:offtopic: Going off topic here......

I am spending next week in beautiful Memphis. (I'll be taking a course at UT.) Does anyone have any recommendations for good BBQ? I'll be staying downtown and will not have a car. PM me if you have any suggestions. (The folks here have either never been to Memphis or have no idea what real & good BBQ is.) Thanks!

Back to the topics at hand:
-POC ending and what does it all mean
-large swords
-small swords
-The Captain in shorts
-Is it Black t-******* for embarkation?

Corky's! I get it delivered to my house. ;)

:....

cpt. crash? games people play...? have you ever played the airport
scrabble version?...my lil'miss...loves taking everything including
the kitchen sink...so the rest of us, are baggage handlers...
* one of the funniest thing happened last year...when they "selected"
my wife for body search [:lmao: ]...she was  , and pointed
directly @ me..."how come you all not searching him...he looks alot
more suspicious than me."...."the game"...is taking pics., peering
behind a small mountain..."got game?"

new characters?....well i think a new story involving lil'grumpy & wives
for all the dwarfs + kiddos....taking auntie snow white, on their first
disney cruise...dressed in lime green...:disrocks:

How funny...

... I too am a beast of burdon for my spouse when traveling. SHe seems to show so little regard for the volume or weight of what she packs for me to lug. That is, until the airlines started enforcing weight penalties on individual bags checked. LOL! Now my back has been spared some punishment by the stiffer conduct standards!

On the "body search" and arguement on who's more suspicious... I'm afraid I have to side with my ilk and say the ladies need a little pat down to keep 'em in line. In fact, I believe an occasional body search with greater scrutiny is required. And in my spouses' case on numerous occasions I've volunteered to render services in support of National Security. All at no additional expense to the tax-payer! How nice of me, eh?

AND may I add that I find your new character plot line to be entertaining! I don't suppose I can get a walk on role? I don't need a speaking or named role. I just wanna join the fun somehow!:)

Spoiler ...Highlight to read

It was never explained if it was just 10 years then your service was done ....If anything it was forever and only being able to be on land Once every ten years .....If your theory is true , then what would become of the Flying Dutchman ??? It needs and must have a Captain ...What about Wills Heart ?? Its still in the Chest ...Once your bound to the Dutchman you are bound to it till the heart is stabbed ....I know your referring to the Play ...But I am basing my theory on the POTC script....they took the consept of the Flying Dutchman and ran with it ...so sticking with the POTC script then he is bound to the Dutchman forever ...kinda like the same thing as Calypso ...Yes she is a mythical thing creature goddess or whatever you want to call her , but they did go there on way with her as well .....most all questions will be answered when Pirates of the Caribbean : Curse of the Dead Mans World comes out ...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Edit ....after doing some extensive research ...there was a key scene that was cut from the Movie between Davy Jones and Tia (calypso) ....after finding out what the scene intailed , I have to say now the the Curse of the Flying Dutchman on Will has been broken after the ten years ...

Wow !!! what can I say ...It was a wild weekend here in Vegas ...But I first wanna say I want to thank my Sweet Melissa for helping me everyday with makeup and such and also to thank the great Management and Staff at the Red Rock Stations Regal Cinema , they were great in everyway ....Now on to the details ..

.....

Friday -Saturday and Sunday ...Picture Days

...Pictures with CJS for a Buck to help raise money ...the theater was packed , they had a nice huge CJS movie banner with Pirate flags and this would be my back drop for the photos ....I wont bore everyone with all the details but I know now what Disney Characters feel like after spending 6 to 7 hours a day doing this ...but in the end it was well worth it

Here are a bunch of pictures ...not so much of the crowd but plenty of pics ...

XHCQX-DSC_0018.JPG

All in all it was a good weekend ...Im extremely exhausted but well worth it ....we raised over 1300.00 dollars and that all goes to the charity ...not bad considering that it was a dollar a picture , though some people would leave a little more ...It was there #1 fund raiser that they have ever had at the theater and they were more then thankful ....Anyway ...Hope you enjoyed my little report ...Oh and by the way ..Yes I had to deal with some crying kids ...ST'S and women including older women grouping me ...LOL

Take What you Can !!!!! Give Nothing Back !!!!

Todd...

... that's really nice with the proceeds raised! ANd the photos of your current CJS is fantastic! Terriffic attention to detail... my compliments on a great recreation! I'd say you should have had a suggested donation of $5 a shot with a posted "groping allowed for $50" rate! Sounds a little scary but it might have boosted the proceeds while reducing your fatigue! And just for chuckles ... you could have also posted that "NO amount too small for <charity name> a photo opportunity with CJS"!

I edited the photos to reduce bandwidth hogging and left the image above as one of the ones I felt represented the attention to detail well.

Todd, thank you my wife is very happy now, it seems she needed your approval sice you are CJSpirate:

I agree . . . and to think, they won't ever get to the point where they nag each other about the little things or get on each other's nerves! There are certainly worse things than one fabulous day every ten years . . . .

That's funny. My wife made some comment about only having, umm, relations once every ten years and I said "Well, he's married, so that's probably about right, isn't it?"

