In case anyone missed this on the Acapulco thread. Arelene, Chris and I asked a few questions and here's the answers from Roberto who is in charge of the port.

Arlene asked about alternatives to the organized tours.

You can take a cab directly to the restaurant, La Perla, pay your admission fee and watch the show, then take a cab anywhere you please. To know the dive tomes, just look at the ship arrnaged tour departure hour; I am sure it about 30 minutes after it leaves, they take them first to the diovers and then to the other places.

Chris asked about morning shows.

If you are the Disney Magic in August, I am sure they will have morning shows; since the Magic is arriving early and leaving early, they will probably start having shows for ship arranged tours some where around that hour.

I asked how many people could fit in the restaurants viewing areas since so many of us are trying to do this on our own now.

They have mutli level balconies, I am sure they can accommadate every one, so long as every one does not show up at once. The ship arranged tours are spread out to watch 2 or 3 shows, depending on how many people are going on those tours.

Last time I heard there where 3 shows, since there where over 800 guests on ships arranged tours.

I just got this off of the main board from a returning passenger on the 5/25 Mexican cruise. This is what I have been waiting for to make my transportation plans. I think it will help a lot of us as far as time tables for 8/17 AM.

So what are you doing for transportation, Roger? Doing supershuttle, or taking a shuttle from the Doubletree?
I am planning to be there early as well and was wondering what others were doing.

Those books were creepy beyond belief!!! Incest, keeping children hidden in the attic for YEARS, AACCKKK!!!!!

Those are the only creepy books I've ever read. I like things like Fanny Flagg.

I always loved the to read the weird stuff. That and true crime novels.

Let me begin by saying we are warmed with the knowledge your Dad is doing so well... I take that to mean he is clear of that which was threatening him! And that's a wonderful thing if I am correct, eh?

SO I'll return to my PEANUT BUTTER and STRAWBERRY jam sandwich now - well... actually it's a PBJ sandwich WITHOUT the bread... if ya know what I mean... < wink >

What a day its been.. First of all thank you all for the well wishes for my dad.. he went to the oncologist and was told he didnt have to be there since he looked so great. He also, but on 2-3 lbs from last visit. That was a very big concern to us..

Ok now that its 421 and I am caught up.. time to give son his laptop back and make dinner.. Talk to you all later...

I didn't get out as much as I had hoped but it was a great trip anyway. Thanks to everyone for all the FE gifts. I did see a few of you in the halls but I guess I ran opposite to many of you.

Need your thoughts and prayers for my father today. He's got an appt with a surgeon to determine whether or not he needs surgery for a hernia. My concern is that my dad is 84 years old. I don't know how he'd pull through surgery. He was just put on blood pressure medication last month. He's fairly healthy other than memory loss, but he's getting pretty old now.

They get close , but not close enough and they dont go by the full side of the ship thats closest to the shore ...I think I would have a better chance just running out there ...LOL

I am planning to be there early as well and was wondering what others were doing.

We will be parking our car at my DF and DM house. From there we will be taking probably PrimeTime shuttle to the port. Only a 20-25 min trip from their house. We will also take a shuttle from LAX back to their house, maybe 30 mins, so it works out quite nice.

Since it's only 9pm for me, I'd be willing to sit in chat with you. Not sure we could get in DIS chat though since they changed the rules. Supposedly the rooms are only open when a moderator is in there. We could do it on Pirate Chat though.

Monica our thoughts and prayers will be with your father. Just to let you know though that he is not that old when it comes to surgery. Yes it is an increased risk at his age but we do surgery on people his age and a lot older every day. There are no guarantees but the odds are in his favor.

Its a small world afterall..............I got a phone call from DSIL this evening from Delaware. In the school she teaches in another teacher was talking about a big cruise trip she was taking this summer. DSIL perks up and says, hey I think my SIL and BIL is going on that same cruise. DSIL got all the info from her and will send it to me. The funniest thing though, she has written down the piratezone website, the disboards web address and a number of other things including her ID. DSIL did not have the paper with her when she called so I am not sure who it is yet......... This person apparently is a lurker so if YOU is reading right now she should come out of hiding and say HI!

I appreciate you including my little princesses, my DD14 and I really want to participate, but you know the little ones wouldn't let us get away with not including them. We ordered dresses already for the girls and just need our tiaras/jewelry/gloves and we are set. I am SOOOO bizarrely excited about this...my DH thinks I am nuts!

You're not the only one. I'm an only child and my folks really couldn't afford all the frilly-froo-froo stuff when I was kid. And Kevin and I were never blessed with kids of our own,so I never had a little girl to dress up (guess that's why I collect porcelain dolls now!).
