do then I should go ahead as we may never have another year like the kind we're having. VERY BUSY at work. HHHMMMM...wonder if he is just trying to get me out of his hair? Oh who cares - as long as I get to visit some of my childhood longings. I always thought it would be nice to visit the rock of Gilbralter. Now, I'm going to get the chance.

I've always wanted to see it ever since as a child, anyone remember those traveling encyclopedia salespeople that would sell those special, classic books? You spent lots of $$ for color pictures - an 'heirloom' to pass on to your kids? Yeah - those - well, back in '72 or thereabouts my father bought them for us kids and I remember looking at this 'special' place in the world and saying to myself - I'm going there one day. I'm happy because I get to knock off another one of my places-to-visit-before-I-die list. I truly am blessed to have such a wonderful life.

And that brings me back to my original point - sorry its so long - just when I think I'm having a bad time, I get knocked up alongside my head and makes me open my eyes to realize - I truly am blessed. I could have lost 2 very important people WELL OK - their dogs - but their still family and instead I still have them. My girls are alive and well - the human ones that is and DH is super supportive and happy that I'm going. (I'm leaving that one alone ) What more could a girl ask for?

Ok - on to introduce myself to the other thread! Final payment being made Friday at 3 pm EST.

Nah, my wife's response was, 'well, it's a little different when the guy in question is Orlando Bloom'.

Well DUH! :headache: Hello - just take a look at the boy! Some may call him a man, some call him a boy - I just call him a doll! LOL - I would feel dirty if I tried to 'hook' (Get it as in Capt Hook? :lmao: ) up with him.

Just trying to make us jealous.....

And she managed it in such an innocent way.....:rolleyes1

And the award for the most masterful and effective line of BS goes to....

:lmao:

Boy he jumped for that one!

May be true - but Capt Crash is a  and my Knight in Shining armor! (He managed to turn a bad situation from turning into a worse one and allowed me to get some shots that I would otherwise of lost because dufus me - forgot to carry an extra card for my then fairly new 30D camera. When my card malfunctioned - he graciously allowed me to borrow one of his. To which I am eternally grateful for........ Thank you Tom! Hi Alicia! Can't wait to sail with you again!)

 Mornin

It's morning, but it's not all that good. We only had about three hours sleep as Hazel's nephew Johnny had an accident right in front of our house about 12:15 this morning, needless to say, none of us got much sleep last night. Johnny is OK, but his car is a total loss. It's time to get back to work.

I just want to thank you all for your warm thoughts, words of wisdom, laughs etc. You can not begin to know how much it means to come here & see all the words of support. You know it's funny, because a lot of my friends & family do not understand my obsession with Disney, the Dis boards & in particular this thread. They ask, "How can you talk to these people you don't even know?" Well I can't really explain it to them. How I feel when I am at WDW or on a cruise with my family is beyond words. It's not an amusement park or even just a vacation to me, it's my sanity. I cherish those moments with my children more than anything in the world. Maybe because I didn't have them growing up. I love to talk to people who have a like minded obsession. And I especially feel as if I know each and everyone of you in some way. I know some of your quirks, what makes you laugh, happy, angry, etc. I only look forward to getting to know you all in person. Thanks again! :grouphug:

You said that beautifully!!! :grouphug: to everyone in this group!

Julie I am so sorry your mother died so young. That is very sad. But you're right...there is a little child in all of us & that is exactly how I felt when I got the news yesterday. I curled up in a little ball & cried for my Mommy. :sad1: My mother has had problems with learning, mental illness, substance abuse, etc. & she was not an easy mother to have, but yet she was still my Mom & there was always hope that some day she would see the light & be the mother I always wanted her to be. Even though that hope was unrealistic, it was competely gone yesterday & that is what hurt the most. Sorry I don't mean to be so maudlin, but you hit the nail on the head with your words of wisdom. Thank you so much!

Diane, I am so sorry for the sense of loss that you are feeling. Just remember that you did nothing to make your mother who she was. It was her choice and hers alone. It has made you the person you are today and probably more deterimined to not perpetuate that attitude. YOU are the new start for happiness in your family. :grouphug:
