Honestly if one of my DH's cop buddies showed up at my door while he was suppose to be at work, I'd definitely :faint:!

Sorry Diane, my DH works nights (mid-8am) so he was asleep ... for me it was "Don't EVEN tell me that I'm going to have to wake him up and tell him something bad happened to a co-worker", kwim :confused3 Not a rational thought for someone w/a "normal" life ... but hearing the pending sale fell through was a RELIEF ::cop:

A set time ---- NO

but I can guarantee that most will be there around 1ish and there till we have to hurry back to the ship ...LOL I might be there a tad bit earlier LOL of course some shopping will have to be thrown in there for SM as well :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

Todd why bother going to swim!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: John and I will be there so just save a bunch of tables!!:rolleyes1

Hello to all. I got home from the hospital this afternoon. All is good. I don't think I will be down for long. I have spent the last three hours catching up. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Welcome to the newcomers. This board is so much fun! We will have to keep doing it after the cruise by talking about the 'let down', laundry, getting the weight off, paying off the credit cards and all those things that happen when we get back to reality!:(

Glad you are feeling okay to DIS!!!::yes:: It is all up up-hill from now on!!:woohoo:

I'm grumpy ... well actually, I'm Kandi, but I'm channeling grumpy right now :headache: For those keeping score, I had a list of "resolutions" that I hoped to be accomplished this year ...

1) TOAL ... and danggit, this one is NOT an option ::yes::

2) Get a new job

3) Sell our house and buy a new one

Soooo ... I got out of bed at 7:00 this morning and was awaiting confirmation of the 3rd and final interview for the "perfect" job, also awaiting acceptance on the offer that we made a new house, to go along w/the offer that we accepted a few weeks ago on our current house.

By 2:00 this afternoon, my life "resolutions" started to crumble ... first, NO-GO on our offer of the new house ... next, NO-GO on the "perfect job" ... finally, :worried: financing fell through for the buyers on our current home, thus NO SALE :(

I think that some others amongst us will understand when I say that the final news of the sale of our current home falling through being delivered by a Cop standing in my kitchen with the words, "I have some really bad news" ... was actually a relief :worship:

I, for one, cannot WAIT until Friday the 13th, I mean SHOOT ... Tuesday the 10th was bad enough

I had a whole week like that!!!:( :( I love the 13th on any day of the week. That is the date I picked for our wedding(almost 40 years ago) so John would never forget our anniversary and he has never missed on yet!!:cool1:

I am so sorry to hear that this was your day!!!

DH received a call from our Realtor and we had a *sorta* offer. A couple that is leaving for vacation asked if they could put ernest money down and then have a 30 day *option* on one of our houses...... during prime selling time??? Are they CRAZY?????
Yea, we want to take the house off the market for 30 DAYS while you go on vacation and then decide if the house is right for you......

Did you tell the people to go fly a kite!!!;) ;)

we were on 10 day southern sept 2006 St Lucia,Barbados,Antigua,St Thomas &CC. We did a zip-line in St Lucia and can't wait to go in PV this trip.

We were on the 10 sothern with Stephanie!!!:cool1: Do you recognize me??:confused3 :confused3

I will definitely lay in the sun for a couple of days before we go. Not because I'm worried about burning, but I don't want M to mistake me for a corpse & plop me in a lounge chair to hold her spot! :bitelip:

As long as you just hold still, it's all good!

Glad your surgery went well. Make sure to take care of yourself and not overdo things over th enext few days.

We'll probably have some base tan, but we are packing a ton of sunscreen. When I told my boss that Linda picked up 20 bottles of sunscreen on sale, she asked "Where you going for vacation, he**?" We're hoping to be able to ship it all to our hotel!

I plan on reading a ton of board information and getting more familiar with everyone. I don't want to overdo things. I have had many surgeries so I know the routine. Thanks for the advice.:)

This is not something I have seen mentioned. Do any of you tan before you go so you won't get too burned? I know I just had surgery and I will cover those areas. BTDT.:confused3

I plan to sit in the yard with DD while she plays in her little pool. The only time I did tanning was before our wedding. I wanted to even out my farmer tan since I was working outside every day and my wedding dress was sleeveless! BUT I was very glad I had done that when we went snorkeling and I didn't burn like DH did... We'll also be bringing out after sun/aloe lotion :lmao:

Well that all sucks! It's your turn. I was channeling Grumpy last night.

O.K. :thumbsup2 I've had him and ... no offense to Grumpy, but I'm about D O N E w/this particular dwarf ::yes:: Any chance we can just throw him overboard, or will that stir up a whole bunch of p.c. chatter about what sort of container he needs to be in :stir: Maybe I'll just mail him off to the Wonder for a while :confused3 ;)

OH ... and M, I saw those pics of your yurt ... if you're willing to sublet, I might want IN ;)

Yes I know exactly what you mean!

As long as you just hold still, it's all good!

:rotfl:

It's been a very crazy day here. I had the day off and was about to do the :laundy: when I noticed an ordor. Called the gas and electric company to check it out and we had a carbon dioxide problem. It appears that my house is to air tight when using the central air. They checked the furnace and the hot water heater they are working fine. They recommended an open window in the basement to solve the problem. What a scare.

