Morning Liz - The weather sounds like a perfect day to visit WDW. I am in a DISNEY state of mind. I quess I will have to settle on wearing my Disney tshirt, socks, earrings and sneakers!

Have a "MAGICAL DAY"

Karen

I know the feeling. I have already had my coffee and walked the dog and I am still sluggish!! Glad the weather is getting warmer for you.

I wasn't slow this morning, it was the boards that were slow and sluggish......:lmao:

Time to get the car warmed up and get Angelina to school, later folks.....

What a sad thought :sad2:

Don't be sad! Just think of this thread as evolving into a comfortable stable long-time relationship, burning less brightly but perhaps requiring less effort, too!

Hi Andy

Glad you are going to here soon ... Florida is waiting for you

Cool Beans!!!!!!!!!!!

Angelina told me last night, "Dad, if I get this job at B-a-B, mom can stay here with me and you can still go to Florida, for the week, by yourself." I love this kid, I probably would have done that anyhow................:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Question - what is with the Nutmeg???

Karen

Hi Karen -- someone had posted a while back that in large quantities nutmeg is a hallucinogen (similar to LSD) . . . really puts those Starbucks gingerbread lattes in an entirely different light, doesn't it?

Good morning Everyone. I am getting ready to head out to work. I hope you all have a great day.:)

It is supposed to be 74 here today. Think I'll wear a pair of capris.:)

better not post the room number or you might just get some crashers, those of us that can't make it back to our own decks...:rotfl: .....then again, I'm on 5 so someone can just push me down the stairs....:lmao:

i'll push you up the hall and down the stairs, Monica.

Aren't you near Lisa and me?

Good Morning Everyone! It's supose to get up to 67* today! But now they say s*** by Friday. :confused3 It is very mild right now.

Have a great day!

Morning everyone :goodvibes
It's a really beautiful day here. Too bad I will be inside all day:sad1:
Hope there isn't too much ketchup when I get back.
Have a great day

I'll say. Thanks for the info.

Just realized that there is a 23 minute time difference between my computer clock and the Dis clock. Does anyone else have this problem?

That's been true for a while . . . so it's not just you!

What is amazing is that this is a list of the 10 greatest albums of ALL TIME and except for th Clash, they focus on only a 7 year period.

Hard to believe there wasn't any good music before 1965 or after 1972 (except for the Clash).

Also, is this supposed to be "rock" only albums?

I think the genre is "mostly rock". Miles Davis has one at #12. Robert Johnson #27 :confused3 IMO, not rock, but if you are going to put that one on the list it should be much higher.

They got it right with The Clash, but the Sex Pistols aren't on the list until 47, behind the Ramones at 31. Now if we are talking about far-reaching influence, which I think they are with Sgt. Pepper, Revolver and Pet Sounds, then they missed the punk boat, so to speak. You can still hear those influnces in alt. rock today.

I thought the same thing about the release dates. Maybe all the reviewers were the same-ish age. Anyone anywhere near my age would put Nirvana's Nevermind & U2's Joshua Tree in the top 10 (17 & 26 respectively).

Good morning all! :wave2:

Hope this finds everyone doing well. Thanks for the well wishes and pixiedust: I'm on the mend and now my DD is  . Not the flu, just a fever of 102* and a pretty nasty cough.

Hi everyone. Just getting caught up from my day off in Santa Barbara yesterday. It was a beautiful day and lots of fun with one big exception. A large glass canister got knocked over at the candy store we had stopped at. Next thing I know my DD is screaming and her toe is bleeding all over the place. A shard of glass must have grazed her toe and left a pretty nasty cut. At first I was worried she might need stitches, but thank goodness DH is the calm one. He scooped her up and we took her back to the car and applied direct pressure until it stopped bleeding and then we bandaged it up really well. Fortunately we had tennies in the car as well so we were able to put socks and shoes on her and save the rest of the day. I did let her stay home from school today so she can stay off of it and give it more of a chance to heal. I don't handle these situations so well, can't stand to see my babies hurt. To cap it it all off, a lady standing outside the store made a rude remark to my DH as he was carrying my screaming DD out. I think she thought she was throwing a tantrum over not getting candy. Suffice it to say my DH's response was not too nice and once she saw the blood dripping off DD's foot, I think she felt very bad and embarrassed about being so snotty. Just goes to show that you can never jump to conclusions.
Hope your DDs foot is on the mend!

Thanks for your response! :thumbsup2
I actually do very much enjoy spending time with everyone's kids...
and I never had any problem with it until recently. With all of the preperations for the adoption, we've been very busy. We've expressed this to all of our friends and family, and apologized if we seem to be ignoring anyone.
But the past few times we've been asked to babysit, we say no, and that we're sorry but we have too much stuff going on. And instead of saying, "Hey, we understand...you've got a lot on your plate.", we feel like we're getting the cold shoulder. I don't know, it could just be me. I might just be overly sensitive. And I will whole-heartedly admit that we've been a bit selfish with our time and energy lately because we simply want to focus on our family and what's happening with us. I know that sounds horrible, but I just feel like this is "our time", and some of our friends and family don't seem to understand...and maybe they shouldn't. Maybe we're totally wrong to be selfish.

This is really more of a rant than anything, and maybe I should have put it on my blog instead of here. (although here is the SAFEST place for it, since I know most of the people I'm talking about won't read it here...LOL)
I don't mean to offend anyone. I just needed to rant for a bit...*sigh*

OK, rant over. Back to your regularly scheduled programming...:rolleyes1
Do not apologize or feel guilty for being protective of your time. Some major changes are heading your way :goodvibes and you are absolutely right to ensure time for yourselves together. :flower3:

HI All, just a drive by posting to let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but I've been really sick. Started last evening and continued all night into the early hours this morning. I still haven't had anything solid to eat and the liquids are going through me.

Anyway, I won't be around anymore today and I'm pretty far behind so I will probably rely on the summaries to get me through.

TTFN
Lorri, I sure hope you feel better. I myself am just feeling human again after battling for 3 days. pixiedust:

Hazel took Angelina to the mall today after school to see about a part-time job. Angelina heard that the Build-a-Bear store in the mall was hiring so she went and put in an application, the kid has an interview tomorrow after school.

Oh, dinner is ready, gotta run
pixiedust: Good luck to Angelina on her interview. pixiedust:

M: pixiedust: for landing the job that's right for you!!! It's a long and frustrating process but I'm sure it will work itself out! :flower3:

MR: Hope your day today is a whole lot better than yesterday!:grouphug:
