Tell him not to worry. Naugas shed their hydes without harm to themselves, making Naugahyde a Cruelty-Free fabric. In appreciation for the value that Naugas provide to them when they shed their hydes, a consortium of companies that produce products made from Naugahyde fabric established an extensive benefits program for Naugas in 1975. Funded with a contribution made for each hyde shed, the Nauga Defense Fund (or NDF) plays a central role in making sure that Naugas are protected and cared for throughout their lives.

Lorri, sorry you are having such a crappy day. When is your trip again. I need to buy some memory, and not for my computer.

So I go to Discount Tire Co. Although I like their prices, I really dislike how they always have to "go take a look" at the car/tires! WTH? I know what size I need/want, just get the danged tire! I always have the feeling that they (tire sales weenies) are trying to pull a fast one... Anyway, I was going to get a cheapie $86 tire (which then turns into $122 what with the envirocrap fees, taxes etc  ) and the weenie says that since I have a 4WD vehicle that I should get the same make/model tire that’s on the car now. Why? Because even though they may be the same size, tires from different manufacturers might be of differing heights and would thus damage the drive mechanism… I though “what a bunch of hooey” but then he pitched the offer: he’ll also sell me 3 additional certificates to cover the original tires that came with the car so that if any of them get damaged, they will fix or replace them! SWEET!

Well, the technical reason for this has some bearing in truth. AWD and 4WD systems distribute torque to each wheel independently. Using mismatched tires can cause the differential to have to work more often then it should to compensate for one wheel being smaller than the other (and thereby going around more often). Now, the difference would have to be fairly substantial to really 'damage' the differentials.

I mean, even if it the same make/model, the replacement won't be the same size because you've worn down the tread on the other one.

I give up. Thanks for the compliment.

Is totally missing the obvious when reading a symptom of the DISease? :rotfl2:

Or did we notice it and just not mention it to you in order to drive you (further) nuts???

Telltale heart and all.

Good Morning everyone! Tried to multi quote, but it wouldn't let me, so now it's gone with the wind or maybe the psycho bird! LOL!

Don't worry Tina, after all, tomorrow is another day.

Too bad I'm chained in the basement today. Probably better off that way. No extra calories. But it sure sounds good.

HEY Mark - let her out!!

Drat! JR beat me to it.

I don't know any knock knock jokes so I figured I would post this for fun... Something silly!

follow these steps [in order of course]

1. go to google then to the maps... I would give you the link but I can't! I'm still to new! I tried to put spaces in and it busted me for that also!

2. click on maps

3. click on get directions

4. Type in "new York to Paris, France"

5. scroll down in the directions to number 23

That's an awfully long swim. :lmao:

Yeah I know, but they only have 3100 miles so I don't think the tread wear will be significant. (I hope) :teeth:

Okay, I'm off to get the tire, have some Panda and mail the tax returns!!!! only 3 this year!!!

BTW someone asked, it tastes more like squirrel & gator than chicken!

Darnit. This double identity is starting to annoy me. I logged out of my Chat id name and into my regular name and for some reason when I closed the page and reopened it I am back to being FairyGodmama again. I don't want to post under this name. GEEZ!!!!
I will try this again.

I was beginning to wonder if you had a split-personality or if you went into the Federal Witness Protection Program! If it was the FWPP I was thinking they don't come up with very good names!:lmao:
