Hello I am back, had a great time in Majorca, Spain.

On the flight over there we started our decent over Barcelona and it was clear skys, and I could see the port, two cruise ships were in and I am sure one was the Disney Magic.

On arrival in Majorca it was a little overcast, and cooler, but after getting my hire car, we drove up to the private villa, in Pollensa.

I booked a peaceful location and we got that, the villa was up a single track road for about five miles and in fact the very last building before the cliff edge. The road by this time was nothing more than a dirt track.

We toured North West Majorca by car and also went on there local modern trains and then a 1912 train service through the mountains long tunnels etc to Stoller. Great fun and as the weather wasn’t good, a good use of time.

Pollensa also has famous steps some 365 up to a chapel, nice walk!

Later in the week we had quite a lot of beach days as it became very hot, and then went back to the villa to have a swim in our pool.

Food we had breakfast in the villa but for lunch and dinner we went to restaurants.

I presume the cost will be similar to Barcelona a meal would be from euros 9 to a set meal of euros 14 a full meal with soft drinks for a family of four was about 60-70 euros.

My tags gone all multi coloured

John, do you think you can give me some advice, I need to make patches for rugby jerseys from one of the cruise banners on page 1, I need it saved in jpeg. I'm computer retarded. ?:)

Sure. If you tell me which picture, I can download and save it to JPG for you. If you want to do it yourself, you'd need a program like Gimp or Photoshop.

Tell me which image and PM me with an e-mail address and I will take care of it for you.

I did that on purpose JR just to drive you crazy :rotfl2: Well, not the typos, they're real :rotfl2: My fingers just can't type as fast as my brain would like.

You really should come by chat if you really want to see some spelling and typos! :rotfl:

Hey how come you don't come to chat? Tom does!

Like I need any help going crazy. I'm already 75% there, but thanks for the extra push.

I used to be a really good typist myself, back when I worked in advertising. But computer programming is a different type of typing and I've lost that skill.

I am rarely, if ever, home on Friday nights. We usually do dinner out and last night there was soccer practice, and, well, I could make up other excuses, but the primary one is, I usually forget all about it by the time I get home. I am not as smart as you might think (and that is saying something).

I've been known to indulge in a Mike's or two before posting on occasion as well! :rotfl: But only on the weekend!

(Shoot now I'm worried about the spelling and grammar police (read: JR))

I wouldn't have pointed it out except I found it funny that in a post talking about improving vocabulary, the word was incorrect. I like finding funny mispellings.

Well...

I'm not done yet...

The total hours from the start of the thread til a 5PM embarkation are 13,562.35. We've had 3,321 elapse since last nite at 11:39PM which means 0.2448690676763245307782205886148 of the time has passed already. And conversely 0.7551309323236754692217794113852 remain ahead of us. That's a multiple of approximately 3.0838151159289370671484492622704 times for the time ahead of us as behind. SO we can multiply the number of postings each INDIVIDUAL has currently to ESTIMATE the number of postings each person MIGHT have when we embark.

Of course, this does not take into consideration The varariable intensity of enthusiasm each person has had (or will generate) - nor the time they've had since joining the thread and so on. It is merely an estimate based on the AVERAGE activity that has been input over the first QUARTER of the threads' life.

Below I've factored this multiplier (4.0838151159289370671484492622704x) on the individual tallies of the first few DIS folks (30) ....

lbgraves 4,862 = 19,855E

Verandah Man 3,366 = 13,746E
captaincrash 2,226 = 9,090E
O'BWV 2,199 = 8,980E
Andrew DEREK UK 2,192 = 8,951E
yargrnhoj 2,174 = 8,878E
PBader 2,001 = 8,171E
DisneyVegas1 1,718 = 7,016E
justmestace 1,696 = 6,926E
windermerejudy 1,692 = 6,910E
Enna 1,622 = 6,624E
pyramid2000 1,548 = 6,322E
got2travel 1,417 = 5,787E
BibbidyBobbidyBoo 1,310 = 5,350E
sk8ingmom 1,299 = 5,305E
allshookup 1,288 = 5,260E

bellelinus 702 = 2,867E
micmse2003 681 = 2,781E
The FairyGodmother 673 = 2,748E

Now... if we were to apply this multiplier to the number of PIRATE POST captures....

.... it would be UNACCEPTABLE! So I say... Swabbies (and Captain)....

TAKE WHAT YA CAN!!!!!

... and now I'm off the sign up my kids for swim team and Chinese School, then I'll be back to pick up one daughter for her birthday party (not hers), and my spouse will be taking the other daughter to her P-school art show...

And yes... I understand I may have a "DIS problem"....

... and I should seek counseling... problem is I might get counseling from Lil' Grumpy, our resident counselor!!!

Your calculation fails to take in effect that some of us did not start posting until much later in the thread's life.

Love ya Tom! And I LOVE your calculations and pictures!

Or sure, he does MATH and you like him. I even mention the word MATH and you yell at me. I think I shall say, in my best Smothers Brothers' imitation. "You always liked him best". :rotfl:

Love your calculations, Crash! I just argue with the assumption that the number of posts NECESSARILY is directly proportional to the level of enthusiasm . . . while no one would dare to argue the proven enthusiasm of the top posters, many of us in the lower tiers have tons of enthusiasm (but perhaps less time to post) . . .:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Welcome back, Andrew! I hope the trip was as relaxing as you had hoped it would be. I'm off to take the girls to see "Spamalot" (third time for me and my oldest, second for the middle one, and first time for the one who just turned 10 on Thursday -- she got tickets for her birthday). Will be quite a relief after takiong my oldest to take the SATII subject exam in Biology this morning . . .

Good luck with the exam takes.

Gotta run, Hazel is at a baby shower in North Jersey (Wall Township area) and I have to take Angelina to run some errands, then drop her off at work.

Be Back Later

Andrew ... I LOVE the pictures !!!

What a wonderful time you had. And the cost for dining sounds pretty reasonable.

May I ask how you settled on the villa - IE, what service or web site you used in finding and selecting it? Was the rental rate reasonable? I presume you would use the same firm or do the villa again should you return anytime soon?

...?

Your calculation fails to take in effect that some of us did not start posting until much later in the thread's life.

I DID say that I was not compensating for the variable times of some folks joining the thread. This was mainly an exercise of whimsy... and possibly a barometer for guessing what the future might hold IF the past quarter of the threads' life were any indication.

Seriously... if you like we can start a series of pools to put some money on the guesses! <chuckles>

Well...

I'm not done yet...

Of course, this does not take into consideration The varariable intensity of enthusiasm each person has had (or will generate) - nor the time they've had since joining the thread and so on. It is merely an estimate based on the AVERAGE activity that has been input over the first QUARTER of the threads' life.

OK... I gotta go now... TTFN!
