Real quick trip report. Pics have not been edited yet, haven't even uploaded the 2nd camera. So those will come later.

We did not see the movie. We had the cheap seats, which meant we camped out on Main Street all day, just for a chance to see the stars walk the red carpet.

It was a blast. I'm still exhausted but we had a great time. We got autographs from Johnny, Orlando, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Pryce (Gov Swann), Kevin McNally (Mr Gibbs), Chow Yun FatCap Sao Feng), Martin Klebba (Marty), David Schofield (Mr Mercer) all from the movie. Then we also got Christy Ramano (Kim Possible), Jon Voight, Wilmer Valderrama (That 70's Show), Ian Zierling (Dancing w/the Stars), Kim Smith (Victoria Secret model), Ricardo Chavira (Desparate Housewives), Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty).....whew, that's all I can remember right now.

Got in line at 3:30am. There were already about 500 people ahead of us. Security opened at 5. We got in line for the farthest left turnstyle and were about 20 people back. When the gates opened at 6:30am, we grabbed our spot on Main Street directly in front of City Hall. We were about 30-40 feet from the beginning of the fans. Directly across from us were the main paparazzi set ups. Many of the photos you may have seen floating around were taken right in front of us. The stars did a long line of media, then came back to the beginning to greet the fans. There was a group of 7 of us. We were first and second rows behind the barriers.

It was a very long day and at one point I thought I was going to have to give up. I got so naseaus. Not sure why, maybe just the heat and the crowds. I took a break in City Hall and when Keith Richards was walking by, I headed back out. Fortunately we had a great group of people who were waiting with us all day long and they let me back in to the front.

Finally left the park about 8:45pm. Didn't get to sleep until 11:30pm. Then was woken up by fireworks at 11:45pm. I guess the movie had just ended. I'm sure it was great. I'll be seeing it on Thursday!!

Glad you had a good time - thought about you & almost phoned you!! You certainly scored w/autographs!

Wow,

You got me wondering about these again. I am sitting in my half way home hotel now - Emb Suites, Lompoc. We had a tremendous weekend. Had pretty much nothing but smiles and chuckles the whole time. One of the families thats' sailing with us (my BIL from Boston) announced that they were gonna have another baby! And thier due date happens to coincide with a visit/travel we've already purchased to be in thier area for Thanksgiving!

Sounds like you had a great weekend (except for the little mishap)! That is wonderful that you will have a new neice or nephew to enjoy Thanksgiving with:goodvibes

28 years ago, I was the same age as my oldest son is now. Wonder where he'll be 28 years from now.

28 years ago I was working at an ad agency in San Francisco. I burned out 10 years later. Though it was a great career for most of that time.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Are you going to frame the pen that Johny and Orlando used to sign the book??? :cloud9: I hope that your pictures turned out great. I would have been so nervous that the camera would have been shaking. OY!

Not only does he have the blender. He's got a custom case for it. He's a sound guy by trade so he has those neat black boxes, very sturdy on the outside, but fully cushioned inside so the blender is nice and safe!

So he can provide music for the deck party as well! COOL! :cool1: :lmao:

ok i'm off to make some alterations to my pirate outfit....

I'm just swimming in the skirt now and i have to take in my vest on both sides...

Should be a neat trick since i really can't sew worth a darn....

P.S. My DH has seen the light and is now not fighting me on the costumes for Thursday night.
