I don't think I've ever had trouble hearing them. I will look into it (for a summer meet?) and send out PM's to New England DISers, and anyone else who is interested with info and get feedback .

Sounds like a plan! Count me in, but don't make it the first 2 weeks in Aug. I'll be on a quick RCCL family reunion cruise & WDW after that.
Ok, I have a little time to ketchup on the fluff since I last checked in, so good evening, everyone.

OMG where did you find that? It's perfect for this thread!

OMG!!!! Did you watch any of the other videos from her calls. I am listening to her views on love now. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, you have to hear what she says about her DH. :lmao: They have been married 50 years or so but with all the napping he has done it's really only 10 and then he doesn't pay attention most of that time so you have 5 good years. :lmao:

Yes I did catch the other ones. She appears to be quite the regular on Ellen now! She's hysterical!

:worship:
Diane, you made my day.....finally got a chance to watch the Ellen video....that was great!

Aw thank you! I'm glad I made somebody's day! :thumbsup2

Or is it be there or be talked about?

Or be there or be volunteered for a task force? :lmao:

Oh sure Lisa...SCARE up into going to chat!

Midnight was a Lab/Shepherd mix.

Andy what a cutie pie Midnight was. So sorry! I can tell you miss her very much! We once had a lab/shepard mix. Her name was Ranulf (Rani for short) & she was a doll! I got her from a shelter as a watch dog because I was alone while DH worked the midnight shift. They laughed at me at the shelter & said she'd be a good companion, but no watch dog. They were right she was so loving and such great company, but the first time we took her camping & a stranger approached me in the dark....OH MY you should of heard her bark! The shepard in her really came out & I thought she was going to pull right out of her leash! I loved her even more after that!!!

Have you heard of these mixed breed dogs like the labradoodle (half poodle, half lab)....yorkipoo (half poodle, half yorkie)....puggle (half pug, half beagle)?

You could get a bullpoo...Well, on second thought, that sounds a lot like a Bradgelina- just a pile of shirt!

I have a cockerpoo...half cockerspaniel & half poodle. Her name is Rosie & she's a real cutie, but very temperamental. I'll have to post her pic one of these days.

Okay....serious question here.....

There's all the talk about updating or doing something to our computers because of Daylight Saving....but, in Arizona, we don't observe DST. Our time never changes. So does that mean I don't have to do anything to my computer?

I want to move to Arizona...all this springing ahead & falling back drives me crazy. I hate when it gets dark too early. I'd rather have it darker in the morning. Can't they send the kids to school a little later? They need their sleep anyway! Geez! :headache:

Now that would be a challenge. To leave something for your future self on a future cruise. Hmm. Where would be a good place?

:wizard:

We talked about hiding something in our stateroom for our next cruise, but we then we think....nah it might be a long time before we cruise DCL again & even if we do, it probably won't be the same room. We're always wrong about that! But I also think that they clean so darn well (not complaining mind you) that it would never be there when we get back.

Happy Birthday Janieparty: party: party:

OK M, now we know what you mean when you say:

"I know stuff"

I'm on your team for Trival Pursuit!

I'll admit that I had to look up 3 of them.

Very good. Now try this test:

History
Describe the history of the Papacy from its origins to the present day, concentrating especially, but not exclusively, on its social, political, economic, religious and philosophical impact on Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Be brief, concise and specific.

Medicine
You have been provided with a razor blade, a piece of gauze, and a bottle of scotch. Remove your appendix. Do not suture until your work has been inspected. You have fifteen minutes.

Public Speaking
2500 riot-crazed escaped maximum-security prisoners are storming the classroom. Calm them. You may use any ancient language except Latin or Greek.

Biology
Create test-tube life. Then estimate the differences in subsequent human culture if this form of life had developed 500 million years earlier, with special attention to its probable effect on the English Parliamentary System. Prove your thesis.

Music
Write a piano concerto. Orchestrate and perform it with flute and drum. You will find a piano under your seat.

Psychology
Based on your knowledge of their works, evaluate the emotional stability, degree of adjustment, and repressed frustrations of each of the following:
Alexander of Aphrodisis
Rameses II
Hammuarabi.
Support your evaluation with quotations from each man's work, making appropriate references. It is not necessary to translate.

Sociology
Estimate the sociological problems which might accompany the end of the world. Construct an experiment to test your theory.

Engineering
The disassembled parts of a high-powered rifle have been placed on your desk. You will also find an instruction manual, printed in Swahili. In 10 minutes, a hungry bengal tiger will be admitted to the room. Take whatever action you feel necessary. Be prepared to justify your decision.

Economics
Develop a realistic plan for refinancing the national debt. Trace the possible effects of your plan in the following areas:
Cubism
the Donatist Controversy
the Wave Theory of Light
Outline a method for preventing these effects. Criticize this method from all possible points of view. Point out the deficiencies in your point of view, as demonstrated in your answer to the last question.

Epistemology
Take a position for or against truth. Prove the validity of your stand.

Physics
Explain the nature of matter. Include in your answer an evaluation of the impact of the development of mathematics on science.

Philosophy
Sketch the development of human thought. Estimate its significance. Compare with the development of any other kind of thought.

General Knowledge
Describe in detail. Be objective and specific.

:wizard:

I'd prefer the literature test. Can we go back to Shakespeare?

So there's what, 6 pieces to get for the Trivial Persuit pie?

Let's see, if we do our own game, it will first have to be a :cake: instead of a pie.

The area of questions can be:

POTC quotes
Math
Literature
History and Geography
DCL facts
DIS Board abbreviations, quotes and memorable moments

You guys forgot:
"What color was George Washington's white horse?"
and
"Who's buried in Grant's tomb?"

Just jumping in for a bit- is anyone on this thread familiar with tax laws and/or a tax lawyer and/or anything like that? If so, could you PM me because I have a question for you please.

One day the dr tells me my bells palsy is related to stress- and the next day I get a letter from the IRS. If that ain't stress... I don't know what is! :confused3 :sad2:

OMG where did you find that? It's perfect for this thread!

The original 'white ketchup' was from an advertisement for a laundry detergent -- one that makes everything white. I photoshopped the word 'fluff' onto it.

Would this be the passengers on DCL when the Captain can't dock at CC? :lmao:

Speaking of SQUARES....

Here's our first game for the weekend....

HOW MANY SQUARES ARE THERE in the image BELOW?

square.gif

The answer shall be multiquoted sometime this evening near midnite or available in CHAT tonight.

Correct. It's just a series of squares. No counting involved. Same applied for the rectangle problem except you have to care about multiple dimensions. (1x3 and 3x1 are not the same). The inner squares would be where people tripped up, but that's just a problem inside a problem and you extract that out and count separately.

Okay JperiodspaceRperiod...you do what you have to do but all that X2 stuff looks like gibberish to me! I stuck with counting & I also come up with 40.

Are you saying I post too much?

(It's true, of course. But I don't say much of any value, so I think it works out)

:wizard:

Of course not -- just that you are capable of tremendous volume, posting-wise!

I just thought of something. I know there are poeple that do geo caching (sp?). Where little trinkets are hidden and you hunt them down using GPS coordinates. I think they are even some things in DL and WDW. Anyway, I may search out some of those sites to get ideas of what/where they hide things. That might help us in planning.

Behind a picture, in a seat? under a vase?

Under a Resturant head server-manager as they do not move? ( well my last one moved on tip night)

We'll have this totally figured out by the summer . . . this is going to be fun!

:wizard:

JperiodspaceRperiod I don't know why everyone says what they say about you...I just think you are too clever! :rolleyes1

J/K! ;) I was just copying F Troop. You know when O'Rourke always says "Agarn I don't know why everybody always says your so dumb" & Corporal Agarn always responds "who says I'm dumb?" Am I showing my age?

Ok I am back.. dinner is done, eaten, cleaned up and daughter taken to work..

Wow you guys are tough with the trivia questions.. I think I can take an appendix out.. Do we get to use anesthesia? or not..:rotfl2:

Well, sure counting works as long as the solution set is small and you have a couple of good friends who will let you borrow their fingers and toes. But if Crash had posted the picture below, you wouldn't want to be counting!
