Jared's chorus is going to sing that song for their spring concert. He came home the other day and asked me if I knew it....HA....surprised him when I could sing it!

One of mine too...I've been known to start quoting from it when the mood strikes.

Very well put! The only thing worse than kids acting this way is adults who never grow up and continue to try to bully others when they don't get their way. They never learned that the difference between right & wrong applies to them as well. Of course they always deny that they have ever done anything wrong when confronted with the facts.

OMG! That is my older half sister to a tee. Bulling isn't attractive at any age. Where did all these mean girls come from? DD has a couple at school.

They think by Saturday we will go all day without dropping below freezing. Breakup is here. The snow berm in front of my house is down to about 3 1/2 feet.

BTW, did you meet up with DH in time to make the flight home together? I don't remember reading an update on that.

Yup, we met up. There are many things I will miss about life in Alaska - the 5 1/2 hour flight from MN is not one of them! At least I had someone to cuddle up with. Someone asked me so I counted it up - I was in RI for exactly three hours longer than it took me to travel there (36 hours to 33 hours). I forgot about your dictation job, so typing practice makes a bit more sense!

OK I got up at 0500 to work...so I guess I should get back to it.

DH is still doing Atkins and boy do I miss my comfort dinners..meatloaf, shepard's pie, ribs & cornbread and such

Good Morning America (or one of those things in the morning) did a feature on Atkins and other popular diets a few years ago. One of the nutritionists pointed out that all Atkins really does is teach portion control. They showed an oversized burger with fries, etc. etc. from some chain and pointed out that if you were on Atkins, you subbed something for the fries which was a smaller portion then took the oversized roll and threw it away cutting the burger portion in 1/2.

Just an interesting take....

I'm on my soapbox here...I hate it when people think they are exempt from doing the right thing just because mom, dad, uncle, aunt, sister, brother, mother's cousin's boyfriends sisters husbands daughter, works in law enforcement! We have told DS that just because dad is a police officer it does not give him the right to behave any way he wishes and that if he breaks the law he will face the consequences of doing so.

You should be in NJ, here... nevermind, I still need to drive in this State.

My Dad is retired LE and I never pulled the "Do you know who..." routine. My Dad instilled in me the exact attitude/belief you state above. I was in double trouble if the cops ever brought me home or called.... However, that being said, sometimes LE brings it on themselves. As a youngster, I was let go a number of times because the officer knew my Dad....


I know others who have gotten out of DUI because the officer knew the brother/sister/parent was in LE.....

good point! The thing that got me is that it seems to start earlier in the girls (or maybe it is just my experience). Some of the girls were already there as early as Kindergarten.....the boys, we are just now having trouble with. In most cases DD got along just fine with them up to this point - it seemed to happen later and more gradually. Many of my DD's boy friends are having problems at this age - strange.

ANyway.......
