Hello Everyone!

Thank you all for the Birthday greetings!

We're all busy getting ready for my DD's Party. Johnna and I and the kids went out for sushi yesterday for my Birthday. I just love plum wine!

My rugby team made it to the National Division 1 Sweet sixteens in Columbia SC. I'm sad I can't be with them today. We'll see how they fare. First time for us in Div. 1 playoffs.

Hope everyone has a nice day. All of those going on the European Cruises enjoy your preparations. Have some Campari for me!

Thanks!

Peter:)

Happy Birthday Peter! That is great about the rugby tourny!
Congrats also to DD on this big day. Couldn't you fit anything else in this weekend?????

Funny, we got a call at 9:30 last night. They just finished first communion practice & realized DS8 wasn't there. We signed him up at the beginning of the year, but only went to one class. They changed the way the classes are taught at our church and it is now basically sit together in the church and teach your own kid while a 'teacher' walks around to see how you are doing. That proved to be difficult since I am not Catholic & DH is gone a lot. I can teach him all about being Episcopalian, but that didn't seem to help. We knew DH would be gone this weekend & the grandparents wouldn't be able to make it up here, so he's waiting until next year. It is like getting a 2 for 1 deal since DS6 will be in 2nd grade next year.

Morning Everyone:goodvibes

A little overcast today. Hope it doesn't rain while I'm out at the Port! Congrats also to DD on this big day.

Couldn't you fit anything else into this weekend???

Just noticed onthe Cruise Board that she is sailing at 4pm and not 5 as I previously thought so I need to go a bit earlier. Hope tp get some pics and video. Just realized, I don't have any T s***t to wear other than my DCL. DH has a pirate one he will wear. He had a dream last night that the CG arrested us for trying to pirate the MAGIC. :rotfl: He never remembers his dreams.

If that happens, make sure to PM me. I think I might know someone.

:)

Why am I up so early on a Saturday (or apparently Sunday) morning? I have to run a health fair for work, then off to Cub Scout bridging and rocket launch. I was 'that person' in Costco yesterday! I had two of the giant flat cars full of food...and three orders to pay for. I'm feeding 50-75 hf volunteers breakfast and lunch this morning & 150 Cub Scouts and family this afternoon.

UGH. I'm tired already.

Hi Andrew

Last time I was in Majorca was May 1994 (Alcudia)

My in-laws are flying out there from Cardiff in 12 days time - not sure where they're staying though.

David

The last time I was there was in the winter of 1973. I found a great Chinese restaurant! :thumbsup2

Oi !! That's our next Prime Minister you're talking about, there :)

David

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ,:sad2:

Until he has the guts to go to the public for an Election, and I guess you will not see eye to eye on that one with me!!:sad1:

Sounds good I hope to go back to DL CL pre cruise in 2008.

And us too !! :cool1:

I am resting this weekend, as i have had very high blood pressure which has been causing headaches, my next trip is in two weeks when on Saturday 26th I will go to Majorca with the kids for a week.

Andrew

A serious thought, why don't you give the computer a break for a day or two as the screen and concentrating too long is not going to help any headache.

Best wishes

David

I have been cutting down as yes at times it doesnt help, today has been a good day, but I am not going to overdo it, I have limited to short bursts will be off again soon.

Its worse at night as the natural light is better with the screen.

Thanks

Good news about the team. It's always great when a team does well - it's rewarding for the supporters who follow them over the season.

Why would he want an election - he doesn't have to. In Britain, we don't elect a Prime Minister, we elect a Government.:)

Well...

... looks like I missed another round of Friday nite chat. Our daughters' gymnastics class was cancelled on account of her coach being sick... so we substituted with a spur of the moment run to Disneyland. Traffic was nominally a pain being a friday afternoon - but we got there just under 3 hours drive... including a 30 minute detour for dinner (take out boxes for the park) and a 20 minute diversion to meet enroute to consolidate into one van for the drive. The distance is only about 67 miles but we had to take a zig zag approach to avoid traffic snarls... and to use car pool lanes. Only we found on one long stretch (91 freeway) they had closed most of the car pool lane for rennovation. The 67 mile drive on an early Sunday morning can take as little as 70 minutes... so yeah... increasing it to just over 2 hours adjusted for the 2 stops is not really too bad.

So... tomorrow there's a Mommy and Daughter Karate class... and I think my spouse is gonna enroll our 2 kids into Chinese school. I don't converse in Chinese anymore so am throughly out of practice. And it would be nice if we could provide some cultural enrichment for our kids. Locally we have a well resolved program that attracts students for quite a distance - and the total attendance easily spans several hundred students for the once a week classes. I was astonished at how many students attended when we surveyed the program a few weeks ago. Plus... we're getting encouragement from others in the community to send our kids in.

Aside from that... Sunday we were gonna do Disneyland - and now we won't. So that opens up our Sunday for other diversions to celebrate Mothers' Day. I'll confide a little something... I still don't know WHAT to get for my spouse. I've been with her 23 (24?) years ... so I have a clear idea of what she does NOT want - and just about everything she might want has been given to her... or she got it on her own. The same is almost true for me (I still don't have a Viper in the driveway or a current model DSLR). So... I am left mildly perplexed over what to get. The kids already have hand made gifts for Mom from school... and I think I might just sneak off to Costco to get a nice floral arrangement for presentation Sunday. anyone have any creative suggestions over what I should consider giving for Mothers' Day?

Glad you had fun at DL. Tom, that is a very neat thing about sending the girls to Chinese school. I have never heard of that.

I know what you mean about not knowing what to get for your DW. I never have any suggestions for Christmas, birthdays etc for anyone to get me. I have plenty of "wants" but they are all terribly expensive things ad that is why we don't get them. We have basically stopped buying each other things and just enjoy the vacations we take. We usually just do cards.:)

It isn't any better here. The "people" don't elect the President either.:sad2:

Now I am off for a much needed pedi, mani, waxie and color!

Tonight we are going to remember Alan's Dad's birthday. It is so hard to believe he will be gone a year this June.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Andy, glad you got the cards!!

Had fun in chat tonight! Night all:)

Jordan!

Awww...thank you. At least I can enjoy something for the fruits of my labor!

I posted this on the main board:-

Today May 12 Disney Magic Goes To Europe

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today is finally the day the MAGIC sets sail for Europe. For the next 14 days she will be making her way across the Atlantic to her new summer home in the MED.

I will be going on one of the 11 night Med cruises in July.

I just want to say thank you to DCL for considering the people of Europe in bringing the flagship of the DCL to the Med, hope it isn't just a one off, and maybe when the two new ships come we will be considered.

Good luck to all the cruisers, on todays trans Atlantic crossing, please keep us informed as I am sure its going to be a very special cruise.

After Castaway Cay six days at sea in a row, I am sure DCL will pull out all the stops to entertain you during this time, as they did on the Panama cruise in 2005.

Then Teneriffe, Cadiz, Gibratar, before the new summer home of the Magic Barcelona where I will see her in July.

ENJOY and TAKE CARE of her across the Atlantic.