:scared1: :scared1: Glad it was an easy fix! :goodvibes
Hello to everyone. I have been following this forum since it began and want to introduce ourselves.I'm Chris and my DW is Carol we booked this trip the day it opened and will also be sailing with DD Carol SL Bob and 3 GC Mike14 Matthew6 and Mikala4.The two youngest are extra-special to us and will share that story later. This is our 6th DCL cruise and can't wait. The information and chat here and at the pirate zone has been a great help for me planning this trip and want to say thanks to all who have put so much time and effort into making this happen.

Hi Chris, Welcome aboard:goodvibes

No more maple creme brulee?????? Hmmm I may have to cancel our upcoming reservation!!! I'm shocked.

I have a question about tiaras... Are most of you wearing real or play ones? I have three beautiful ones, but I'm afraid to travel with them because I don't want to lose them. Also, one is missing a stone. Any idea where you can buy those kinds of crystals? It is a colorful one.

I may just buy a good one that I don't have any sentimental attachment to for this kind of thing down the road!

Mine was less than $25 on Ebay:)

ATTENTION

Dolphin Swim in Cabo

They just opened up some 8:45 am to 10:45 am slots , I was able to change mine from the 12:30 pm slot ...

Looks like I will be spending a good portion of the day at Cabo Wabo :cool1: :cool1:

pirate:

Thanks for the heads up Todd - I was able to get DS and I booked for the 8:45!! What's even better is that he we told him that we couldn't get the ressie so we wouldn't be doing it so we're going to keep it a secret until that morning:banana:.

Glad both of you were able to get your wishes. Lorri, Joe is going to be so surprised:goodvibes

Lately baseball is getting to be such a pain in the add with all the games, it's hot, DS doesn't want to go & now the coach! I was saying to DS at dinner, "Why don't we just forget about Little league next year & try Tae Kwon Do or something?" He said he'd rather try wrestling, but he agreed that he's fed up with baseball. Don't you tonight he hits one all the way to the fence & the coach let him pitch for the first time ever & he did so well that he let him finish the game. Guess what? DS just loves baseball! :headache:

Funny, how a day can make such a difference. Diane I am glad he had a great game:)

We got married on my birthday (by convenience, not choice). DH is really screwed if he forgets!

Interestingly (at least to me!) my b-day, our anniversary is Oct. 8, DH b-day is May 8 --I guess 8 should be lucky for us. :confused3

:scared1: :scared1: Glad it was an easy fix! :goodvibes

Thanks! :goodvibes It is funny how that works! I should know that about DS anyway. He's so dramatic! One day the world is coming to and end & the next he's Mr. Happy-go-lucky!

Just noticed I missed the word know in your quote! Doh!

Does your DH agree that Oct. 8 is lucky for him!!!;) Just kidding!!!!

I just pick out formal colors that go with sunburn!
Seriously - our other 2 cruises:
1. it was March & we lived in CT - we were all pale, we all burned
2. it was March & we lived in AK - We were all really pasty - DS9 looks downright sickly if he doesn't get sun. DH actually went tanning a few times and he slightly burned, but he generally has skin that goes beautiful tan. I was glow-in-the-dark girl for sailaway - I burned eventually. However, my burn seems to be different - I'm red for a few days then go tan-ish. I don't so much tan as my freckles get closer together!

OH ... and M, I saw those pics of your yurt ... if you're willing to sublet, I might want IN ;)

Yurts are good, but the one-room thing makes it difficult to sublet. Maybe a Pirate Timeshare Yurt? YVC, anyone???

I'm grumpy ... well actually, I'm Kandi, but I'm channeling grumpy right now :headache: For those keeping score, I had a list of "resolutions" that I hoped to be accomplished this year ...(

Kandi, sorry you had such a rough day:hug:

3 new swimsuits?? Yikes. Do I need to come up there?.

ok cow in a size 2... :lmao: (JK) I did need an incentive program.

Actually i may need a pair of witnesses in a couple of weeks... It might be a weeknight though. (Need to fix my shunned catholic status)

This is not something I have seen mentioned. Do any of you tan before you go so you won't get too burned? I know I just had surgery and I will cover those areas. BTDT.:confused3

June, i started tanning about a month after my surgery. They have a special scar cream you can get to put on those areas since they're more sensitive to light.

Interestingly (at least to me!) my b-day, our anniversary is Oct. 8, DH b-day is May 8

Freaky trivia... My Dmom and Dmil both share the same birthday (diff years but same date):scared1:

BTW Pirates.... I'll be on internet again tomorrow am for those who watched me squirm previously. (Although i'm not as prepared this time)

Let me know - I'm there! Can we have a pirate: wedding??

Hmmm...does it work on stretch marks? I'm not good at pregnant... I gained 50% of my starting weight..twice!

BTW....we finally ended up with a new car that was just dropped off at a dealership 40 miles away!!! Our dealer switched out another car to get this one for us. I guess the 5th time was the charm!!! :faint: :faint: We bought it while it was still on the truck!!!::yes:: ::yes:: It is tucked safely in our garage now!!:woohoo: We got another little Vibe by Pontiac!!! It is really made by Toyota for GM.:thumbsup2 This is a 2009 and we had a 2005. John drives far to work and we had 46,000 miles in just three years. Not exactly a luxury car but it does give us 33 miles to the gallon of gas!!!:worship: :worship:
