Hope you all have a great time. I love mini-meets. Bartending is my favorite.:)

Now that is a really important talent you have been hiding!!!:woohoo: BTW....I love the beautiful FE you made. How long did it take. :confused3 I meant to comment but was sooo busy linking dining.:headache:

Cheryl, I had my thyroid checked about 9 years ago and I was hoping for an easy out too! No such luck, I was in normal ranges.

Whoa! 27 days, I better make some hotel ressies! Oh and save up my pennies for gas money!:moped: Or with the way the weather is going maybe rent a boat or one of tho se duck vehicles?

Our grand total of wristbands is 804. Will order some extra just incase.

Wow Tina ...........I was just hoping we would get to 500 to make them really cheap. You have outdone yourself!!!

No boat needed here just in Wisconsin. We have not had a lot of rain. I have been doing a lot of watering!!:headache:

Less for some of us :goodvibes :goodvibes Only 5 1/2 days 'til I get to meet Cheryl :cool1:

Of course you are thrilled too!!!! Right!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Our prayers are with you
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You will need more than prayers in 61 more days !!!:stir: See......I actually like Tracy!!:rotfl:

Tracy, what does the WINO stand for?

I can answer that .....she likes wine.::yes:: She also has a huge wine cellar.:cool1:

Tracy are you coming to Chi later this week??? Drats.. I'd invite myself along but i am going to the chocolate buffet on Friday.. so i'll still be downtown until Saturday.. and about 10 lbs fatter from the chocolate..

BTW is 90 by madision still closed?/ Our Boy scout troop had to go the Milwaukee way to get to wild rose - camp napowan -

Susan we didn't invite anyone because we are just meeting at Woodfield for an hour.:( She is coming in for a Unplugged Cast and I have my Cancer Celebration party I have been organizing.:hyper: :hyper: Eat some chocolate for me and keep the calories!!!:rotfl2:

Have fun! We just love her and John!

You have impeccable taste and you actually know me!!!:rotfl:

It's really a good thing that I have a good metabolism -- granted after age 45 things do slow down some! -- because if I didn't I would be very overweight! I love food and hate to sweat!!!

And she really does eat more than me and keeps losing weight. It is not fair.:offtopic:
.

Happy Anniversary Debi and Kevin!!!!!!!

ATTENTION ALL BOOK READERS

I'm curious if anyone is concerned about also dragging along enough books to read while we are onboard? I was curious if we had enough people to bring a book or two and switch off with others so we can all have enough reading yet not have to bring a bag of books along.....thought that if there enough of us interested we could offer up our reading choices and/or books we could bring along that others would enjoy also.......any takers? Or does anyone have a solution of how you are bringing books along with you if you are bringing several of your own?:beach:

I've picked up some paper back books to bring and read. I will have no problem passing them on when I am done :).

The embroidery took a little less than 3 weeks, sewing it took a couple of hours.

I still have to make one for Jack (Jackington) and his gang.

I believe I am officially in charge of hanging a bag or something similar outside my cabin for the book exchange. The plan is to have one central location to drop off / pick up the books.

I have to work on the list of the people interested and post it here
I will get that done tomorrow

:cool1: That is awesome! I am proud of you. Keep up the good work. I think a few of us are talking about getting together in the morning to walk/jog around the ship. Are you also interested?:cool1:

I was looking at the morning walk and yoga they did on the westbound. I try to do at least 2-4 laps before retiring for the evening (walk off dinner/after dinner drinking).

That's so sweet!

Kevin and I were married 29 years ago today. But we'll be doing our real celebrating while we're on the ship in Aug.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Enjoyed a slow day here at work today, that all goes away tomorrow when my boss is back, but he leaves again on Wednesday, back on Friday and then leaves again on Monday for that whole week. Hopefully that means I will have time to do some reading here and start my lists for the cruise. Where did the time go - 60 days from right now I will be wrapping things up at work to take BART to SFO to fly to LA. :cool1:

Great :thumbsup2

What would be a good location for everyone. I know we have some people in NYC and some in South Jersey - I am in Central NJ and only about 30 miles away from NYC if everyone wants to meet in Manhattan

I think we might be the farthest north (about 100 miles or so from Manhattan) - but NYC would work for us also.

Well...good news from Spirit for us! I didn't have to pay for the selection of our seats!! I had emailed them on their website and had gotten the "you will hear from us soon, thank you for your questions". I then spent an hour trying to call and being on hold to talk to a customer service rep. I was so nice to this guy (not sure if their call center is here or in anohter country). I started losing it when he started talking over me. OMG, this guy never verred from the script he had to read. Nothing human or apologetic or anything. I got his name and hung up. I had planned on emailing the CEO. I wrote the letter, but was still editting it, and hadn't sent it, when I received the other standard email response about the seat selection.

Wow, did that set me off, it was a standard form letter. I responded to it, and mentioned that fine, I will wait till I get to the airport to pick my seats, but when we can't sit with out kids, who is going to be responsible when/if my son has an asthma attack, or my daughter has a seizure??

Guess who called me on Friday!! Yup, a rep from Spirit Airlines!! Apologizing that there was a mixup, since they just upgraded their computer system and I should not have gotten the form letter. LOL, I didn't believe her..but heck, she was willing to help me, since I did book my tickets before the policy changed!! Wow..isnt that nice of them!!

She booked us a row, and gave me her name and phone number. I did thank her and was really nice to her!! I checked over the weekend to purchase my 10.00/bag fee before those rates go up and what did I see, NO SEAT SELECTION!! I left her several messages on Friday, and several today. I then responded to her email to me, with her phone number, and then for the heck of it, tried her 1 more time!!

She apologized, and checked, and said, I am sorry, I must have made a mistake, lets pick them again. When she did it Friday she gave me a row, that I really didn't want, this time I requested specific seats, that I saw were available!! I printed out my ressie with the seats so I have it when we fly home!! Not that I don't trust them...but heck!!!

So, 40.00 saved...but is it saved it I wasn't supposed to pay it to begin with :confused3 .

Anyway..my flights are taken care of..now off to book rental cars, and the DL hotel.

Anyone know a good CLOSE hotel to LAX from the night we land?? Does LAX have like a Hyatt like MCO??

Thanks guys!!

Airlines are very frustrating to deal with now or actually always.;) ;)
We are staying at the Marriott right near LAX. It is the DCL preferred hotel other than the Disney properties. We are taking the transfers from LAX to the Port. The rooms was $139 a night but I got a senior rate!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Happy Anniversary! I hope that Mike and I will make it just as long, if not even longer. It's so great to hear of couples being married for a long time and still going strong.

IMO...there are too many people using divorce as an easy out of a relationship that takes a little extra work. I'm not saying divorce is bad, but I have too many friends and others I know who have given up on their relationships and divorced instead of trying to work things out.

(I'll get off my soapbox now.)

I totally agree. If that was the case with us,we would have split before our 2nd anniversary. We've been married our entire adult lives!! (both were 21).

We are flying in on the evening of the 14th, staying one night near the airport. Friday, the 15th, we are driving north to see our son, and then staying that night and the next at a DL hotel. We are going to rent a car, at LAX, return it near DL, and take the Pirate bus to the port on the 17th.

I will be home tomorrow since out plasma tv decided to loose its picture on Sunday... the dumb add service company cannot give me a time frame until 9 am tomorrow - I questioned thier " conveinent service times" as described while on hold. It is really hard to go from the 42' HD to a 19" fishbowl!!!!

But I can get so much accomplished for the cruise :)

That is always so frustrating!!! I hate dealing with service people! I've had my share the last couple of weeks! UGH!
