Captain, I read the junior POTC AWE book I picked up at a Scholastic book fair last week. Not sure I like the plot and it seemed that it was another open ending. Maybe POTC 4?

No Maybe about it..4 and 5 will come ..somewhere about 2009 or 2010 ....and the book is a little off the actual script for AWE ..I dont want to be specific about the ending , but it should include Barbossa and the FOY ....if its in that book then you should know what I am talking about ..otherwise I cant say no more ...LOL

Thanks, I'll check them out. Planned community scares me... but then again, a lot of things in that area scare me.

We're still leaning more towards VA than MD simply because most of my job opportunities that aren't right in town seem to be in the Alexandria area.

A little word from my experience of over 12 years in the "DC Area" .......

The commute is much, much harder from the Virginia side. It is PARTICULARLY hard coming in on I-95!

Shoot me if I ever had to make that commute. :scared1:

Coming into Northern Virginia from Maryland would be an "easier" :lmao: drive because it is "against" the normal flow.

Just MHO!

Oh my . . I'm all caught up with TODAY"s posting even if our captain's compass doesn't seem to work . . .

Just remembered our DS10's baseball game STARTS at 8 PM (if we're really blessed and it actually starts on time) so I will be a bit late for the chat :sad1:

LOL
I saw Norfolk first . . .and throught it wasn't that warm here, but then I saw UK (vs. Virginia) and realized another Norfolk was having warm and sunny. . .we're just having warmer and sunny . . . SUMMER IS COMING!

We've been having lovely weather here for nearly two weeks - I've even has sun-burn  Any longer and there'll be talk of drought and hose-pipe bans.

I agree I don't want to spoil it for anyone either. I picked up dd from Spring Break camp at the YMCA and they had the book fair. I do know hwat you are talking about. Not much dialouge in the book. I am stumped on FOY. I'll have to think about that.

Well catch you later at chat.

So DW finds toe socks to be one of the more disturbing things ever created....
smile-socks.jpg

Well.....for the outdoorsy folks who like barefooting, there's the new Vibram FiveFingers:
By the company that you know for making hard-core soles for your hiking boots, the FiveFinger shoes are like gloves for your feet, with individual toe slots. Before you say, "Ewww, I don't think so," think about this: The folks at Mountain Chalet downtown are considering trying them for climbing. (Think about the traction thing.)
Good for everything except the dance floor

I've got another 29 minutes. And now that I've located the cat, we won't have to go searching for her at 5 when I ready to set the alarm!

I will try to ketchup later. Going out with my daughter for the day and have to do 3 movies tonight!!! More money for me TOAL!!!:cool1:

I just wanted to tell everyone what happened with the highschool bomb threat yesterday. We made all the news stations. The lockers were checked yesterday. Three children were under arrest. Two were released and on child is still arrested. The one child had blueprints, wires, and various other things for bomb making but no expolsives were found in the locker.:sad2: It is under investigation. The only thing released the boy was 16 years old. I was too worried about the Beatles in my life and if I had enough money to go to the movies.:lmao: It is sure a different life now.!!!:scared: :scared:

I will be on chat tonight late!!!! Will talk later!!! Have a nice day.

I was thinking of you this morning. We got a call at 6:20 am from the school superintendent. There were threats made at the High School & considering that today was the anniversary of Columbine, they though it necessary to have the State Police at the HS today. My kids are still in elementary school, but it was scary none the less

That's just the men talking . . . LOL . . . (and the women who wish they were men) . . . war would take on a whole new emotional meaning if women were in charge (and aren't we in charge already . . .shh . .don't tell the men) .. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You betcha! To begin with...those military uniforms would be WAY more fashionable. ;)

Thank you! We call that a hose or a gardening hose here in the states. Guess you are considering watering restrictions . .. now I understand . ..:rotfl:

I'm not considering them but the water "providers" usually do whenever there's more than 3-4 weeks of decent weather.

Just an update on DD situation with her hip.

Elizabeth had her appointment today. It was really like going into outpatient surgery. I had to stop them from putting and IV in. She didn't need it but they start doing all the usually procedure stuff to every patient because they assume if they are there they are having surgery. When we first got there the doctor came in and asked if she was in pain. She was but not much since it was so early in the morning so he told her she needed to elevate the pain so it would be absolutely sure that the injection would work. So she was trying to make herself hurt by walking the halls and climbing stairs. That didn't work so we had to actually lay her down and Mark and I took turns pushing her leg into postions that would place stress on the hip and then she laid on the floor in the preop room on her sore hip side. She joked that they usually try to make you feel better in the hospital not worse. The staff would come in and ask her if she thought the floor was more comfy than the nice cushy bed. But they never thought it strange that she was on the floor. They must see it all.

She had a pain med injection into her hip joint. The results of the injection were that she had no pain at all after the injection. So they know for sure that the problem is her hip joint and not the surrounding muscles (they were ruling out a tear) So it is what they thought, a hip impingement, and will require surgery. (for those who don't know, this is the last in about 4 months of testing, so they are not baseing the results just on this one test) So she has to see him in 2 weeks (or of course, when ever they can get her in) and the he will map out the plan as far as how he wants to do the surgery. It may be orthoscopic or he might have to open her up. He will probably do the orthoscopic first and if he can't do what he wants (which is to reshape the bones) then he will have to open her up. Either way she will be on crutches for at least 4-8 weeks. He said he is booked with surgeries until September but he is planning on taking some time off from his office practice in July and/or August to spend a entire week doing only surgeries so he might be able to get her in then. We are praying for July that way she would have more recovery time before heading back to school in the fall.

It will be one year this month since she first had her knee injury and has been able to do anything physical at all.

Sending good thoughts your way

:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1: Thanks for sharing, Andy. . . I'm trying not to be sad today. One of my friends sent me an email this morning saying that her daughter (DD10) said that for today, her heart was not red, but maroon . . . I just cried. Today, everyone is a Hokie . . .
