I don't know if anyone has seen on the news that Virginia Tech is under lockdown. They just confirmed that there was a gunman who went on a rampage and they just announce 25 dead. This is so terrible. They are interviewing alot of student via cell phone and thru email. Please pray for all of them.

Hi guys. Hope everyone is safe and dry. I've been without power since 9PM last night. It was finally turned back on at noon. Most of the local roads are flooded. Needless to say, I'm not heading to the office today.

I'm watching the Va Tech news now. How tragic.

Glad you got your power back. I am worried we might lose ours since the heavy snow is building up on the tree branches.

Thanks Andrew for your prayers. Alot of kids in my neighborhood attend Virginia Tech and I am with one of my friends who has a freshman there. They have talked to her and they are getting ready to drive there.

I am at their house to take care of their younger daughter when she gets home from school.

Now they are saying there are 32 fatalities. Mass confusion going on down there.

My fraternity has a chapter there at VT.... Most of the brothers are in architecture but some could have engineering classes... Hoping all are ok.

I had to turn off the news, just too sad.

It is events like today that drive home that so many of our social policies are failures. Death Penalty? It is obvious this shooter either intended to kill himself or be shot by the cops. Dying wasn't a deterrent for him. Gun Control? Does anyone believe that someone with this on their minds would have a problem with acquiring the weapons illegally just as people do with drugs? Zero Tolerance? Like this person cared about a policy against bringing a weapon to school.

Just what will it take for our leaders to see they are fighting the wrong issues and losing?

Very good question ! Public out cry for something to be done? I am also wondering why they couldn't find this person after the first shooting? Where & what was he doing for 2 hours?

There's been another playground attack. This one in Baltimore...some

poured acid (drain cleaner) on playground equipment and a 2 year old little boy got 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns from it!!!! The article has a video of the scene as well as information about the prior attack in Texas.

No not yet, I changed it to Chicago to give me some motivation to do all the things that have yet to be done. We are moving the last week in June no matter what.

I am 30 min. from Rochester NY.

They are having a news conference going on now and I am getting upset by what I am hearing. I have been crying all afternoon watching and listening to the news.

I know they are getting slammed and I'm mad at myself for waiting so long. I don't know what I'm going to do if we don't get it in time. My initial thought was that I could go to the main office in SF. But just realized that I wouldn't be able to get one because my son's birth certificate and custody papers were sent in with the original application. Let's just think positive and hope they will get here. I have 17 weeks and 3 days from the day we applied until the day we leave.

Sure hope it doesn't take that long. DD got hers before the mad rush but what a pain to get. Ex had to fill out some papers and we got them notorized.

STOP!!!! TSA already has way too much power for what they do--adding to the security theater at airports And now someone is bound to get the idea that "something is going to happen, somewhere, at some time" so let's go to Code Chartreuse or some silly nonsense!

OTOH if the DC-area Fibbies happen to see a strange woman roaming around town pestering real estate agents about homes and schools whlie using terms like "safehouse" and "non-profit" being accompanied by an Alaskan husky with a Cub Scout scarf and yet she's yammering about going to Columbia for a triathalon jihad......well, I think they'll probably deploy the Black Tiger specops team to deal with her! Oh wait, she's affiliated with a Coastie? Better send in SEAL Team Six 'cause she'll be a pretty tough hombre!
