I am an only child, so to get revenge on my parents, I had 5! :)

My oldest 3 are 16,14 and 13, then we have a 10 and a little 3yo. I think the closer in age ones are actually easier because they all have each other (now, that is, when all 3 were under 3 and in diapers, that was a different story!) They help each other with homework and school projects and are really really close.

The 10 yo is our poor middle one. And she is a sensitive young lady, so she kind of gets the shaft. But she is maturing quite a bit this year and loves being a big sister to the little one. But, boy, does she have a TEMPER :furious: She is also my homebody. She loves to be home with us and hates sleeping over at friends etc. She is a special little girl and I can't wait to celebrate her birthday on the cruise on Cabo day. We have a private sailing charter booked for the day. They are going to decorate the sailboat for her birthday too. I really really hope we can get into port that day!!!!

Anyway, my advice with the kids is to just enjoy them, they really grow up so quickly. Take the time to treasure them while you can!

Okay, done being cheesy! Have a great day everyone, I am going to buy a dress from David's Bridal and look into tuxes for the boys, I have been motivated by everyone's discussions in the past few days!

I love that your oldest 3 help each other out! I think that says alot about the parents -- Dsis has 5 with the oldest 3 being 23,22 & 19. And her 3 older ones probably only speak/see each other at family holidays. :sad2: My sister was never about *family unity*. It has always been *everyone for themselves* mentality. It is truly sad.

Oh, I also never heard of Sam Moons, so I looked it up! They have a website for anyone interested, I found some pretty tiaras for under $20!

www.sammoon.com

17dd and I were *cruising* the site last night!! ::yes::

I like bacon... specially crispy bacon!

So we always laugh... We live in a GREAT outdorsy area with lots of hiking and biking trails and very difficult ones at that. But we have a ton of workout places. I for one get so bored in a workout place...

I bought a new bike this past weekend!!!

Oooh, I might have to get back there while I am in Dallas. MIL, SIL and I took a day trip a couple of years ago and went to Sam Moon, IKEA and had lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Now I have IKEA and Cheesecake Factory locally, so I only have to stop at Sam Moon. Got a really cute angel bracelet there. I will have to find it for this trip. It will go with my "Princess" dress. Then all I will need is a tiara...and the room to pack all this stuff.:lmao:

I still intend to call you if I can work things out for next Thursday. Talked to SIL last night and my FIL has all kinds of things planned for DH while we are at the scrapbook retreat. We are leaving for the retreat on Friday morning and won't be back until Sunday evening.

I look forward to hopefully hearing from you!!! If I don't I hope you have a great time at the retreat!!!

QUESTION????

What are the men wearing for semi-formal night????? :confused3 :confused3 On our 10 Wonder Cruise.......everyone was dressed just like formal night!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Formal night, DS will be in a tux. Semi-formal, dress shirt and tie, haven't decided if I'll get him a dinner jacket or not.

I guess they put in buffer days so they don't have to add if we have snow days. My thought was - if that's the case, then they could have decided to shorten the year in mid-March when we aren't likely to have any more snow days, right? I guess not. They are closing early to save money. What they are really doing is passing those costs on to parents and the county. Our county-run after school program, held at the school, is going to be open those days. It took them 3 days to decide that.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Martinis and Pinocchio's pizza?

OMG did you see the thread last week about the calorie count on one of those?? I'm gonna need a bigger formal.

NEVER look at a thread that is titled Calorie Count. Seriously, I saw that thread and just moved on, never even opened it.

Wow that is beautiful!! You are getting me to think that I want one for me and my girls too! :yay:

Go for it Michelle. There's already over 25 of us that have said we're doing the tiaras. You can find really inexpensive ones at Claires or Icing. Then there's always ebay.

As Chris and Wendy have noted, we want to be at the port early. Once we get the first few cruises underway we will know what time they will let us there. It's about 40 minutes to the port from DL, and we will allow for the one stop for liquor/water/soda. The time we leave for the port will be dictated that those constraints, but Chris was letting people know the cost. It's also important for people to respond about paypal, because we do plan to require payment in advance. Once we have more details, Wendy (smeecanada) will PM everyone who has contacted her and expressed interest, and also post official notices.

Sorry, didn't realize the importance of responding. Paypal is fine for me.

Most likely I'll actually hand deliver to Chris but thought I'd get my approval in there.

We really want to go see the cliff divers. What are the negative reviews on this one? The divers or the shopping? Right now this one is sold out so I can't even try to get it on Monday when I can finally book!Oooh let us know how Sex and The City is! I used to love the show on HBO, but expect to be disappoinited by the movie!
:(

They said the divers were ok but someone tripped over all the camera crews cords and broke their wrist and they said they had to wait in the hot sun for a long time.

Huuummmm!!!! Cheesecake Factory!
yeah but none are in stock :worried:

I added to my shopping cart and got to checking out before I exited. You sure?

. We're thinking maybe of just skipping the dining rooms on formal nights.

Maybe we should have a non-conforming dinner at Topsider's that night. We're in the same boat - might be able to convince DH to bring the suit but a tux - no way.

You have us on your list, right?
I'm fine with paying via paypal. :)

Yes, Bip you are on the list. 5 @ Hojo's!

Does anyone think there will be any coverage of the Olympics while we are onboard? I know we won't get regular TV channels, but don't they sometimes have some big sporting events shown?

I'm pretty sure they'll have coverage in Diversions. I've seen people ask about the Dumbotron, not sure if they'll show it out there or not.

We had Open House at DS's school last night. Finally met the principal. DS has only been at this school since Feb. Turns out the principal was my 11th grade US History teacher. Thought about bringing up TOAL, but didn't. However when speaking with DS's teacher, I told her about TOAL and missing the first 4 days. DS will have the same teacher next year. She didn't see a problem with it. And when I told her about the journals, she said that would be perfect for Independent Study. She told me to talk to the Attendance Office and let them know that she has approved him for 4 days of Independent Study for the first week of school next year.

That is great Monica

That's perfect for Independent Study. We always go to Disneyland in December. Wasn't a problem when they were in grade school which is year-round and we had December off but now that they are in middle school we do Independent Study for those days that they miss and my boys HATE IT! My oldest told me he didn't want to miss school any more to go to Disneyland. (I'm trying to figure out who's kid he is - not wanting to go to Disneyland :scared1: )

Congrats on the milestones! There are a lot of us hitting the big 4 0 this year (I do on Monday:scared1:), my DH also hit his 5 years ago and we're celebrating our 16th anniversary in Oct.

:worried: DH and I might have to find the shunned section of the ship for this one ... he hit the 4 0 last year(not there yet myself and fighting it every step of the way), and we're only going to be celebrating our 15th Anniversary this year. We're ahead, and yet we're behind
