You are 100% right in the way you feel. I would not take my kids back there but more important I would want to do something to prevent it from happening to someone else.

Now on the other side and please no flames, my suit is packed. I know size does not matter. A small dog could do the same thing, you just never know.

I have a maltese that I consider my third child. Dante goes most everywhere with me. I do know for a fact it is against health codes to bring a animal into a health facilty.

I always ask first if he can come with me. Just the other day my DD had her checkup for her braces. I had never brought Dante before but always talked about him and showed pictures. I was asked to bring Dante in.

I bring his small carrier with me and he sits on my lap. People take turns holding him and I was asked to bring him in for Brooke's next appointment.

I would never FORCE my dog on anyone and I can tell you now if Dante ever did anything to anyone Dante's trips would be no more.

I also know for a fact that once a dog bites, he is supposed to be contained for 10 days. I would call dog control and make a report. Just my opinion and hope it helps.

that is what i keep envisioning...the what could have been! i hate it...adn i think that is partially why i'm still up this late...i don't want to see any visions in my sleep!

OK, we use to go to a playdate when the kids were little. Some of the kids had gone since they were babies...including DS. We always went to each other's houses. One family had a small black dog...maybe a pameranian...but a little bigger than that. Anyhow, one week we didn't go. A few days after the playdate we ran into friends that did go and I couldn't hide the shock from my face when I saw the little boy. He had what looked like cuts all over half of his face including his eye with stiches over his brow. I thought that he had fallen riding his bike. Nope! He was petting the dog at the playdate and it decided to attack him for no reason that any of the moms could see. They were watching him the entire time...just in case. She said that it happened so fast they couldn't react to get him away.

It's simply not worth the risk IMO.

Goodness! I personally wouldn't go back. I would contact the person who does your hair and explain that you are very happy with her but you do not feel that your children are safe in the salon. Maybe she can arrange to go to your house to cut their hair? It might take a little while for your DS to feel totally comfortable around dogs again. I never really recovered from being attacked by a doberman when I was 8 or 9. I was riding my bike & he got out of his house, ran to me and bit thru my rubber insulated boots, jeans, and socks and pulled me down off of the bike. I don't like dogs jumping up on me no matter what the size and it makes me VERY nervous when my kids want to pet even the dogs we have known for a while...most are as big as DD. You shouldn't feel silly for any decision you make. It might be an extreme example...but would you take your kids into a snake pit knowing that they could be bitten? Of course not. It is a mother's natural instinct to feel if their child is safe or not. If anything makes me question their safety...I don't go there.

When I was a kid I was attacked by a German shepard and it was my Aunt & Uncles dog. He knew me !!! Out of the blue he attacked me for no reason. I remember my Aunt yelling cover your face and she was hitting the dog with a newspaper to get him off of me. I still have the scars on my shoulder till this day. I will always be afraid of a German Shepard, just can't help it.

Instead of driving to Chicago we will be working on the house non-stop and I will be putting it on the market next week. I am still painting and I think it will never end.

So nuts that you end up putting so much work into it, make it so nice, then don't get to live there....

M, those pictures are GORGEOUS!!!! So jealous! Maybe we will get to see it all in person one day. :goodvibes

Hi all. Just spent quite a few hours in the emergency room with DH. It appears he may have suffered a minor stroke. :sad1: They are keeping him over night for observation & plan on running some more tests on him tomorrow. His symptoms were minor & only lasted for a short time, so there is no permanent damage & they feel that this was more of a wake up call to change his lifestyle. The plan is that he will be released & sent home with a regimen of medication. We were suppose to leave first thing Saturday morning for Hilton Head, but now I'm not sure I want him taking that long drive. Guess I will wait to see what happens tomorrow. Doubt I'll sleep much tonight. :guilty:

One of dd's friends has poms....

Her mom is very careful to keep the dogs on a leash and doesn't let the kids just outright pet them when she has them with her at baton practice. (the girls practice outside during the summer)

Actually they're know for flipping out like that....

The girls mom has had poms her whole life and some are friendly while others are not.

I'm catching up a little and I just wanted to tell you Tina that I Love your siggie pic! You both have such happy faces and this pic of you guys make me smile everytime I see it!

Thanks. It was the only picture that just had a shoulders shot! I need to lose weight and I was inspired by your joining WW on line that I did too! It is way cheaper than going to meetings and I know what I should be doing! LOL! Don't we all!

Our HR department is rolling out a Wellness Program next week. One of the events is "Hustle Lessons". The big boss told my friend and I that we have to go! I said I can olny do the Cha Cha Slide! Well my friend is off that day to take her dh to medical appt. So can you see me doing this (probably) alone! I told the boss that I have a hard time telling my left and right and he laughed. I will have to get a better under garment though, if there is too much jumping involved!:mickeyjum

Also they are offering discounts at a couple of fitness centers and one is the Y for way cheaper than it is in my area and they practice reciprocation!

I think someone is trying to tell me something!

Well time to ketchup.

 Diane, hope all goes well.
