[*] For those young folk, a cassette walkman was a device, kind of like an MP3 player that held 30-120 minutes of music on a single tape cassette.
[*] For the older folk, a cassette walkman was like a portable phono player that instead of using vinyl records and needles, used a type of recording tape.

I saw a guy out of the bike path the other day with one and had to point and laugh....

I went through so many of those...

My dd is so spoiled to grow up in the mp3/ipod generation.

Do I ask him if its true that this place is really called Fredneck.

Hmmm...If he's born and bred... and uses phrases like "you're alls" then don't do it.... (the locals seems to be offended by influx like me who call them Frednecks)

It's really just an affectionate term though.....

Sometimes I think they don't realize the impact of a tossed off comment -- "this should be the last" and then it's not -- probably nothing but now you have to worry about it until Wednesday! So they did at least manage to find your brain -- was it in the upper fifth of your body, at least?

I wouldn't worry. She probably just wanted to get your better side.

She firstly said it would be about 10-12 mins, and I had 4 x 3 min sessions, its very loud in there, they gave me headphones and i listened to a local radio station.

Each record started the same time as each scan and so i thought it would be over by the record end.

On the forth run she said, this will be the last one.

That went through, and then she said one more and another one more so it was 25 mins in all.

Ashe said she shouldn't have said this will be the last one as she knows how that could sound, and then just said she needed to get some extra angles and that was normal and I shouldn't worry.


I was surprised I was so giddy when I tried to stand up and had to sit back down on the bed.

The specialist will look at these Wednesday, so I have to wait until then, Currently the Medication I am on is the chief suspect.

Funny, since last Thursday when I first went private the headaches have been far less say 5% of the previous ones. Hes such a good doctor I only have to chat to him and it goes!

A factor must also be Blood pressure and I have tried to get that down and that might have had a positive effect,as it has fallen.

I wouldn't worry. She probably just wanted to get your better side.

It's when they say "wow, I've never seen anything like that before" that you start to worry.

Its a while since a lady said that to me!

Good afternoon everyone! Nice and sunny here today, a bit on the cool side. Well I've recovered from my rowdy neighborhood weekend. Well be heading to VA on Friday morning, so I will be near Brack and Kristina. I checked the Motel 6 we are staying at and they have data ports! So I don't have to miss Friday night chat! No card so I can't drive and DIS at the sametime! LOL!

We are going Thursday and I asked our friend Josh if he wanted to dress up as a pirate or wear his POTC shirt. He chose the t-shirt! I'll wear my pink POTC shirt and dd may put on her Chinese Elizabeth outfit on. Josh is excited cause he gets to stay out late on a school night! (I know I'm bad!)

I use to work in a city named Westland. We use to call it Wasteland... affectionally though!

Kinda looking forward to getting out of town and not. I'm not too excited about my purpose for going, but on the bright side I can go to the Green Valley Book Fair!

I've luckily always had the good fortune of being in business class for the transpacific flights although I had to do the transatlantic in steerage this past spring. But I also had the misfortune of having a kidney stone problem develop shortly after takeoff from Tokyo a few summers ago. The longest 16 hours of my life.

Dh gets business class -- but, it is still a long flight!

So sorry about the stone!

Wow - I checked that - 105 day cruise. Only if - fully retired and lots of $$$.... I can dream.

Pretty cool...

This 2008 105 day Cunard voyage... it's asking from $20,000-$36,900 for the basic dining plan in the Britannia resturant. The mid line Princess Grill is priced at $52-57,000 and the top end Queens grill = 63,000-203,400 ... per-person. Under the right circumstances this would be an interesting voyage. However, I believe the bottom catagory cabin might be less then memorable... and if I were to drop this kind of money on a round the world voyage I might want something like the Queens Grill ... or at least the Princess Grill level. However... aside from getting gradually better cabins - the jump from a Britannia Veranda to a Princesss suite is $16,000 ... or $152 a day. Then to get up to the Queens Grill it's only a $6,000 or less than $59 a day to step up from the top Princess to bottom Queen suite. So - who would settle for just a Princess cabin???... given this sort of money is being tossed aside?

Then again... I might have other uses for $252,000 for four persons in a bottom catagory Queen's Grill suite. Not to mention what alternate uses I would have for the $813,600 that might be spent for 4 in 2 top tier Queen level suites. <chuckles> I imagine folks who do this are not really doing it for the voyage or the grub. Rather, I would not do it for the food or grub... Below is a shot from the Queens' Grill dining room:

Just this past weekend in SF I saw a gas station with fuel priced $4.25-$4.60 (+). I was astounded and even took a picture of the station. I have yet to upload the pix though.

A lot of the original planking and artifacts had already been removed as part of a restoration, so hopefully they can still restore most of it. They are saying the iron structure appears to be mostly intact.
