If he looks like this pirate: and has a blended cocktail in one hand and cake in the other, I think we've found our mascot!!

I'm hoping someone is home at that house tomorrow, this could be interesting, I just hope I don't start  if a pirate: answers the door.....................:rotfl2:

I have to admit that I too am a gas snob - I've never had an electric oven but I've used them elsewhere and I don't like them. I haven't used LG yet, but I love Kitchenaid (have not one but 2 of their mixers - one is the heavy duty kind!) and Kenmore.

When I was growing up we had an electric stove so that is what I learned to cook (if you can call it that) on. After we got married and moved into our apartment I had to use a gas stove for the first time. Not only did I burn every meal I attempted, I kept catching the pot holders and dish towels I was using on fire! It took me a long time to get the hang of it, but now I can't even imagine having an electric stove again. (I still catch things on fire every once in a while!)

Signing off for the night, see y'all in the mornin'

I don't know about Brack, I think he might have been hittin' the sauce again...........:lmao: .............I've been through Baltimore many a time, and I've never seen any views like what M posted of Alaska..............:upsidedow

I can dream can't I? :cloud9:

We had a really good dinner at Kobe's. The best part though was the fellowship.

Tomorrow we finish setting for the weekend camp. Today I installed a new video projector in the chapel. It looks good. The only left to do is a little bit of decoration. Then it's all set.

Oh no no no no no...if it isn't Sabrett it isn't a hot dog!;)

Look, DW is pi**y enough that I took her away from the beloved Jimmy Johns hot dogs and Cappriotti's subs. So *I* will take ANY East Coast frankfurter or hot dog joint I can find, capice?!

One place we looked at had one of those radiant glass-top ranges. That was the only kind of electric that she would have been okay with because you can sit a paper towel on an eye set to full power and the paper won't ignite.

Our cooktop is gas but we have a double wall oven: microwave/Advantium-like unit on top and electric oven on the bottom. DW will tell you that professional bakers prefer electric convection ovens because maintaining a constant temp everywhere is easier with electric.

what does everyone think a tag fairy should look like? and what do
you think "pissah" one off? refernce to magiroux..pissah day- isn't
that an italian? & here i been thinking you was frenchie? ......

Ahh, frenchie by marraige only...100% Italian by birth. My maiden name is very long and ends with an "o" ;) . And seeing that I am one of the few remaining on this thread without a tag, I think I may have pissah'd someone off :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Angelina really had no plans of going from the start, she was just going to go as a favor for her friend's friend. But as I stated before, she doesn't go out with anyone unless we get to meet him first. The funny thing is, Angelina had never even met the boy she was to go with, so she would be meeting him for the first time when we did. Since the boy doesn't go to our high school, he had to get a permission slip filled out with a photo ID and had to get the permission slip signed by the principal of the school he attends. Maybe he felt there was too many things that needed to be done, plus having to come and meet Angelina, Hazel and I.

Dealing with principals, check. Getting signed permission forms, check. Submitting photo ID, check. Meeting Andy and Hazel, fuggeddaboudit!!!!!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We're nervous. We haven't done this before. This isn't an investment property. It's our home - someone else is just going to live in it for a while.

Before it rented in record time I put some photos online, thought I would share the view from the kitchen window, 3 bedrooms and the front porch:
AKHOUSEVIEW.jpg

The river is about 1/2 between here and the base of the mountain, about 200 yards behind the house you see.

Oh Man, it must break your heart to leave this - I know it would me. That is just beautiful

Hi There Everyone!! Happy Thursday!

Can't wait for CHAT tomorrow!!

I spent part of tonight buying trip insurance for our TOAL. We always use Access America on our own because the price is Great!! The Family Basics package includes kids under 18 for FREE (That is is favorite word)!! Well is Taryn will turn 18 soon I wanted to buy it before then. It's not the sailing age that counts, but the age at purchase.

For those of you interested in Trip Insurance and haven't purchased it through DCL, check it out. We paid $116 each for pax 1 & 2 with pax 3 & 4 for free and that's for $12,000 worth of insurance (trip cancellation) and I included a estimated amount for airfare. It also has $100,000 medical transportation and $20,000 medical and dental coverage.

I know we don't like to think of these things (especially cancellation) :scared1: But I really buy trip insurance for the medical transportation. If anything happens to me or mine I want to be airlifted by helicopter to the U.S. if humanly possible!

Go to Piratesonline.com & you will see all the info on it. It has not "launched" yet so I'm assuming they are waiting for the release of the movie. I think we got the link thru Disney Insider, but I'm not sure. Anyway, DS can't wait to start playing!

Mendon is over an hour from here, so we've never been. There are no Drive-In movie theaters anywhere near us. Maybe we'll have to take the trek one of these days.

Thanks - will have her check it out.

We are 45 mins door-to-door to the drive in. It does make for a late night, especially in early summer when the movies start later. It is a great drive-in and we go out of our way to support it. The employees are very close knit and the same people come back to work there year after year. Very nice people. Oh, and awesome snack bar :thumbsup2 .

This is one of the many reasons why you have to listen to me grump about DC!

And you get cool sunsets

As far as pets go, we have one

She's a dalmatian princess

We have had her 10 years, she was about a year old when we got her, but the prior owner had done no shots, she had bad skin rashes, etc.

Her name (not named by us) is Miranda

For the TOAL, she gets to go to "Camp Grammy", my in-laws, where she will play with Grammy's obese lab, run around in the woods, get lots of table scraps and leftovers, but will still be thrilled to see us when we get home.

I

I know what you mean, MR. Nobody wants to plan for these things but you have to.

We never by trip insurance, but always purchase Medical Evacuation Coverage from a company called MedJet. I haven't looked into it yet for this trip becuase you don't need to purchase until right before, but I like it because they have no say on if you are to be evacuated or not. It is the decision of the attending Dr and your personal physician at home if you to be evauated and where you are to be evacuated to. There is no red tape or bean counters getting in the way. They have their own fleet of medical aircraft fully staffed. Hopefully we wil never need this, but after reading horror stories of people going SERIOUSLY into debt in these situations, it is comforting that is one less thing to worry about heaven forbid we face a crisis.

Hi MR!! Your post is so timely for me because I need to get trip insurance for our Alaska cruise. I'm going to definitely check out Access America.

And by the way, don't even use that cancel word missy!! We have big plans for you and that blender of yours. But mostly it just wouldn't be the same without you!!!

:woohoo:
Thanks for :dance3: with me about the house rental!

The pictures are beautiful!!!! I think I am more of a city girl with lots of shopping close by!!! I thought Alaska was beautiful but I did not want to live there.:rolleyes1 I also hate living in Illinois. The only place I will be happy is in Florida.:woohoo:

Hi Shannon, :wave2:
From one OCD planner to another, you have plenty of time to ticket your flights.;) Airlines only release flights 330 days prior to departure for sale. How about we remind each other in about 130 days to start thinking about it. Couple of extra days thrown in for cushion as life always interferes with plans.

Remind me too. :rolleyes1 I first have to get through this vacation. I worry about TOAL that I forget I am going to WDW in September.

The Royal visit was on the evening news here. I'm not a Royalist per se but I enjoy the history and pomp that is around them.

As a fan of occasions when I was 15 I went to London and was able to be outside Buckingham Palace for the wedding of Charles and Diana in 1981.

Also, a few years ago I took the family to London and we were in Trafalgar Square for the celebrations for the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

When I find the photos one day, I'll post one or two.

David

David I would love to see the pictures!!! Did you bribe Helen to post.;) :goodvibes

Trust me Sis..........You dont want to have Medical Issues outside the US.........Not in some of the places I have just visited.........We had to take one of our Engineers into emergency..........Yikes !!!!

Oh boy!!!!! DW just called....no, they haven't found her bag. Not only have they not found it, but it apparently hasn't been seen/scanned since leaving the DIA ticket counter. So the lady, Linda--head of baggage services, put a worldwide tracer out for the bag. Huh? What is that you ask?

Well evidently they were only searching within the airline's own baggage system for the suitcase. :sad2: As DW said, it was a NONSTOP flight DEN-PHL...where/when would the bag have time to get lost? Well the worldwide tracer is a BOLO notification sent to all airlines--worldwide--that if they find this bag, please, pretty please, send it back to us so we can send it to the pax. So yes, DW's bag could very well be on its way to Andrew UK's house via Qantas, Aeroflot, El Al and friggin' British Rail after connections in Paris, Berlin and Moscow! :furious:

Think I would be hysterical. I hope she gets it back.

It is getting cold here and damp. I have a fire going in the fireplace. Yesterday I had the A/C on. Go figure!!!

Karen

I live the same life here. Cold one day and colder the next day. Weathermen are predicting warm weather so I planted flowers and seeds. I hope no frost!!!

We went to Uno's for dinner. Our high school's National Honor Society was having a fundraiser with 20% of sales between 4pm-10pm being donated to their Operation Blessing fund. Tonight was the first time I tried Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, and I must say, I really did enjoy it..........:thumbsup2 I know we will be going back to Uno's again!!! :)

If you think Uno's is good, you need to taste Gino's Deep dish. It is to die for!!!! :thumbsup2

What kind(s) do you have?
None because I want to be able to go on trips without having to worry about making arrangements.

I have no pets either. :goodvibes I just felt tied down with extra responsiblity.:rolleyes1 I had children.:thumbsup2 That was all I could handle.:lmao: Now we can pick up and go whenever we feel like it. :cool1:

I am French but married the Italian. My tag is also only in black!! It sure would look pretty if we had colors under our names.:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
