I believe that I heard mention that the grant wasn't approved so it was stagnant due to lack of funding. ;)

Seriously, though, folks, if we have hit a snag in getting a website up and running, let me know. If I had all the information, I could probably have a secure site up and running in a week or so. I do websites for non-profits.

Aw Shucks do I chase everyone away???? I'm starting to get a complex :lmao: Somebody post please so I can continue to catch up without having a skillion posts in a row. Thanks! :thumbsup2

How many is a 'skillion' and is it more or less than a 'Brazilian'?

I guess this seems like a pivotal point potentially - and represents one of the first big decisions we have with her ... aside from naming her ... and I had butterflys in my stomach on the whole idea.

SO... thanks again everyone on your input. Anyone else stepping forward with something to say ... rest assured I'll see it and hang in reflection on your conclusions and observations.

OK... I'm stepping out to run errands now. Be back late tonight maybe. TOmorrow after 2PM I'll be traveling out of town for a nite. So I'll be out of touch til friday. Unless I get a few minutes to log on from the hotel thursday.

Cheers and TTFN!

Tom, if we were to wait until we debated every single decision for our children until we were ABSOLUTELY SURE about what was THE right choice...the poor kids would never get out of the crib. ;) As long as you give them a loving and neurturing home and your choices are from the love in your heart...whatever decision you make will be good for them. Don't be so set that you are not willing to acknowledge that you may not have made the best choice and therefore change the direction along the way. At this age kids grow and develop so much that they are completely different from who they were just 3-6 months ago. From what you have shared of your interactions with the girls, there is no doubt that they know that they are safe, secure and loved. Kids are very resiliant as well. Repeating Kindergarten is not going to change their future from one of glory to shame. DD was actually excited about that possibility last year when it didn't look as if she would meet the required reading level. In January I started talking to her about how she had the chance to be older instead of the only 4 yo in the class and she had picked the teacher she wanted to have the next year. When she reached the goal in late April we celebrated but it was clear that repeating K would not have been a punishment for not doing a good job. As long as she does her best and tries hard....we are proud of her and love her. :)

Kinda slick the way JR found to get what he wants posted but not get in trouble for it....

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

There is a reason I am known as an evil genius. Watch and learn, grasshopper.

I know my wife is silently bracing for the day that is still to come, although with her, she still has a pair of grandmothers alive -- the women in her family live forever. The men die early. Her dad and I claim to understand why.

Well...your wife might get a stateroom assignment but if you continue like this I don't think that you are going to be sleeping anywhere but on one of those deck 4 deck chairs. :rotfl:

Now I really can't wait to meet your wife!!;) :woohoo: Is July okay with you????? Saturday, Sunday or whatever???:confused3

Yes, July should be fine. Any day would work. I don't know if my wife will come (or if she can). She's "Swim Mom" this summer and I think she will be spending every weekend at the pool with DS13 for his meets and water polo. (After all, someone has to look after the horses :rotfl: ).

I think I know which company you work for!!!:confused3

Duh!!!! I now realize for sure the company JR works for!!!

yes, look under 'bad financial news' and 'corporate blunders' on your favorite financial website and there is sure to be a story about my company every day.

Most people are honest and it is hard to "penalize" all for a few. Drive offs are one of the hardest shoplifting crimes to prosecute. Most stations do not have cameras at their pumps. Most of the time they strike when cashiers are busy and just leave the nozzle laying on the ground, this way the clerk is not alerted that there is a transaction that needs attention. Rarely is a license plate gotten or even a description of the car so many stations now how 20 dispensers or more it is really hard to keep track of what is going on out on the islands. 80% of our gasoline sales are paid for with credit cards at the dispenser. Even with prepay we still are victims of gasoline theft. Sometimes we get customers who work "in teams". Someone will come in and prepay for $20 on pump 6 (actually they are on 8) and their friend is on 6. Friend on 6 pumps gas and leaves and then they come back in and say their pump won't turn on. That is something we can't prove unless clerks remember faces or cars. :sad2:

It is against the law here in NC. I believe that you can lose your DL.

M? Oh, M!! Look what I found on another thread...

Can you say, "Hello, Please send Prince Eric over for a back massage??""

(I'd post the URL to the thread, but I haven't figured out how to insert it. Is it just a regular copy paste from the IE bar at the top? somehow that doesn't seem right. Someone clue me in and I'll edit this post.)

I imagine there would be a few requests for Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.....

Or can't you pick who plays the character....

Of course Keira Knightley in that little blue robe....:rolleyes1

Me too. I've never seen any of the Star Wars films either.

WHAT?!?!?!? I remember going to the drive in to see The Empire Strikes Back. The first show was sold out so the fathers decided to sit and watch the other movie for the first show...with 3 yo twins, 5 yo sister & 7 yo me. It was The Driver. Needless to say when my sister blabbed about all the nudity to the mothers...well, we were never taken to a drive in again without different supervision. :lmao:

Here was the first estimate of how long the thread would end up by embarkation time. Imagine that, eh?

OK... I'm turning in now... good nite folks!!!! And welcome to another beautiful thursday!

Judy has never claimed to be a math geek. :goodvibes

Why....? I was 17 when i left for college. (Oct birthday) It's really no big deal... The only year it really mattered was Junior/Senior year as every one was turning 21 and going to the bars. There was even one girl in my class who had a March b-day (meaning she was 5 months even younger than me.)

Because DD doesn't give me the impression that she is going to be my dependable, trustworthy, mature child. ;)

Is anyone else planning to be down here this summer?

You can cross us off the list for June...if I haven't already posted that. DH will be in JAX for a week. We have extended our Deceber trip to start on 12/1 though. :)

We will be at WDW then.from July 25 - August 5... maybe we can meet?
Since we are the entertainment for the grandkids this summer,we are avail Thurs,Fri and Sat to hop down and say hi! My Aug vacation starts on the 2nd and lasts til the 11th. Just let us know what your plans are.

Yep that's my Cheryl, keep after her, maybe she'll listen to someone else, lord knows after 39 years she certainly isn't listening to me.

Oh Cheryl, I know you'll read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John
I can see the foot slowly moving towards the mouth!

Thanx. He'd lick ya to death! Now ya'll know what I've been up to. He'll be getting his ears "bobbed" on the 11th.
Oh he is so cute! My DD pooch had the collar for a while and it was so funny to see him try to get it off!

Ah yes Mary, one of the more effective uses for the beloved Freak Flag! Though these days, my just breathing embarrasses the STs! So of course I do nothing better than playing with their heads. When I dropped Taryn off at her friend's house for the Senior Trip I hugged and kisses each one of the friends and told them each, no boys, drinking, stealing or drugs! Geez if the ground could've opened up Taryn would have jumped right in. I love these get-even moments :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Oh MR, I used to threaten to kiss them goodbye in front of school mates if they didn't behave. Side note here. My Mom was and still is one of those that think you have to run up and kiss her the minute she sees you. I went thru much embarrassment growing up that for a short while they taunted me by called me Kissy Kissy. Unfortunately the toy manufacturers even came out with a Kissy doll and they almost bought one for me. So I feel their pain but as a Mom loved to inflict it as well if the moment was ripe.

We just arrived home a little bit ago from the 1st Annual Eagles Nest Awards. Hazel and I didn't know this was the first such awards that school will now be doing on an annual basis. There were around 60 students that were given this award and each student was selected by a teacher or staff member of the high school. I haven't had time to load the pics that I had taken this evening, but Angelina made us so proud and we got MANY compliments from several of Angelina's teachers. When Angelina came forward to receive her award and certificate I'm the one who had butterflies in my stomach and also had the buttoms popping off my shirt. After I get the pics loaded, most likely tomorrow, I will post a couple and also include what Angelina's English teacher had to say about her. All in all, it was a wonderful evening and yes, some tears were also shed.
Congrats! Andy. When Nicole grad from 6th grade, he was presented with the Herman Beebee award. We never really figured out who Herman was , but hey she had the award!

You have no idea how proud we are!!! I just loaded this pic in real quick, I didn't have the time to edit the pic, this was taken after the ceremony this evening.

I was going to say that with the dress she was wearing, I'm sure the tat got a lot of attention.

Stace! have a great trip.

Todd, the kids look great and so do you.

Monica, what can I say but OUCH!Hope he feels better now.

Laura have a great trip. We expect a trip report. Speaking of trip reports, has anyone been reading the reports from the first repo? Sounds like the service was really spotty for some of the cruisers. Hope Disney reads the comments and tries to fix it.The one thing in common was the disappointment in the desserts. Now I understand the ref to cake on the blogs.Apparently alot of the seasoned CMs are leaving in Barcelona for some time and they are iffy about signing back on according to one of the posters. And the new CMs are going thru the growing pains in the new jobs. Let's hope everything gets ironed out for the return. The one thing noone posted was the gifts they received. I don't remember seeing what the stateroom gift for CC was and I read about a book but that was all. No mention of special pins?
Well the grandkids are annoying the **** to get to the computer so I'll sign off now for a while.

You know, if we keep making these type of comments about our spouses on here, we might just have to room together on the cruise. There are no couches in the lobby for me to sleep in.

Actually...yes there is!
