There's been another playground attack. This one in Baltimore...some

poured acid (drain cleaner) on playground equipment and a 2 year old little boy got 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns from it!!!! The article has a video of the scene as well as information about the prior attack in Texas.

What kind of sick SOB does that to young children? I hadn't heard about this happening before.

Hey MR - I just took my DS down to apply for his passport on Friday. How long did they tell you it's supposed to take? They told us 4-5 month. But I think most people are getting theirs in 3 months, even with it being real busy right now. We did it at the post office and I noticed they were pushing overnight shipping there and back. I think that 4-5 month quote was padded so they could generate some extra fees for the post office.

I just read in our local newspaper this morning that the passports are taking about 10 weeks to process right now. I guess it could vary in different parts of the country.

Oh No Monica I hope what they told you is wrong. They told me 10 weeks. I have 18 weeks until my Aug cruise and although I don't need the passports for that cruise they took our Birth Certificates to process the passports. Right now I couldn't get onto any cruise ship! Well I guess order another copy of our birth certificates if it comes to that. 4-5 months seems like forever.

Listen guys, for those of you who haven't gotten there passports for the TOAL yet.....I think you'd better go soon!

Just my 2 cents worth....My recent passport experience...we decided it was time for DD to get her passport. We put in application at the beginning of January and were told approximately 8 weeks. It just showed up this past Monday(about 13 weeks). You are able to check the status on-line but DDs never showed up until just today. I did call to inqiure and was told current processing time for new passports is upwards of 16 weeks, renewals 12 weeks and "expedited" passports 6 weeks. Apparently they are getting slammed right now. To be safe MR, I would strongly suggest another certified copy of your birth certificate. Murphy's Law will show that it was just a needless expense, but it's a whole lot better than gambling with the Dawn.

I just heard about the VT shootings, my heart goes out to those who lost their lives, to the injured, and to all families concerned. Yet, what another tragic thing to happen. My thoughts and prayers go out to all.

I am only doing on-line scrapbooking now. I did a TR of my cruise in December complete with graphics and pictures and it only took me a week to do. I hope to get time to do my pictures and story for our trip to ATL in the next week and get that posted to my web site as well. It is just so much easier than trying to put things in a scrapbook for me.

Let me know. Maybe easier to do on line scrapping but what would I do with cabonet full of stuff already??

I know they are getting slammed and I'm mad at myself for waiting so long. I don't know what I'm going to do if we don't get it in time. My initial thought was that I could go to the main office in SF. But just realized that I wouldn't be able to get one because my son's birth certificate and custody papers were sent in with the original application. Let's just think positive and hope they will get here. I have 17 weeks and 3 days from the day we applied until the day we leave.
