HELP! I need professional help. (there's a big suprise!)

I absolutely want to take the laptop to Turks and Caicos this summer. With all the trouble I had logging on in California, I don't want to rely on the Palm.

So......I need a WiFi card. Our condo says it has wireless internet, and I know that Boingo has a wireless hot spot nearby......I just don't know where to start.
Who do I buy the card from? Do I need to sign up with a carrier? Can I still access my e-mail from AOL?

You need a wireless PCMCIA card - (Short for Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) but only if your laptop does not have a built in wireless adapter (which most do now a days). It can be bought at Best Buy/Circuit City.

..... and yes you can access AOL. It can be free or the site (like at Starbucks) can charge a fee.

Congrats on the nearly 10%. It certainly is an accomplishment. I met my 10% about 3 years ago and haven't budged one way or the other since.

Yeah big $$$$$$.... almost 1/3 of what I'm paying for the 15 night cruise!!! And this POTC thing in May is only 3 nights!! But, when the time came to book it, I just went and did it. I was glad I did as by the next day it was all sold out. Plus, I get to eat breakfast at POTC before the park opens. How cool is that???

LOL.... I figured that's where you were. Our YP Councils don't take place until May. Too cold to have them at camp right now. Too poor to have them in a hotel.

It's said, but even I think the kids look so young! I don't go any more but any time I have to pick up nieces or nephews from DMI, WOW.... can't even believe I did any of that or that I was that young when I did. And I'm not that old!

No you don't have to (you can and I have one but it is different). All you need to do is determine if it is a free site or a paid one and it will let you know when you try to connect to it.

No, with the card, you'll get WiFi service anywhere it's available...(it just automatically detects where there is service available that you can pick up.)
If you want independent service (mobile service) then you will need a mobile modem, and that requires service with a cell phone company...

I can attest to this knowledge first hand...

I caught myself the other day referring to my son as my DS. For the longest I refused to use the acronyms. But finally gave in. Now they've made their way into my every day speak!
