Did you ever have those days were everything goes RIGHT? Yesterday was one of those days for me...

We fired up the pool pump last weekend and was not working properly. Now, DH's only job with the pool is to get that pump going and I do the rest for the entire summer. To say we were having some heated discussions (he was being a typical guy - ya know, like a man asking for directions), about him refusing to call a professional to ask for opinions, is an understatement. Well, he finally asked and figured it out yesterday. Plenty of time for me to clean it up and heat it for the summer-like weather that is coming in this holiday weekend.

Had a teacher meeting - DD got a less than stellar progress report. They send these out in between the closing of the marks. Well, turned out to be no big deal. She had missed a couple of assignments from an absence and just being lazy. That, I can handle/fix. Then, more importantly (I know, priorities), I had not mentioned anything about the cruise yet. She will miss the first three days of school. She is in "Looping" and will have all the same teachers next year. Even though I know they are pretty cool teachers, I was still a little nervous about bringing it up. Well, NO PROBLEM. Her Social Studies teacher will give an assignment related to Panama Canal (which will be fun stuff - he gives weekend homework like hug a tree and stuff like that), and the report we are going to do over the summer and cruise on the PC will be perfect. She will present it to the class when she returns. Whew - one more thing out of the way for the cruise.

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Got an appt for my 6 month follow up.

It has been quite a winter and I want to say Thank you :thanks: to all my DIS freinds who have offered up such wonderful support through postings, PM's, cards, a little surpise gifts. It is appreciated more than I can ever express :grouphug: :grouphug:

The "Neighborhood Ladies" are taking me out to a local pub Friday night to celebrate. Since I have a designated driver I think I may just have a drink...or two :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :faint:

Here are a couple pictures from my remodeling. It seems to me to be going slow, but I guess it is because we have had so much rain. Painting on the rest of the exterior should be starting by Friday.

Paula....that looks great. BIG improvement. It'll all be worth it in the end, right?

Dress shopping, ugh, never pleasant. Knowing me, I'll probably wait to the last minute and whine that I can't find anything.
At least I have a pirate night outfit courtesy of my husband(Peter/darthrugby)

You sound like me. I always wait until the last minute to find a dress. And then I am in a panic. You think I'd learn my lesson.

That is THE BEST news! Ds was causing us to want to pull our hair out yesterday, so thank you so much for the reminder to not sweat the small stuff.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

What time are you coming in and leaving on the 26th???

Our flight does not leave unti aroundl 7:00pm I think.

Coral,

We would love to get together sometime! There is a family from Ft Worth on this cruise and I had PM'd them but, they aren't interested in getting to know anyone.... I think they had a ds around my ds's age and I thought it would be nice...... Oh, well.

Isn't BBB near us?

I live near 360........

I think Shelley (BIP/BBB) is a lot closer to you than I am. We are kinda on opposite ends of the metroplex. Makes getting together tougher. I will keep my eyes open if we are going to be over in that direction.

Ok, I'm tired...I just saw them as a celebration not as answering the question

Don't feel bad- I did too.

Paula--

The store looks great! :thumbsup2

Paula....that looks great. BIG improvement. It'll all be worth it in the end, right?

Thanks:goodvibes , It has been a challenge. It will be great when it is all completed--just taking longer since we just couldn't add on to the building. Gas stations in general nowadays aren't the most popular places:sad2:

OK, Mary Ann's cancer, but still! :)

FABULOUS news  :dance3:  :dance3: It certainly sounds like you did in fact have one of those "charmed" days :woohoo: Enjoy the pub w/the neighborhood ladies ... you've certainly earned a drink or two :flower3:

John is a 100% Italian and I am 50% French and 50% Czechoslovakian. I tell my children the better half of them is me!!:lmao: :lmao:

Cheryl - this explains so much! :lmao: We have a family friend who is Czech and is one of the most "thrifty" people I have ever met. She can find a bargain anywear! Clearly it is in the blood :rotfl2:

Johnna, I totally agree. Dress shopping is the absolute worst---------I forgot about the swimsuits:scared1: Dress shopping is definetly 2nd!

I just plain don't like shopping! I really hate swimsuit shopping (thankfully, I don't need to do that this year - I have enough to get me through) and fancy dress shopping isn't much fun either. I did bite the bullet yesterday and went out looking at dressy stuff. I found a dress for the Grown-up Princess night - very "princessy" - but I feel very odd in it (its much softer and feminine than I usually wear and much lower cut than I usually wear) My mom talked me into buying it and DH seemed to think it looked OK when I tried it on last night. Cheryl would be proud of me - it's original price was $202 and I bought it for $50!

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congratulations! Great News!

Pamela

Lucky you . I had to turn my heat on today.. A mere 62*in the house this morning..:upsidedow

So much for the middle of MAY. My pool is opened but it looks more like a ice rink...

It has been in the 90's here this week..... On Monday it was 99.....:scared1:

This is why she needs me to proof read. Didn't you mean PM'S and not PMS? What am I going to do with her.
Godda luv her.

John

It's because her and I try to type as fast as we talk! :lmao: :rotfl2: Who can proofread at that speed???
