Playing pirate here!!!

At least no one is talking about 8-tracks.....:lmao:

Um does it count that I at least know what they are?:rotfl2:

Just got off of phone with DH. He is a little bummed. The TOAL is still a long time away. Am I the only one who hasn't made a payment yet but the deposit?:confused3

I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Figured as the devoted parent and spouse, you were probably the first up and suffer from the same lack of caffiene disorder a bunch of us do!

My DS#1 (9 years old) is doing his "States" project on Alaska!

My first thought for a response was - how does your 7 am work out go every morning? (OK almost every morning...) I was joking, but like I said I can take it as well as I can dish it out. Someone else may not have taken it the way I do.

Cool on DSs project! Let me know if he needs any info or if you have time before it is due, I can send stuff. He can even check in with my DS8 who is an expert closer to his age. Nifty kid fact: We have an outdoor ice rink on the playground so the kids can skate during recess in the winter.

You might want to leave out the .88 moose fact :scared:

Use to take in cup cakes, but all the kids do is eat the frosting and waste the :cake:

Wise decision, according to the NAACP (the lesser known National Association for the Advancement of Cake Products)

A :cake: is a terrible thing to waste.

Hello All :wave2:
* Update Warning and it's a downer. *
First- Thank you for the birthday wishes. Not much of a celebration here but there is worse things in life. My DD Brooke is devastated. She dropped Dante last night and he got hurt bad. After talking with the vet last night, he told me to bring him in first thing this morning. Dante will be spending the night in the hospital as he needs a implant in his knee. Can you relate Andy?

Between the hernia operation and this one which is more major, I see us just spending our TOAL money on other things.:sad1: Dante is not only a member of this family but my child and Brooke is the big sister. I have never been so attached to one animal before in my life. It hurts us so much to see him in pain and not able to walk.

Brooke has a teeth cleaning today and we have a home inspection this afternoon. I am feeling a little overwelmed and can't wait till this is all over with.

needed to vent, thanks for listening.

Oh No! Puppy hugs!

We're sorry to hear of the accident. May I offer supportive sympathy and a little encouragement? I understand what it's like when a lot of things seem aligned "inconveniently" (having been "there" before - as I'm sure others have been too) ...

Alas .... Sometimes things have a way of "working out"... and after the Vet visit and more time to resolve the situation fully - we may find things are more manageable then we may suspect. Time and a resiliant attitude may speed the healing process - or at least cover all alternatives throughly?

Sending Pixie dust your way!

Nope. I'm still paying the deposit (gotta love the Disney Visa 0% on cruise charges for 6 months).

On the 'records' topic. If you still own vinyl, you are not old, you are 'in' again!

My DB & DSIL own a small terminally hip indie music store in Cleveland. They sell CDs and a lot of vinyl. New releases on vinyl even. They have a turntable in the store & a gizmo to download record albums onto their computer, so they can have MP3s with all the pops and sizzles from days of yore.

Their black cat who lives in the store is named...you guessed it...Vinyl.

From the FAQ on their web site:
Does the cat stay in the store all the time, or does she go home with you?
The cat only lives in the store. When we close, she walks into the vinyl and disappears like the players in Field of Dreams.
:lmao: :lmao: I love my brother.

And just to prove that smart add runs in families...

Do you guys take credit cards?
Yes! Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Not sure how we'd get by without people making questionable purchases with their credit cards. Yes, we are part of the problem, not the solution.

They also have an Un-FAQ page on their site for odd questions people ask in the store:

Are you open right now (while standing in store)?
If you are standing in the store, we are open.

What is this place called?
Look, we spent a lot of money on that giant neon sign, please read it.

I figured as much. I rarely get offended by what people say/do/post, usually cause I'm just clueless.

7am work? That's usually kicking the 2 DS in the add to get them in gear!!!

.88 moose would be one of those where DS will roll eyes, walk away calling "Mooooommmmmm".....

They are doing most of it in school, DS's teacher has philosophy that she wants to see what the 9 y.o. kids can do not the 25-50 year old parents.:rotfl:

I remember it all to well. That is dragging out the oldies.

And to bring things full circle, I used to have that on a vinyl 45 !!!

Probably still do if I check my Dad's room of odd stuff left behind by the kids that he just can't part with :lmao:

M cake products sounds so impersonal.

Give in, fights not worth it.

Imagine if they sailed out of Philly with one of the new ships..... I'd go broke...

Yea, me too!!! Not to mention the dock in Philly is just across the river from the end of my street, I'd be spending a lot more time "Down By The Riverside"....................:lmao:

I once threatened dd that I would go to a local cake supply store and get a big tub of butter cream frosting and buy a pack of plastic spoons to take to school! LOL!

I like :cake: and dd likes popcorn::
