Good evening everybody!

Well, I think most of the storm is now passed, with the exception of the gusty winds. Lots of rain and spotty electricity since last night. Hope my fellow NE folks made out okay!

Congrats Andy on the pirate: !

Tom - seems like you've become the Susan Lucci of the DisBoards! So close, but no award. :rotfl:

Congrats Karen on your 600!!! If life can manage to stop interfering with the DIS I might make my 1000th soon!

Have a safe and snuggly night!

Karen - how is the weather thru PA. I am driving to Syracuse, NY tomorrow nite. I prefer driving at nite because I normally can't sleep. I told my family I was driving Wednesday. So I guess my father will be surprised when I ring the doorbell at 5AM!!!

Karen

Congrats M on the 2000th post and surviving your weekend!!!

Ours was the video of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail". DD watched that 30 minute video non-stop from PA to FL several years ago. :headache: Needless to say we made a trip to Wal-Mart prior to the drive home to purchase several new videos for DD to watch on the ride home. (Somehow Peter hopped away one day while we were visiting the MK. Go figure!!!) ;)

Great Minds Think Alike!!!

ha! pbger............i saw where your guys went deep sea fishing! :flower3:
..it doesn't seem fair, those cruising before cruising....:upsidedow

LG , Adam loves to fish any chance he gets! It is not so bad around here, there is a sportsman club we belong to. But I tell you those fishing trips on vacation can really hurt the pocketbook:scared1:

The Northeast corner of PA did okay. Not great, but not bad. Lots of localized flooding, but no s**w. It's still a little windy but not nearly as bad as I feared. Are you taking 81?

I do!!!No offense Andy but the first time we took my nephew Daniel to WDW he was two years old and all thru our trip the only thing he wanted to do was go on It's A Small World!!!. So guess who was the lucky one to go with him all the time? That's right Aunt Karen! He even sang the song on the plane going home and delighted everyone on the flight home!!

Now ask me about "The Bear Necessities" With my neice Jaclyn who was 2 at the time driving to Indiana to visit my mom who lived in Evansville which was a 16 hr car ride. The Cassette tape was played continuosly from Syracuse, NY to Cincinnatti, Ohio which was 13 hours. Just to let you know the (cassette was lost) on our drive back home!!!

Karen

Um....didn't you get the notice that you can only go on each ride once? ;) worked with my kids the first trip. :rolleyes1

Which is why we got headphones for the TV for the car. We no longer had to listen to the Wiggles all the way to FL. The TV had room for two sets. :thumbsup2

I don't know if anyone has seen on the news that Virginia Tech is under lockdown. They just confirmed that there was a gunman who went on a rampage and they just announce 25 dead. This is so terrible. They are interviewing alot of student via cell phone and thru email. Please pray for all of them.

Karen

This is just horrible! I haven't seen or heard any updates since I got home at 7 when DH told me it was up to 33 dead. It really makes you ask what is this world coming to?

It's a pretty ride. Usually Rt 81 is well maintained so you shouldn't have any problems at all. Safe travels!

I know it does make you wonder.

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

We really need some kind of warning system - first Janet Reno and now this!

We survived the storm without any problems here at home. Started yesterday off with snow and got about 3 inches before the change over to rain - by about 5 last night the snow was gone and the flooding was starting. Schools started on a 2 hour delay today but quickly closed - lots of flooding and road closures. We're on the side of a hill so the water tends to bypass us but sometimes our cellar (and it is a cellar!) gets some water but there isn't anything down there that can get ruined.

Prayers that everyone we haven't heard from yet is okay.
