Well my MRI results are in and the diagnosis' is Cervical Spinal Stenosis.
I am going to pick up my PT order later today and get a 'cript for an anti inflammatory.

Anyone have any experience with this? PT recommendations?

gonna ketchup and see what is going on..

Recommendation: Drugs. Lots and lots of drugs.

Seriously, I hope you feel better soon.

It is.. check out the website.. http://www.ortho-spine.com/content/spine/spinal-stenosis-nerve-compression.html

Stenosis is a medical term used to describe a condition where a normal-size opening has become narrow. Spinal stenosis may affect the cervical (neck), thoracic (chest), or lumbar (low back) spine. The most common area affected is the lumbar spine followed by the cervical spine.
Wow... Hopefully the PT can loosen things up. I have Neuroma (in the feet) which also compresses nerves - no fun.

The Med shore trips are going fast and people are very upset, I thought this would happen due to it being DCL’s first trip to Europe and only being there a short season and other cruiselines being there all year and getting priority.
Wow! That had to be a record multi-quote post!

So let's see, DCL is going to the Med for the first time ever and people are surprised that shore trips are booking up fast? :sad2:

Wow it was near 90 today .....no more coats for us

We have a chance of going all day tomorrow without dipping below freezing.
First time since October.

Woo-Hoo! 5 days of ketchup - DONE!! :yay: And I think I managed to limit myself this time, so it shouldn't be a monster post.

There are worse airports to be stuck in. Try San Juan PR for 8 hours. It's an absolute tropical H*ll Hole.

Mmmmm. No, Kolkutta, India - the domestic terminal, 7 hours, overnight, travelling alone. The toilets are basically a hole in the floor - native style, not western style. A real cultural adventure. :rotfl2:

(I did however take a hotel room for the layover - it was my first time in India and I wasn't certain what to expect. After getting stuck in the domestic terminal when the flight was delayed - I was very glad I did!)

You need a wireless PCMCIA card - (Short for Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) but only if your laptop does not have a built in wireless adapter (which most do now a days). It can be bought at Best Buy/Circuit City.

..... and yes you can access AOL. It can be free or the site (like at Starbucks) can charge a fee.

Stace - Did you get your card working?

2) Do you have any favorite catagories of reading

Older Sci-Fi

Oh!! Space Opera?? I love Space Opera. I'm trying to figure out how to get my hands on the entire E. E. Doc Smith Lensman series.

Did you see the size of the balconies on those two penthouse suites on the Millenium???? I WANT ONE!! How awesome would it be to go through the Canal in one of those beauties?

We did our 10-day Alaska cruise on the Infinity (a sister ship - same layout). We had an aft cabin two decks up from the penhouses (yes, they do have spas on their decks). The balcony was nearly as big as the cabin! Our next cruise was on DCL and the balcony was so cramped in comparison. We got totally spoiled on our first cruise.

Received this e-mail from DCL this morning concerning the Panama crossing.

Thank you for booking a vacation with Disney cruise line, we have some important information concerning the Panama crossing 15 night cruise on August 17th, 2008.

...

We further ask all cruisers who are over 12 stone to either diet before the cruise or work out in the gym each day before the crossing to ensure the safety of the ship. Servers will restrict desserts to one per person until after the crossing.

I've wondered for some time, and have never been able to find it. (Isn't that strange?)

How much is a "stone"??? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can't tell you how much I LOVE that I have found an entire community of other people who just NEED to know the location of the 4 closest liquor stores 17 months before a trip!

Well, it's certainly going to be a FUN crowd. So long as we're all jolly drunks! :wave2:

This morning I was reading the summaries (Thanks, Lisa & Tom) and noticed the post about the t-*****s (thanks, Esteri). Was an email sent out yet??? Just curious, because I hadn't received anything.

Nope haven't sent it out yet. Still need to ask him about the pillowcases. Will be eating Sushi with him on Friday and will get the dirt then. Expect an email from me (or rather from Lisa from me) next week sometime.

I think the problem is some of the kids parents never learned this.....

Just recently my kids were participating in an afterschool basketball tournament (4th and 5th grades) that the gym teachers, on their own time, put together. My DS and a few of his friends, none of whom had played basketball before, were getting creamed by the other team (20 pts or so with 3 minutes to go). The gym teacher tells the team that's ahead that they need to pass twice before shooting and two of the parents quite loudly start discussing how "unfair" that is and that its "bulls*#@, etc. When the game was over, they told their kids how wrong the teacher was and what *#&$ it was! I give the gym teachers all the credit in the world for ignoring it, but these kids parents just don't get it. Thank god the game only had 3 minutes left or who knows what else these clueless parents would have done. BTW, my DS and friends were fine with getting creamed, they understood that they had never played before and were just there to have fun... that kid!!

Sheez. This is the reason we don't do competative sports until they're older. We'll stick with the dog shows - everyone behaves there.

However, my parents were at a recent mini-mite hockey tournament in Detroit last month with a nice experience. The hockey tournament was for 6-7 year-olds. My nephew's team was playing in the tourney. There was also a team from London, Ontario area in it. They were suppose to be in another tournament for better skilled teams, but that one was cancelled and this was a last minute change for them. Well, their team was extremely more polished, so the coach was doing all he could to keep it fun and not embarrass the other teams (ie. playing d-men on forward and forwards on D). Checking is not allowed, but at one point, one of this Canadian players checked a player on my nephew's team. Nearly all of the Canadian team's parents yelled at that player and one of the parent's apologized to my dad saying that "that kid knows better. We don't play that way and he'll hear about it." Dad was impressed, not something you'd typically see responded to in that manner here in the U.S.

:thumbsup2 Awesome!

Canada, eh?

I know a while back some DISers were talking about the August West converted to East Magic Cruise and the thunderstorm at the end of the CC day..... here's what the beach looks like when it thunderstorms

DisneyCruise701.jpg

Yeup - looked a lot like that, but with lots of lightening.

Warning....do not take a drink before you look........ it will be all over your screen.

Stace - you and the escaping mom's need these door signs

... Prepare the chocolate: Melt chocolate chips and butter in a double boiler. Stir until smooth.

Prepare the cookies: Carefully separate the cookies. Make a "tunnel" with the candy stick. Dip the stick in the chocolate and insert into the "tunnel". Carefully place the cookie back together. The chocolate will act as glue to hold the stick in and hold the cookie together. ...

Thanks! :thumbsup2 I'm working from home this week and next due to spring break. If I want to get anything done I have to keep the boys busy and our of my hair. 3 days down and I'm running out of projects for them. Tomorrow is dying eggs - how they got to 10 and 5 and have never dyed Easter eggs I'm not certain. :sad2: They're terribly excited about it. should keep them busy for several hours.

this will make a nice project for next week!

Tatoo talk -
I'm making my appointment this week. I want one on my ankle, so I needed to wait until there were 6 weeks between hockey season & sunshine. I know you aren't supposed to have new tats in the sun & I was afraid my skates would rub my ankle.

Anyway, the artist needs to work on it, but I'm getting something simlar to this with a nautical line (rope) instead of a flag pole and a bit more umm, 'motion' to it.

I'm getting this because it is the semaphore flag for the letter M & very nautical...therefore very ME.

Happy coincidence - it is also the flag of St. Andrew (patron saint of mariners & my oldest DS's name). Too bad I'm not Scottish. I'm hoping that the nautical line I want will make it look less like Scotland.

It is so cool that you've found something simple, yet has so much meaning for you. I look forward to seeing it!

What else?? Oh yeah - our Disney card is the castle. Not cause that's what we wanted, but becasue that was the default and we forgot to pick. :confused3 Would have got the classic Mickey otherwise.

DS5 fell this evening, and I'm still trying to figure out the physics involved. He hit top front of head (managed to bang next to his right eye) on a low window sill, lower back, and knees in that order. Lots and lots of crying, but nothing wrong a little ice and  couldn't fix.

He'll admit to walking on his bed and falling off it. I don't think he was jumping or he'd have been hurt worse. So he came off the foot of his bed, hit is head, must have bounced off either the end of the bed or bookshelf (to get his back) and then hit his knees. Though DS10 says he flipped over during the fall. :sad2: I dunno - it'll remain a mystery.

In any case, he's convinced himself that walking (and jumping) on the bed is a bad idea. One of those self correcting experiences. ;)

I'm just glad it was so minor.

I must admit, I do not have second sight, but could see that a year ago, when I booked my private tours.

.

Agree, the issue is, If you go on a carribean cruise, cruisers have different places to see, some the beach, some Dolphins, some historic sights and they are all near the port.

If you book a Med cruise everyone wants to see the BIG tourist attractions ROME,PISA,FLORENCE,MONTECARLO, these are all a distance from the port.

And with a high percentage of cruisers from USA who naturally do not know Europe to well, they will all want to book DCL tours.

And before I turn in for the evening...

Here is the latest nstallment of

7 Literary questions

book.gif

1) What was the last thing you read which was longer then 2 paragraphs?

2) Do you have any favorite catagories of reading

3) What did you bring to read on your last trip? C'mon - fess up - name it all if ya dare!

4) Any word games you like to engage in? What are they?

5) DO YOU REMEMER what sort of GRADES you got in your english or literary classes? What were the classes and your grades??? What-ever you can recall

6) Who reads more - you or your spouse?

7) What is the next book (or anything) you plan on reading next... be it tomorrow or tonight? ..... or when-ever....

Extra points scored for humor - however - all responses should have a thread of candor as opposed to being pure fiction. I shall contribute my reponses on these questions when next I log on... or by sunday since my saturday is jam packed with 3 easter egg hunts and a pot luck dinner gathering. IE, I don't think I'll be on much saturday...

Good nite and Enjoy!

#1 - the last thing I read was a web page on cabana construction seeing as I'm thinking / planning a backyard project for this summer.

#2 - Sci Fi, non-fiction stuff on various interests ranging from parenting to investments and humor. Otherwise... my main line is sci fi.

#3 - I brought old sci fi to reread - as such the ones I can recall include DUNE, and the original "the Hobbit" and a few magazines.

#4 - I actually don't do word games much but I thought the query would apply for the theme...

#5 - I did pretty good in these classes and was mildly passonate about English... I got mostly "A"s and possibly a B+ once somewhere.

#6 - Well... this depends I guess. I think I read a LOT more than my spouse - but she has to STUDY for her job and she has to cover a certain volume too. So I will diplomatically say its' a toss up.

tax.gif

#7 - I just bought a book on landscape ground coverings and lawns and since I just met with our CPA today - I've little left on our gotta do agenda for now... and leisure reading on what we might be doing this spring in the backyard is now shifting to our "front burner"
