Dress shopping, ugh, never pleasant. Knowing me, I'll probably wait to the last minute and whine that I can't find anything.
At least I have a pirate night outfit courtesy of my husband(Peter/darthrugby)

Just an FYI -- formals are usually on clearance in July. July of '06 I bought 6 formals for less then $300 (I was buying for 2 people). Thye were 50 -80% off retail! I still have a couple with the tags still on them...... I may wear those...or I may buy new ones....:rotfl:
I already bought one new one from lizclaiborne.com....it was 75% (?) off....

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Got an appt for my 6 month follow up.

The "Neighborhood Ladies" are taking me out to a local pub Friday night to celebrate. Since I have a designated driver I think I may just have a drink...or two :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :faint:

I can not tell you how happy I am for you! :dance3: :yay: :dance3:

Did you ever have those days were everything goes RIGHT? Yesterday was one of those days for me...

We fired up the pool pump last weekend and was not working properly. Now, DH's only job with the pool is to get that pump going and I do the rest for the entire summer. To say we were having some heated discussions (he was being a typical guy - ya know, like a man asking for directions), about him refusing to call a professional to ask for opinions, is an understatement. Well, he finally asked and figured it out yesterday. Plenty of time for me to clean it up and heat it for the summer-like weather that is coming in this holiday weekend.

Had a teacher meeting - DD got a less than stellar progress report. They send these out in between the closing of the marks. Well, turned out to be no big deal. She had missed a couple of assignments from an absence and just being lazy. That, I can handle/fix. Then, more importantly (I know, priorities), I had not mentioned anything about the cruise yet. She will miss the first three days of school. She is in "Looping" and will have all the same teachers next year. Even though I know they are pretty cool teachers, I was still a little nervous about bringing it up. Well, NO PROBLEM. Her Social Studies teacher will give an assignment related to Panama Canal (which will be fun stuff - he gives weekend homework like hug a tree and stuff like that), and the report we are going to do over the summer and cruise on the PC will be perfect. She will present it to the class when she returns. Whew - one more thing out of the way for the cruise.

It has been quite a winter and I want to say Thank you :thanks: to all my DIS freinds who have offered up such wonderful support through postings, PM's, cards, a little surpise gifts. It is appreciated more than I can ever express :grouphug: :grouphug:

Paula- The store looks very nice. Just to show how much I know, I thought the 1st pictures were after and I was thinking "That looks nice". :lmao:
The after pictures look very nice. :thumbsup2

LOL, I thought that, too! Paula, your store will end up looking even BETTER than it already did, and that is saying a lot!!!!

I think Shelley (BIP/BBB) is a lot closer to you than I am. We are kinda on opposite ends of the metroplex. Makes getting together tougher. I will keep my eyes open if we are going to be over in that direction.
.

DH is willing to drive me anywhere in the metroplex for a *meet up*! ;) I try not to drive out of Tarrant County! :)

And you are right we are on opposite ends -- far North & South! :rotfl:

I've invited BIP before........

I can take a hint! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Coral,

We would love to get together sometime! There is a family from Ft Worth on this cruise and I had PM'd them but, they aren't interested in getting to know anyone.... I think they had a ds around my ds's age and I thought it would be nice...... Oh, well.

Isn't BBB near us?

I live near 360........
I hope it wasn't ME that is the family you're talking about that wasn't interested? ack! LOL I don't remember not being interested but I remember something about some get together that we couldn't make because it was on a sunday or something like that- I've slept since then so it's hard for me to remember the details. LOL

Looking very dismal. I have not heard anything from any of the jobs I've bid for both within my current company and outside. Not even a no thank you letter. :sad2:
Oh... bummer. I'm so sorry! :(

SHELLEY -- you will always be "Bip" to me . . .

You will see the changes tonight . . .
LOL
I have a feeling I'm BIP to a lot of people. I wonder if people use the name BIP if OTHER people who hear it will look at me funny. like thinking that's my real name or trying to figure out what kind of nickname that is or something? LOL

I am so happy for you (cancer free woohoo    )

Everything else is great too.
I could relate to the part about the pool- that's the same way it is here.. DH only has to get the mechanics working and keep them working- I do everything else that pertains to the pool. Recently we realized the 2nd pump that makes the bottom cleaner thing move around stopped working. Took some nagging but finally got him to fix it- good thing he's mechanically inclined like that! :)

that's great about the school too. Yeah I'm procrastinating a bit about talking to our schools too. but push comes to shove- we're still going on the cruise. I talked to Ruby's band director- he's cool with her missing part of the summer band camp- haven't talked to the school though. ditto with the younger two but I'm procrastinating mostly because I also have to talk to the principal about the classroom placement for my son next year- because this year DID NOT WORK well.... last year at the previous school did work well (previous year to that, 2nd grade, didn't work well)- and my point is now I know what works for him and what doesn't work is having him in a class with only 3 girls- the rest boys and quite a few of them major trouble makers (like to the point they got suspended several times). My son didn't get suspended but he got in trouble all year- he can't be in a classroom full of trouble making boys! Too much of a follower trying to be "liked" I suppose. the year (3rd grade) he was in the advanced class (that they had at the other school- long story but suffice it to say the different elementaries do things "differently"- one school has an advanced class and dual language program and one teacher for the kids thru 5th grade, this school doesn't have the dual language program (just a spanish class once a week), does the multiple teachers (one for each subject pretty much) thing, and doesn't have an advanced class/etc. ANYWAY the year he was in the advanced class all the kids were quiet, well behaved, mellow, etc. and he followed suit- excellent behavior marks all year long. yanno? some kids can't just IGNORE other kids constantly misbehaving. He learned a lot of bad things this year- some I'm still trying to stay in denial about so I won't discuss. LOL

ugh boys.......

I"m closer? IDK where y'all are at- but I'm kinda sorta in between FW and Waco.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sweet Tomatoes! I wish we had them around here.
Gotta love a place where you can eat 2500 calories worth of salad!

I think I had a few more calories than that!!!;)

Lucky you . I had to turn my heat on today.. A mere 62*in the house this morning..:upsidedow

So much for the middle of MAY. My pool is opened but it looks more like a ice rink...

We are only lucky to hit 60 degrees everyday and the temerature should be 72 for the average!!:sad2:

Morning John..............

Got home from the airport at 1:30 and right to sleep. 2 late nights in a week. DS was in San Francisco Monday and thought the city was great. Ate at the Wharf.Good time had by all. Glad he is back.

I have a feeling Chad might be moving to San Francisco soon!!:rolleyes1

Looking very dismal. I have not heard anything from any of the jobs I've bid for both within my current company and outside. Not even a no thank you letter. :sad2:

Just remember your luck is changing.:flower3:

Here are a couple pictures from my remodeling. It seems to me to be going slow, but I guess it is because we have had so much rain. Painting on the rest of the exterior should be starting by Friday.

Before they started

It is more like a sickness, I hate paying for anything regular price.

Cheryl would be proud of me - it's original price was $202 and I bought it for $50!
