We are going to WDW for a week next month. I have had our WL ressie for a while. When AP rates came out I tried to apply them to my ressie. Well, I got 2 days at the AP rate and the rest at rack. I have been calling every day to see if any AP's come open. A WDW rep told me there was basically not a room to be found in all of Orlando while we are going to be there. :scared1: Now I know they are not all going to WDW but YIKES!! This is our 1st trip during the summer and that was making us nervous enough. This should b e very interesting.
Since we go frequently, we are not going to stress it.

WDW has quite a smell in summer

From what I understand (because we tried this last year) It now just bears the Anaheim, Ca postmark.

Bummer...

... I wonder how much they're saving by not having a post office inside the park anymore?

DH and I have pirate: shirts ...mine of says of course: Time flies when you are having rum. Dh's says You can't be my first mate but you can be my next mate.

We bought them for a pirate themed mystery cruise.

Good morning everyone!

I found Kevin a "Goonies" t-s*** last year. At that time he wasn't planning to dress for Pirate pirate: Night and I thought he could that.

If my kids go to Mass and confession on the cruise, does that absolve them of missing the first week of school? :confused3

If we volunteer Little Enna Jr. to do a reading a Mass, do you think the principal (SSJ) would accept that for an excused absence?

My mom always said, "You'll never know unless you ask."

But, I think your school would say, "Um, NO." :)

I have the opposite problem. I apparently 'look' Hispanic (even though I am not). I once had a lady come up to me in the LA airport and start asking me questions in Spanish. I had a gate agent in Miami speak to me in Spanish. I went into a grocery store with a fellow Scout leader in Woodstock and the lady behind the counter spoke to me in Spanish and him in perfect English! I don't speak a word of Spanish.

(To make things even funnier, SWMBO is 1/2 Puerto Rican, so my kids are 1/4 Hispanic and technically a minority, so we often will mark the 'Hispanic' checkbox just to mess up the surveys. I can't wait until my blue-eyed, blonde son applies for a minority scholarship in college).

This is exactly my friend's problem! Her father was a Spaniard and her mother is Mexican-American (3rd Generation American). She happened to get the Mexican features, but barely speaks any Spanish. She regularly has people "babbling" at her in Spanish based on her appearance - drives her crazy!

Her daughter is like your son - her father was caucasian and she didn't get ANY of the mexican features, but she is 1/4 Mexican.

My mom always said, "don't ask me any more questions, you ungrateful little brat", but maybe that was just me.

I just finished looking at everyone's excursions on the pirate site. I am doing at least something with almost everyone. :thumbsup2

Coral, maybe we can say howdy when you are in town.

Finally re-registered and added the Moms to the list of excursions.

DO WE HAVE PLAGUE??? No one is doing anything with us!! Or did we pick stupid stuff??

No, stuff DH is unable to do :confused3 I had 2 wish lists :goodvibes

I really hope 'mousehouseman' refrains from commenting on this. It's the type of setup that could get John in trouble for a long time...

:lmao:

Geez, Louise, I'm glad that I checked the DIS on our break. You folks wrote 15 pages since I last checked this morning. My brain is already mush from today's sessions and I still have one more to do (from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.) before I can turn my mind off for the day.

You've got to slow down here or else we're all going to go into hyperdrive and burn up! :)

We went to dinner at a little hole in the wall Italian place last week. It was a typical family-run place with pictures and junk all over every wall - really, not an inch of white space in the place. In the middle of dinner, DS7 seemingly randomly busts out with:

{nice voice} "Welcome friends."
{mean voice} "Employees only!"

We looked at him like, huh? Until we saw where he was looking. Above the door to the kitchen was one of those kitch catalog "Welcome Friends" signs, and on the door was a standard-issue red Employees Only sign.

Now that would completely go over the head of most adults I know!

We'll have to introduce him to DS8. He was dressed as the human torch for the first grade halloween party last year. They were corraling the kids in the hallway for the "parade through the school" He turned to the kid next to him and said "I'm really a sheep"

My mom always said, "don't ask me any more questions, you ungrateful little brat", but maybe that was just me.

Maybe our mothers went to the same child rearing classes? Except my Mom didn't say brat. She was a bit more colorful with her languge.

When my DW needs to smile, she makes me do "shimmy down the rope and find your seat in the boat!" :lmao:

TMI, Mike

i took 2 years of it, but didn't really learn a thing. I can still recite the first page of the book because we spent about a month on it.

Oh yeah, I also know "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir, s'il vous plait?"

TMI, TMI !!

Note to self: Cheryl has PMS to spare.

TMI, TMI, TMI !!!

Share it here too!

That happened to me all the time in FL. I don't get it. Several of you have met me in real life. If I'm Hispanic, I'm the pastiest whitest Hispanic I've ever seen!

We have a friends who did that. Their 2 kids, Kevin and Connor ReallyIrishName are blonde haired, blue eyed, 1/4 Chinese.

It might be fun to sign my brother up for the beer tasting, just to watch his head explode. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Then we'll have someone to save both of our chairs!

When I first heard that song, I thought they were singing "Poulet, poulet chez avec moi" which would roughly translate to "Two chickens at home with me"

You could serve them with marmalade.

How does that work? :lmao:

Ohio ain't that far from West Virginia.

I'm Irish,Danish,French and German.....now what? ;)

MMMmmmm, I like danish.

WDW has quite a smell in summer

:rotfl2:
Oh yes it does.

Yes, if I try to answer, my brain can only come up with German! At least with German, I have a slight chance of being understood - there really aren't too many out there likely to understand Finnish! :rotfl2: I had a co-worker (way back when I worked for a large company) who was from Finland - he told me that not even everyone from Finland speaks Finnish. He was raised in an area that did speak it, but he also learned Swedish since most TV was in that language. He then went to boarding school in England. Along the way, he picked up several other languages and at the time I knew him, he was fluent in about 10 different languages (including Russion and Japanese!) Makes my little bit of German and Spanish look pretty pathetic ;)

Pamela

Yeah. Finnish is like the world's worst second language. hardly anyone speaks it - and most of them speak English / German / French anyway.

Same deal here, though DH is 1/2 Costa Rican. They tend to be fair skinned anyway - so my fair skinned, brown haired, hazel eyed boys "count" as a minority. :confused3 It's gonna make life interesting for them.

Since DH doesn't look "Hispanic" no one ever expects him to speak Spanish - though he speaks it quite well. I think it makes for some interesting overheard conversations sometimes.

How does that work? :lmao:

And this is why I went back and clarified what exactly I meant when I said my Dad married my uncle. :rotfl2:

we need this on a t-shirt

Hey! I know a really good printer.... :rotfl:

Well, I'm off to go finish configuring the shopping cart - try not to blather on too much? Keeping up has been difficult. OK?
