Whats for dinner....................

Can of chili w/beans and some extra ground beef in it.... $0.85 for the can

maybe $2.00 for the extra Ground meat.

Corn-bread sticks $1.00 for 8 of them.

OK -
- this is my 3rd afternoon post... ( I had to take and make a call)... so yeah I was "shot at". This happened back in college. I was the president of the student union at my college and we threw a huge dance as a fund-raiser. We had some disruptive "gang" types getting physical on the dance floor and some of my staff came to me with the problem. They were reluctant to get involved. I had to act... and I called security and pointed them out after observing them. They were taken by security to the edge of campus and kept off the grounds. That evening after we closed the dance down we were caravaning to a coffee shop to ang out and review our accounting when on the freeway a car pulled along side my car just as the two adjoining lanes were splitting between two freeways. They took a few shots at me and it was a "scare" tactic as if they wanted to hit me or my car they could have. Youthful stupidity if you ask me.

So... I spoke to a detective the next day as to what my actions should have been and what my "rights" were. I explained that my family had a business that routinely encountered gang elements which mostly left us alone and that I was curious what I should do as I ran money to the bank on a regular basis. So... I'll spare you the nonsense the detective ran through with me - and just say I've never been shot at again since - and I naturally do not intend to expose myself to another situation again (if possible). I hav e no desire to harm anyone - but I am generally aware of my rights, and of what my actions should be in SOME varying circumstances to be a decent citiczen. I am not a vigilante or Batman type.

At any rate... I have to return to my chores.... TTFN...

Glad you weren't hurt. There are just crazy nuts out there.

Sounds like you are saving $$ for your TOAL!

I was at Walmart today and saw a POC head thing that you could hang on your door. It was motion activated to either alarm or tell jokes. It took batteries, so I couldn't try it out. How annoying do you think that would be in the hallway? It says it has a 6ft motion detector.:rolleyes1

I havent had time to post in over a week.....I read the summaries.....but did I miss anything important?

I am not going to even attempt to try and Ketchup. That is impossible at this point.

Anyhoo, we've been busy painting....thanks to all who posted their before/after pictures..finally got DH to get started on ours. I too shall post the photos, once he is done.

Went to a wedding this weekend...one word.. FABOULOUS!

So anyone in the NY/NJ area thats looking for a great place I highly reccomend the Venetian in Garfield NJ.
I was soooooo stuffed I thought I would EXPLODE!
Beautiful place and really good food.

On another note, my vacation blues have been lifted. We had NOTHING planned for this year and with the TOAL next year things were looking bleak. But since the IRS was so generous with my money this year, we have a big family/friends trip for this November. (no Disney:sad2: ) No one else gets our addiction. We are heading to Punta Cana DR. We will be staying at Sunscapes The Beach. I cant wait. Anyone else ever been there. Feedback is always appreciated.

Did everyone fall off the planet or something and I missed it??? :rotfl:

DS had 8 different things to do for homework, plus studying for a unit test.

I guess that's sort of like falling off the planet. :confused3

Attention eeyorelvr10!!!!

Hi Laura -- I sent you a PM about your picture, because I haven't gotten it -- I can send you my snail mail address if you just want to send a snapshot.i don't leave until the 23rd so there is plenty of time . . .

Good for you! I've never been to the Dominican Republic but it sounds like a wonderful relaxing beach vacation . . .

Wow!!!!!

Is everyone on vacation? I think there are only 3 pages since lunch.

DST is killing me. I could not fall asleep last night. 5:15 came far to early this morning. I am attempting to stay awake for awhile.

Dinner was pork chops, roasted sweet potatos and roasted caulifower. OK dishes are calling my name. Later......

I hope so! I could really use one. Since we will be going with several of my cousins, their kids and friends and their kids, we have plenty to keep DH and DS's occupied. That will leave me and a good book, a cocktail, and the girls.

:( November is so far away.

Hazel made beef cubes, mac & cheese and green beans for dinner tonight.

Angelina is so excited about her job interview with Build-a-Bear tomorrow after school. She found out they were hiring from friends at school that had just given the store their two weeks notice.

Good Luck to Angelina pixiedust:

I just ordered 2 sets of these. I hope it is fun. I had a GC for Barnes & Noble that I had forgotten I had.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Pirates Dice

Pirates of the Caribbean Pirates Dice. Think you can see through your opponent's lies? This dice set includes 4 pirate cups and 20 die that are similar to the ones shown in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The dice don't lie but you might have to in this fast-paced game of trickery and deceit. Do you have what it takes to be a real pirate? To stay alive in Pirates Dice, you must bluff or be bluffed. To win in Pirates Dice, you must double cross your way to victory. "Never trust a pirate!"

My sister has been once and my aunt& uncle several times. I don't know where they stayed but it was all inclusive. They said it was beautiful. I am glad your blues are gone.

Andy, sending Angelina good luck wishes! :wizard: I think Build-a-Bear would be a really fun place for a young person to work.
