My youngest DS was "engaged" in pre-school. We found out when the prospective MIL/FIL told us about it at a party. We couldn't resist asking the then 3 or 4 yo about it. He was very sheepish but admitted it all. They were going to get married when they got tall. She dumped him a few weeks later for some other boy.....

First loves:bride: :groom: How sweet

It's funny.... my mother's father died when I was about 6 months old and my father's father just died this January. Even though there was about 30 years difference, the only pictures I seem to have with either of them are them holding me as a baby!

Yes....and a legitimate reason for staying up late on a Friday night.

Like we need a reason? We don't need a reason to chat anymore than we need a topic for this thread! :rotfl:

You could have taken advantage and posted another 400 straight times to get the xx,000 th post....

If it wasn't for that darn 40 second rule I might have done it! :lmao: :surfweb:

We have this game but no one here wants to play me! They think I know too much about it.:lmao:

Between me and my two brothers, we have a lot of Disney games. Magic Kingdom, UNO, and POTC Life are ok. However, for games like Disney Trivia, Trivial Pursuit Disney Edition, Disney Scene It, Disney Name that Tune (not sure of the real name), I'm usually not allowed to play those. :confused3

Thankgoodness I was on chat last night. :goodvibes I only have 700 posts to play ketchup (remember the purple ketchup ) tonight. I just wanted to say before I go backwards what fun I had on the chat last night!!!:cool1: Thanks for all being patient with me and for all the tips on chatting. It really was fun!!!!!! For anyone who was not here, "try it, you will like it!":woohoo:

A special thanks to Todd!!! I now know way too much about you .:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Has anyone eaten snow since childhood? I know, I know, don't eat yellow snow. No need to go there people. But honest to goodness tasted fresh fallen snow? I was outside shoveling for an eternity and on a whim, went over and picked up some nice clean snow and chomped on it. The taste just brought back a flood of memories of wet soggy mittens, building snowmen and digging snow forts, actually enjoying being in the cold for hours on end, hot cocoa and toast. Course, the backache I'm dealing with is severly limiting my sitting in one place too long so it's time for bed, but wow, what a unique sensation.

They aren't "up" as in all the way activated, they are flipped up so the rubber doesn't touch the glass, hence they can't freeze to the glass.

Does that help?

I understand that they are just flipped forward to get them away from the glass...like you do to change the blade...but don't understand what would keep ice from freezing around the hinge and keeping them from being able to be repositioned against the glass.

AAAACCCCCCKKKKKKK!!! Now I've got that silly song in my head.

So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all but oh dear?

You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that
grow around you

So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish

One of my favorite scifi book series ..... "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. The movie did not do it justice! :confused3

I love the photographs. It is like sharing our families with each other.

I hope we keep sharing these.
:goodvibes

I know that it really helped me last cruise. I was able to recognize almost everyone from all of the pictures shared on the thread. :goodvibes

Calling it a night folks. We're heading up to a golf show in Albany tomorrow and then up to Lake George afterward. It will be busy day so don't know if I will be around at all. And Monday afternoon I'm heading down to NYC to the FAO Schwarz store - we have a doll signing for the Last Mimzy (we did the collectible dolls) with some of the stars from the movie (including my personal fav Timothy Hutton) so I probably won't be back on until Tuesday night.

Have a great rest of your weekend and see ya on a flip side somewhere...

Now that's a good DISer! She is telling us when she'll be home to return the board.

We usually make "snow-cream" at least once a year but did not this year. My DW has a recipe that uses vanilla and other stuff. It's pretty good but not very WW friendly.

Less surface area to freeze when the blades are up so the wiper motor can break any ice that forms easily.

Pictures and mini-meets! That's how we get to know each other. :goodvibes

Jennifer I seem to remember adding sugar and maybe vanilla to snow when I was little. But I can honestly say haven't done it for years.
Hope your back is OK tomorrow.:)

Those family pics are great. I will try to get some on as well. I got my DS to at least get my avatar changed. He explained everything to this techno challenged mom and I hate to confess but all I heard was Blah blah picture, blah blah copy this etc.....He thinks computer as that is what he does all day and night. Oh well that's what the tech board is for:thumbsup2
