Actually my in-laws - their 40th anniversary is in Oct. By some strange coincidence they decided that they would be in the exact same places as us on the exact same days...

Speaking of birds....I have a psycho bird that has been trying to get into my house for the past couple of days. Keeps flying into my living room windows. I have even tried drawing pictures of angry faces and taped them up to the window as a deterant, but nothing is working. I think mapquest gave the wrong directions again.....

Have you considered making the faces angry-er?

Thanks. I LOVED the tiki bar! La Mariana Sailing Club. It is the last remaining, original '50s-'60's era tiki bar. It was tucked back behind warehouses, but on the water at a sailboat marina. It was awesome!

EIther I'm slipping or yesterday was a really bad day because I didn't log on to the DIS once, but I was in chat at least.

Anyway, Diane for your DH - I hope everything works out the way it is supposed to. Extra prayers coming your way.

Shannon - don't go back and report the salon to the dept of health.

I won't be on much this weekend - I have a lot of work work that I brought home to work on so there goes my weekend. I'll be lucky to get the laundry done - the rest of the place will have to wait until next weekend.

To everyone in the northeast - keeping us all in my prayers that the storm isn't too bad and maybe is just more a rain event for us.

I'll chime in too...

Firs of all, glad DS is okay. Hopefully this won't make him permanently fearful of dogs. Call your local animal control and report the incident so you have an official record. Also call the licensing department for beauty salons and ask if animals are permitted on the premesis. We lived in ABQ and there were lots of dog-friendly businesses--shopping centers, dept stores, home centers etc.--Home Depot lost some business when they decided to institute a "no dogs allowed" policy. Lowe's put up a sign saying "Yes, Fido is welcome" Absolutely demand that the dog & salon owners provide vet & vaccination records for the dog. If they can't then strongly suggest that the dog be taken to a vet THAT DAY for medical checkup under pain of further civil/criminal action!

We have two miniature dachshunds and they are as lovable as can be. Oliver looks a lot like this guy a lovable dorky ball of fur : Well he and DS1 were sitting around and Ollie had had enough of DS messing with him. So he growled a bit. DS kept it up. Ollie moved. DS followed. Ollie gave one last shot accross the bow and growled again. DS didn't heed the warning. Ollie barked, turned his head and nipped DS! No blood or anything but it scared DS silly Actually, I think it was just that Ollie's mouth was open when he barked and a tooth caught DS' face. They didn't speak to each other for 3 days. But now they are back to being BFF!

I am the nanny to two miniature dachunds. Bert is 5 & Bailey is 4. I have taken care of them since they were brought into the house(I own a pet sitting business. Bert is always protective of me. He follows me all over the house where as Bailey does her own thing.Bert can be in the great room and when he hears the pantry door open and his dish being filled with food he is right there. We call him Hoover sometimes because of the way he can pick up and loose dog food nuggets if they fall from their food bin.
They have never snapped at anyone but they will bark when someone comes to the door but after awhile if the are left alone they will come up to you and be best friends.

Good afternoon all! The kids are helping a neighbor do yard work. They are having fun getting dirty while weeding the flower beds and spreading pine straw. DD just came home with a pine cone covered with PB & birdseed to hand in a tree. The couple doesn't have any kids and today they have a ton of help...lots of parents enjoying the calm right now I would imagine.

I started scrapping our holiday book yesterday and pulled out all of the extra pictures today. I am sorting them & putting the ones ready to use into the photo envies that I have collected so that I can group them for the different books. The dining room table is covered with all of this. Not sure how much longer DH wont say anything about that.

Been busy all morning getting errands done before the big rain storm heads this way.

All my fellow disers in the northeast is the noreaster still coming your way?

It was nice in the chat room last nite. i wish I could have stayed longer but I had two puppies that were vying for my attention.

I know some of you know my sister Doreen(Reenieny18). Well today her daughter Jaclyn turns "18". Wow! I can't believe it. It sure ages me.

I had bought her her birthday present(a Coach bag) that she asked for and told her she couldn't get it until today. Well she went searching all over their house looking for the box and could not find it. She even looked at my dad's house everywhere but could not find it(it actually was at my dad's house hidden in his closet. That was the only place she didn't look.

So I would like to wish my favorite neice(who also happens to be my only neice and godchild)

....guys, i thought maybe doing a "refresher post" so
everyone can see "me" better?

..we have no rooms assignments. however, we are supposed to
have 2 rooms. our plans on the 31st were as followed: we already
had a request....thru our dreams girl. then on the 31st, i was
trying for cat. 9, and never made it. so it came down to our dreams'
unlimited girl...who was able to scored! . so we have placed
a request on the aft, 7deck and 2 rooms together. however, our sons
are old enough to be themselves...it is not uncommon for us to seldom
see them unless we demand it. though they will be in their early 20's
@ the time of this cruise .."stunky teens" is a very accurate description
except keeping their junkie cars clean.

while iam doing all of the postings..alot of the times iam sharing with my
lil'miss cutie. nor am i, in possession of computer skills....though we have
one since early..90's, it has been our kids..."toy". we "dreamed" of dcl since
the 80's...but were weary of the big red boat thingy. however, my wife
have done all our cruises since 99. [ iam just now trying to figure what
the heck goings on]. of course, there's one more of us...our lil' .

ok, we have done both early and late...dining, based on our current needs,
we chose late. when we do a cruise, we try to get everyone input in.
our first cruise had no plans...but in alot ways , it had many special moments.
therefore, we don't planned every day on an exact schedule. last cruise,
i really enjoyed wandering & visiting others all over the ship...using my
camera as a front....some even showed us their rooms...which was fun. *i
had no idea who this capt. crash dude was...but it was very self evident, he
was very nice and helpful to others....and totally his wife/family.
you could tell..she tolerated his antics with lots of . this made
sense to me.


"people watching"....i had discoverd these boards a couple of years......
but it was hard to "see" who was what...so i was really paying attention
to those on the cruise boards...as we have had some weirdo experiences
on our cruises. based on that, is why i thought i give it a whirl here. i
believe the best of the best...is here.

& then there are a few..like me. [ if i was to chose an animal..porcupine
would described me to a "tee"] yes! i like sneaking in references of what
others talking about...for fun. i also "see" alot of animal types here.

then there are the truly teddy bears..types, like mr.V...i wish i was more
like him, but atlas...my needles get in the way. * my saving grace,
was to have been blessed with finding from a true . though
she does possess a few ...pointers ...my guess, for balance? i mentioned,
this, cos i leaned toward interacting ...with anyone...but i truly enjoy
meeting those seeking, sharing and respecting "individuality".

culture, and experiences ..are facets that i like listening to. what i also
see here, are strong family bonds and support. and i really happy to see
others taking active roles in their community structure...sometimes my
strong feelings will come out in a heavy presentation..sorry. this is the
way i live life..and my work is also ...in this very area. so daily, i running
into alot of the things that are popping up here...as to not mislead, iam
no expert, just expressing the input i see working.

..but being so cemented by aging, is also limiting to those sharing
similarties...however, i like hearing everyone feelings and their
expectations for this cruise. i like hearing families backround and what
each feels are important..cos we are doing the same things. more than
anything, it is making this cruise more special ,just realizing how many
fascinating people that will be on it. all i did before was let my wife
set things up, and went with her...well, i told you i was lazy.

* so what i 've been posting, is , a reflection of what you
can expect..hopefully not anything,, to shocking.
