Thanks Tom. Looks like we have a lot of choices.:goodvibes
Great job on the summaries:thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. I am still trying to recover from this crap that I caught. Finaly went to the Doctor to get pills. I'm on an antibiotic for ten days won't be done with it for another 7 days. Hope it works. We'll got to run. Happy Birthday to everyone, welcome to anyone new and recovery to all who are coping with illness, their own or that of a loved one. That should just about cover it all. Lois

Hope you get to feeling 100% soon:goodvibes

The following was copied and pasted from my trip journal.

Howdy All,

It’s 4:30am on Saturday morning March 31st and we are in Ashland, Virginia. I’m writing this quick report into my journal and will post it later, since I can’t seem to get connected to the internet at our motel. If you are ever driving on I-95, and stop at exit 92, unless you have no other choice, avoid the Apple Garden Inn. OK, here’s are trip so far.

We left home at 6:10pm last evening and headed south. I had Hazel call MR to see if her family had left. MR stated that they got on the road about 3:30pm, and were already in Maryland, traveling on I-95. I decided since it was later in the day, I would take I-95 as well. We were making good progress until we crossed over from Washington, DC into Virginia. We were about 90 north of Richmond, VA when we hit bumper to bumper traffic. It took us about 90 minutes to travel the next 17 miles, by this time I was kicking myself for not going down 13 like I usually do. The reason for the back up, there was a bad accident about 74 miles north of Richmond that involved at least 5 or 6 cars. We tried calling MR to make sure they were OK, and when we didn’t get an answer on her cell, I was getting a little concerned.

MR called us a little before 11pm to let us know they were near mile marker 45 in Virginia and were looking for a place to stop for the night. At this time, we were only at mile marker 123 and I decided there was no way I was going to make it to meet up with them, so we pulled off I-95 at exit 92 around 11:30pm and I was in bed and asleep by midnight.

So, here I am wide awake, while my two sleeping beauties are snoring away in the bed, next to me. LOL!!!

I’m hoping to make it in to Florida later tonight, but if not, we WILL be there sometime early Sunday.

That’s all for now :goodvibes

Update: Saturday Evening March 31st

Left Ashland, VA at 6:15am after a quick bite of breakfast at McDonald’s then drove through the day arriving in De Land, FL at 7:00pm.

We had a very nice ride today, only hit a few traffic snarls along the way. We stopped and filled our car up at exit 180 in NC at Pilot, gas was 2.58 per gallon. Stopped for lunch in Santee, SC (exit 98), then filled the car up at exit 53 in SC at Citgo for 2.45 a gallon. Gas here in De Land is 2.69 a gallon.

My mom was getting off work just as we were arriving in De Land this evening, so we met her at IHOP for dinner. My mom told us that we are having a Bar-B-Q tomorrow afternoon at my uncle’s place(he lives next door to my mom).

After my mom gets off the phone, I’m going to connect my laptop and post this report., then I will be turning in as I only had 4 hours of sleep last night. It’s is so nice and warm here this evening, shorts and t-s***** are on already, LOL!!! :goodvibes

Lord only knows how far behind I am on this thread……………LOL!!! J

Thanks Diane for all your help!!! :goodvibes

ANDY & HAZEL!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Thanks for letting us know you made it all safe and sound! ENJOY!!

Did you see the size of the balconies on those two penthouse suites on the Millenium???? I WANT ONE!! How awesome would it be to go through the Canal in one of those beauties?

Wow looks like more than 3 would fit!

Here is a cool one from Google Earth Community

I figured out how I could make that Millenium Penthouse work! We could promise to have all parties held there, use the Butler and Concierge for the parties, and charge a "cover charge" to help pay for the room!

I didn't think so, but it was worth a shot..........

Thanks for the update Andy! Glad that you all made it safe and sound. Enjoy your vacation, get some sleep tonight and I'll see you Friday.:goodvibes

That would have to be a heck of a cover charge! I don't think $5 would cut it

I had checked out some of those a while back. Just not sure yet what we'd like to do. After seeing the pictures of the town, maybe it would be nice to just wander. But after so many days at sea, I just know I'm going to want to get in the water!
So many choices, so little time!!

Hi all! We did a fluff day and went to BABW. Got monkey Jack and a pirate outfit. pirate: There stuff is too cute. Hope everyone had a good day.

1) What was the last thing you read which was longer then 2 paragraphs? I'm currently reading Peter and the Starcatchers

2) Do you have any favorite catagories of reading Travel, Crime Mysteries, children's lit and almost anything

3) What did you bring to read on your last trip? C'mon - fess up - name it all if ya dare! The same book as in #1.

4) Any word games you like to engage in? What are they? Crossword puzzles and Balderdash.

5) DO YOU REMEMER what sort of GRADES you got in your english or literary classes? What were the classes and your grades??? What-ever you can recall
I always liked English A & B's

6) Who reads more - you or your spouse? No spouse, so it's me!

7) What is the next book (or anything) you plan on reading next... be it tomorrow or tonight? ..... or when-ever.... I got Peter Pan by JM Barrie from the library. I want to know the real story!

Extra points scored for humor - however - all responses should have a thread of candor as opposed to being pure fiction.
