It is hot! My DS was so happy to head to water polo practice tongiht. He couldn't wait to get in that pool. It's a nice break after the cold (for us) winter we've had here.

I can't believe I wore black today! :lmao:

Mary, I wore dark blue to the pool does that count. Oh, Oh, I had on black bike shorts to day, so there you go we were both Goth Pirates.

Helloooooo Everyone and Happy Monday!!!!

Guess what???? I came home from work, exhausted I might add, turned on my TV and it's fried, kaput, finito.

Ran to Best Buy to buy a new TV :scared1: :scared1: at the prices of TVs now :scared1: and while on the way to BB, ran over a nail and got a flat.

I think I better go to bed now :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think you need to whip something up in the blender first

oooh...
.... I could go for some meatloaf right now.... but I do love my curry though and that's what I'm havin' right now.

Oh all the talk about meatloaf yesterday & I forgot to add my special recipe:

I use the Adolph's mix when I can find it. Not too original, but it comes with a tomatoey type sauce that I love.

OK, I have a question that's off-topic...(well, if there is such a thing as "off-topic for this thread...LOL)

But here goes. I would like to know how many of you take advantage of friends and relatives for free babysitting EVERY time you go out and need a sitter. I only ask because it seems that EVERYONE we know has kids. All of our close relatives (brothers, sisters) and all of our friends have children. And we have none (at least for the time being, hopefully we will soon!)
So I feel like we are the "go-to" folks whenever our friends and relatives need a babysitter. And it's always free. It's not like I would ever expect any of them to pay, but no one has ever even offered to pay. And don't get me wrong. I don't fault anyone for seeking out free child care once in a while. But it seems like every weekend we are being hit up by someone for free babysitting. I just recently started feeling a little bitter...And I feel bad for feeling bitter about it all. But I am. I guess maybe I'm tired of watching other people's kids, and I want one of my own!! If I'm going to take care of kids with no pay, I'd like to at least get to claim them on my taxes!! :lmao:
(that tax thing is just a joke, in case some state worker is reading this...LOL)

I saw your posting eaarlier today but had insufficient time to reply properly. HOWEVER, my setiments are more or less like Deannas'... perhaps you should selectively refuse to handle the kids every now and then. That will remind folks of the value of what you're doin'. And now to say it's a bad or good thing. BUT - boy do I wish we had some kind of help as you're providing for your family and friends. We have friends with kids - it's just we have not tapped them - while we've been tapped to help out a few times.

I guess maybe we are just a little reluctant to ask - and then we tend to do things or make adjustments to our plans so the kids can come with us. Technically.... it would be fair to say my spouse and I have had ONE date w/o the kids in 6 years. And we've had just a couple occasions w/o one or both of the kids in tow on a non-date social diversion.

So - maybe we've gotten used to it... and on the other hand ... NO... I am not used to going without the regular time for "us".

What you're doin' is really PRICELESS from my POV... and if it were me receiving your generous gift of care for the kids - I would be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL. I would at least offer a Mickey Bar with Sprinkles. Payable IF you enter my Mickey Ice Cream Bar Speed Eating Challenge... <chuckles>.

I would be Soooo grateful ... I would let you compete TWICE to get 2 I-Cream bars on me!

<steady silent grins with a Thumbs UP gesture>

I'm steppin' out now ta run a few errands...

C-Ya later....

You are too kind - I'm not sure that I have any of the qualities you mentioned!

Thought I'd let ya'll know that "Romancing The Stone" is on right now,:happytv: on AMC. Started 1/2 hour ago.

OK it's 7pm. I'm leaving work.
I love vacation, but I hate the week before & the week after...
I'm late for the Cub Scout pack meeting.

I'll probably check in tonight...I'll have, what, 3 pages of ketchup?

Nutmeg lovin', cake eatin', blended cocktail drinkin', retro song singin', chatty black wearin' Goth Pirates plotting our DCL invasion!!!

MR,

I was thinking that - many of the top people out. Are we saying that Lisa, J. R., Mark and Lorri talk too much? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: It's kind of like work, the bosses leave and the workers just slack off. :rotfl:

Another big poster not on is BIP. Has anyone heard how she is doing? Hope all is well with her.

The slow down might be a good way to lure in some lurkers. And yes, it is much easier to keep up with the board at this pace.

Oops......now I went and said they talk too much :lmao: who said that, not me, would I say something like that??...nooooo :lmao: I really like the pace too! Like Laura said, it was nice to ketchup in a normal amount of time.

You bring up Shelley too....I certainly didn't mean to leave her off the list....or Judy either, or Capt. either .....hey there Shelley....hey there Judy,...hey there Todd!!!

Shelley please post so we know how you're doing Pal!!

I figure that at my weight and mass that I would reach terminal velocity (note that term!) in about 10 seconds! :scared1:

I think I'll take pictures ....... again for all the insurance claims.
:thumbsup2

My bones are older and take more time to heal!!! I think I passed up my Zip Line days.:sad2:

70's here most of the week. Gonna try and talk Kev into letting me ride his cycle to work one day this week.

How is the new business going??? Are you putting in a lot of hours???? :confused3 It is so rare to play ketchup and post almost at the same time.

) :rotfl:

Hey Roger,

Where in WI did you live? We live just west of Milwaukee. It's going to be 60* here tomorrow. People here will be without coats and some in shorts. The body gets so use to the cold that 60 feels like 75.

Jeff, I spent 3 years in Madison at UW going to pharmacy school. I did have a girlfriend in Milwaukee going to Marquette so I spent a lot of time in Milwaukee. It is beautiful in spring and fall. :rotfl2:

I'll be rememberin' that line about being willing to back to jail if anything unaccaptable happens with my daughters' when I meet their first few boyfriends...

My dad used to offer them 3 things when they came in the door;
1. His Chair
2. A Cigarette
3. A Beer

If they took any one of them....out the door.

My bones are older and take more time to heal!!! I think I passed up my Zip Line days.:sad2:

I haven't reached my zip line, parasailing, or snorkeling days yet....& somehow I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon! Although I'm not a spring chicken....I certainly am A chicken!

With all these people gone, did we miss the cruise or something? :confused3

Great, I know what the dreams will be about now tonight. :scared1: :rotfl2:

MR, I am one of the quieter ones because I am always playing ketchup. Will you make me a special blender drink too??? I have a room on deck seven so I will not have to worry about stairs.:woohoo:
