I know when we left PC last August, it was neat watching the CG boat escort us out, they waved to the kids and the kids thought that was "soooo coool!"

Must be flashback central here tonight. My father has been in the CG Aux since before I was born and has been the Public Education Officer for as long as I can remember. In elementary school, everyone used to think it was "soooo coool!" that I got to spend my Christmas vacations at a lighthouse or that the a CG cutter would tie up alongside our 'red neck yacht club' to help celebrate my birthday or a dozen other experience I had. Never occured to me that it was "soooo coool!" - I just thought it was normal.

I know I am doing too much these last few days.........my right ankles is mega swollen. This is why I can write now, I need to rest my ankle

Hey girl - you better take it easy. No good going on vacation if injured and can't enjoy the parks (oh, wait...you'll have the blender and booze...carry on!)

Spring here is yucky. 6 weeks of slush and mud. We call it "breakup". Everyone has a pair of breakup boots. Then we have "green day" when everything turns green and lush and beautiful in less than a week.

Up here we all it "mud season". Not pretty, but could be worse. That's reserved for "black fly season". Ugh.

"Green day" = I like that group.

Wow... just had a flashback to my first day of Kindergarten. All I can remember is standing in the driveway so my mom could take my picture with my Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox.

I've got a few year on ya. Mine was Holly Hobbie.
My first lunchbox was even metal - the rest were plastic.

You are killing me. My DD(33) had the Strawberry Shortcake lunch box for kindergarten too. My DS (37)had a Mickey Mouse Lunch box for his first day of Kindergarten. What a surprise.

I did get a call from the Dr. office today about the scheduling of the next test for DD. What is it about those guys that makes you want to just scream? Sorry to any medical professionals here. I'm sure you guys are so much more helpful. They called to tell me that they can get DD in for the next test on May 29th!!! Two whole months from now.

The lady says, " I am sure you aren't going to be happy with this" Darn right, I am not happy, I am furious!!!!
She said she would talk to the doctor and see if she can get me a better date. I was think, why didn't you do that before you even called me.

Then I asked "so if this is the date we stay with and it ends up she needs surgery when do you think it would happen, Early summer?" "oh no, she says probably the end of the summer at the earliest" Am I suppose to be okay with that?
DD has lost a year of her sports life as it is now. How do we tell her "guess what honey? looks like another year with out basketball and track and dance?"
Very frustrated here in Michigan. At least the sun is shining and it is warm.

Oh Laura this is truly frustrating. I'm sorry the wait is so long for you guys, especially given the fact that your DD is in pain.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I did google and saw some leg braces that are out there, I thought I'd print out pics and show the Vet to get input on if they may help support the leg. My wife got a visit in with Morgan today and talked to the Vet. The Vet told her that there would be infections, and antibiotics would help, but upset my wife when he said there was still a 20% chance that an infection would cause him to amputate the leg.

Joel unfortunately I don't have any words of wisdom, but I'm sorry for your poor doggie hope she's better soon (or is it a he?). Our doggie came to us with heartworm and after the wicked treatment, had to be kept very still for 4 weeks, we kept her in the cage as much as possible and prayed for the time to pass quickly.