Evening all !!

Pleased to announce that after 4 days of constant rain here in the UK, the sun came out late this afternoon.

As a result, Alex and Bethan have been out in the back garden for over an hour celebrating (playing on their bikes actually).

Had a nice surprise in the post today, a DVC DVD advertising the new-build at the Animal Kingdom Villas. Unfortunately, as it's Region 1 coded we can't watch it on the TV so me and Helen are just about to settle down and watch it on the computer - have any USA members received this DVD yet??

Back later.

David

Dave,

We received ours last week. DVC AKL looks cool. We're planning on staying there next Spring.

Happy for you that the sun came out, too bad for Wales as they lost to Austrailia in the last 10 sec of their international test.

Say hi to Helen for us.

Now go out and get your dose of vitamin D.:)

Really she is that upset? I thought it was all very romantic! Just a little different kind of happily ever after. More bittersweet, but that is what makes it special.

I wasn't thrilled with the ending either, not b/c of Will and Elizabeth but because of the 'made for a sequel' nature.

:thumbsup2 Yeah, makes sense now. I read on the legend of FD and Disney did veer off into their own interpretation. Maybe that scene would have helped a bit...not that it mattered to movie length! After 2.5 hours my add is asleep anyway!

In honor of all our what's for dinner chat...

Parrrrsley!!

And in case you're interested (or not!) we had chicken and a mystery meat (leftovers) in a mild thai penut / coconut sauce over rice with mixed veggies, and Issac's birthday cookies for dessert. It was yummy!

No parsley in sight. :rotfl2:

Odd, I thought it was ARR-REGANO?

Yeah! I'm glad we agree:)

"Mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce, whooooooo!"

I was so aggravated I wanted to cry. The stupid shutter wouldn't retract just kept giving me some error. If Shutters would have been open I would have bought a new one that morning, but not much to do about it when your camera breaks after midnight on a port day.:sad2:

I had my way-too-expensive camcorder do that on my first cruise. The tape ejector stuck and wouldn't keep the tape in (and it is an electronic kind, so taping it wouldn't work). The thing nearly went flying against the wall of the cabin, I was so furious.

I've said before though, this is why I like the DIS. In December, we kept forgetting our camera in our stateroom. But so many others took photos, we ended up with pictures of just about everything we wanted.

Four options:
1. Drive to the outskirts of town and look for some run-down, dilapidated woodshed type of place with smoke coming out from the back and "BBQ" painted on the side of a slab of driftwood...
2. Go to the center of town, find a street busy with pedestrian traffic and yell out "WHERE IS THE BEST BARBECUE IN THIS TOWN?"...do this at 10am so that the arguments will die down by noon
3. ANYWHERE
4. Corky's as previously mentioned... www.corkysmemphis.com

Your consultation fee is one pound of pulled pork and two slabs of ribs FedEx'ed to my house ;)

That's funny. My wife made some comment about only having, umm, relations once every ten years and I said "Well, he's married, so that's probably about right, isn't it?"

Can you post the picture of your face today with the two black eyes and broken nose, please?

:thumbsup2 .. ...

....has anyone have thoughts about the trip report done by
someone aunt? the writer felt they had a whole new crew working,
reducing the services they were expecting ? * i can only compared
to our 11~dayer cruise last fall..the weather was beautiful, but
there were so much going on....it didn't matter. there were strange
things....like the family beach was not crowded....& at the farewell
party, cindy was by herself.....needless to say, "i" took advantage
of getting a pic.. , all i can say..we were very impressed &

 ..that cruise! [ @ st. kitts, we did the railroad..& met a lady
who was crusing with her 80's something mother..., she was a "hooter",
....jumping in to help us take the pictures...pointing things out &
tasting all the drinks...:yay: . jimmy the momkee was :cool2: ,though
he liked biting. i see alot people complaining about the food...but
i can't see anyone going hunger...* i don't know if some are aware, but
if you wander in the evenings, they set up lil'food stations all over the
place. & of course, we  the ariel show....we are hoping they do
more cruises like this one again, on our last rotation...we became
honorary mousketters...and given badges too! my only complaint~
having to get off the ship! has anyone ever recorded the lil' show
they do in the morning....a lil' pep talk about the adventure & then
they played disney songs....:)

then there was another posting where the person made palo's
res. 105 days out? i thought it was 90 days?....wondering if there
going to be hard to get on this cruise? [3am-seem awful early to me]

........
?

I feel compelled to chime in with agreement again. I thought the 11 day southern we were on was fantastic! I did NOT hear many or really any complaints of any sort. SO I was spared what you encountered. And I thought the whole thing was pretty much what we had experienced in the past with the new shows, ports and longer duration of course.

If I were to be critical however - just for conversation - I would like to have greater variety in Topsiders ... and I think the adult or teen pool could use a slide too... a really long and fast one! Maybe the new ships will offer this... or a wave pool? As something like that is the only way I'm gonna ever get a chance to try surfing - seein' as I don't swim very well.

Aside from that - I would also not mind seeing more optional dining venues. This would support more dining variety on longer voyages.

OK... that's enuf fer now...
