My fraternity has a chapter there at VT.... Most of the brothers are in architecture but some could have engineering classes... Hoping all are ok.

I don't know if anyone has seen on the news that Virginia Tech is under lockdown. They just confirmed that there was a gunman who went on a rampage and they just announce 25 dead. This is so terrible. They are interviewing alot of student via cell phone and thru email. Please pray for all of them.

Thanks Andrew for your prayers. Alot of kids in my neighborhood attend Virginia Tech and I am with one of my friends who has a freshman there. They have talked to her and they are getting ready to drive there.

I am at their house to take care of their younger daughter when she gets home from school.

My prayer to your friend and her family. As well as all who are affect by this horrible event. I will never understand why people feel it is ok to act out in this manner. It is no OK and never will be. We have to begin to teach ourselve and our childern how to problem solve and accept life on life's terms. No one has the right to take another life for any reason. And Yes I am against the death penalty. Lois

I am watching MSNBC and they have at least 22 dead and 28 injured. Of course with some critical the count will likely rise. I just heard that the building where he shot at classes is an engineering building.

Yes it was an engineering building. They even had the local schools on lockdown but they raised it.

President Bush is making a statement at 4:15PM.

I have been switching from CNN and MSNBC.

The numbers may rise.

I know during the mayhem these numbers will change.

There was someone who had their cellphone on hearing the gunshots.

They say the gunman was in his 20's no other info given out yet.

It is events like today that drive home that so many of our social policies are failures. Death Penalty? It is obvious this shooter either intended to kill himself or be shot by the cops. Dying wasn't a deterrent for him. Gun Control? Does anyone believe that someone with this on their minds would have a problem with acquiring the weapons illegally just as people do with drugs? Zero Tolerance? Like this person cared about a policy against bringing a weapon to school.

Just what will it take for our leaders to see they are fighting the wrong issues and losing?

I'm working on the Business Meter Books this week. I was in one building this morning that just re-opened about two weeks ago. The building suffered severe fire, smoke and water damage back in July 2006. Today, the office was under water, I managed to get to the meter, but all the "new" carpets are going to have to be removed and replaced again. The owner of the business was nearly in tears this morning.

Gotta get ready to get back to work, I'll have to ketchup after work.............

No offense Andy but what's with you water guys and the meter?!?!?! DW's parents' house burned down and the dang water dept was hack off that they couldn't get to the water meter! The house was 90+ years old and they wanted the original water meter back?

Now that's something I hadn't heard about! To compound matters some people might not get the answers they're looking for because the gunman is dead.
