On another note - I asked a client about the ballroom under the stars on the WB and he said they didn't have it and when they asked the crew no one new anything about it. He thought it may have been cancelled due to it being windy on that last formal night but nothing special happened

I've heard it was due to the winds. Supposedly they moved it down to..hmm...I think the Atrium...maybe Promenade...but it wasn't very well attended.

Well, baring a h******* or a t******* s**** (I refuse to even TYPE those words! - Tom's luck has to break sometime doesn't it? :rotfl2: ) we should have better weather in the Caribbean compared to out in the Pacific. Do we have anyone who is good at getting info out of DCL who might be able to find out more about what "Ballroom under the Stars" should be?

Does anyone know much about Mexican night? I've got Palo's planned for dinner - if it is just the theme for dinner, I don't really mind missing it (we have great Mexican food here at home) but if its a big deal then maybe I'm going to have to try and change things around ...

Pirates Continuing thru the Caribbean

Those that are continuing on the 5 day cruise after the PC cruise please check in here
Pirates Continuing thru the Caribbean

Maybe we can discuss somethings we would like to do or not to do , I for one am still debating wether or not to bring the Captain out for Pirate Night ...

Also , what do you think about us making T-S***'s that are similar to the ones from this cruise that say " Pirates Continuing thru the Caribbean" :confused3 :confused3

pirate:

Come on, Todd . . . we already discussed this and the Captain has to appear again on the 5 night . . .

Love the new thread! I will check in over there.

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!! - THEME NIGHTS ANNOUNCED

Formal nights - days 2 and 14 - at sea days (Aug 18 and 30)
Night 14 is the Ballroom under the stars night

Mexican deck party - day 6 - Acapulco (Aug 22)
Semi Formal - day 8 - at sea (Aug 24)
Tropical night - day 10 - Cartagena (Aug 26)
Pirate night - day 13 - at sea (Aug 29)

Hurray!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Jo!

 On the first formal night - it's our VR night and I was bummed that I was gonna be so dressed up when others weren't!

Semi-formal is our Palo night so that's good for us.

Pirate night at sea? Does that mean no fireworks? (I have only been on one pirate night cruise - sorry!)

There will be fireworks! They don't have to bring them on and use them right away because they had pirates night after many days at sea across the Atlantic last year on the Med repo . . .

CRUISE QUESTION

For those of you that have gotten facials onboard which one did you have and how did you like it?
I usually like to get one on a cruise after being in the sun so much

On another note - I asked a client about the ballroom under the stars on the WB and he said they didn't have it and when they asked the crew no one new anything about it. He thought it may have been cancelled due to it being windy on that last formal night but nothing special happened

I had a package on the Med repo last year . . . a series of three and they were all different but seriously they were all relaxing and left my skin looking nice, so it probably doesn't matter which one you get!

I read on one of the TRs that the Ballroom under the Stars was brought inside because of bad weather and then no one went because it was inside.

How many times will we see fireworks?

Just the one time at Pirate's night, unless one of the ports does something special for us (which seems unlikely).

Wow..DCL finally gave us some news! I think this deserves a possum! (an opossum for Cheryl!) :drinking1 and some :cake:

A round of possum, please!!!!!!!!!!

sorry about no pictures but here is the one for the 5 day .....maybe ...if you guys ike it ...

I love, love, love that banner . . .:thumbsup2

Thanks! The only one I was on before was a 7 day in Mexico and the CM told us that they had to pick up the firworks that day and shoot them off that night (hence..I thought they couldn't travle very far with them). On that cruise..they went off of the starboard side..which is where we are but then we would miss all the fun stuff on deck!

On a side note..I went to order the holders for our name tags only to find out that the company is about 2 miles from my house..so I get to save money on the shipping (score) and go get them! They also had lanyards but the cost was more then the company I went with plus a set up fee (it came out to about $2.50 a lanyard). the company I went with the cost was $1 each with no set up and free shipping..so I went with that. :woohoo:

Thanks. for your hard work.

Shuttle is going up on Saturday. Buzz Lightyear is flying with them. He is finally getting to go to outer space. :goodvibes

A lot of buz is also surrounding another character. Disney's Buzz Lightyear will blast off as the newest piece of the Toys In Space program. After the launch, children can log on to NASA.gov's Kids' Club and play games tied directly to Discovery's mission.

"We've been working with NASA to create online educational games any kid can play and it's tied directly to each component of the mission," Disney spokeman Duncan Wardle said.

The launch is slated for 5:02 p.m. Saturday.

We may drive out to see the launch.Hope the weather is good.

Hello Folks,

I have information on 3 different tours from Mr. Emerald. I am still waiting on 2 others and then I will post them all at once. Sorry it has taken what seems like forever, but I have been working on it. :goodvibes

Wow. Things are starting to happen fast now. First the theme nights (thanks, GA9497) and now Mr. Emerald. :cool1:

Laura, might be able to tell us something about them. I think I read somewhere that the Ballroom under the Stars was moved due to the weather and then noone participated.

I think the Mexician Deck Party is an afternoon thing. Could be wrong though :confused3

Pamela we have dinner at the same time that night and I am hoping that we can do both. I assume that like pirate: night it would start after late dining and show. Doesn't pirate: night start around 9:30 :confused3 . That would mean we could do dinner, change and head up for Mexican Night.

Tom, Mike and myself will have to find something new to write to DCL about now. :rolleyes1

Just a question..were they able to give you a cabin number on the deck 7 cabins? or just gty? I have been trying to move my Mom but DCL insists they can't give me a cabin number (she does already have one on deck 6)..just curious

Yes, they gave us a cabin number. Thru TA, not DCL directly.

I'm seeing myself quoted for posts that I have not made.

Either I'm schizophrenic and don't know about it, or something is amiss with the quote function.

But Crash you missed the most important rock image for us wenchs....

"THE ROCK"

rkcvlg_rk-7277r.jpg
Okay now THAT rock I wouldn't mind getting.........
:rotfl2:

Haven't been around much this week so haven't caught up completely. Too many "honey do's"! Have seen some of the WB comments, especially about Alcapulco (bad) and PV ziplines (good). Not sure what we're going to do about the cliff diving. At lease we're on the one without shopping.

Has anyone seen any Navigators from the WB posted yet? If so, could you post a link? Thanks in advance!

I'm still crossing my fingers that SW holds out on this as we'll have more than 1 checked bag per person!!

I'm glad it's been slow -- easier for ketchup!!:)
Ditto- atleast we're signed up for the cliff diving without the shopping. But I really don't see what else we CAN do at that port since we're there for such a short time- besides just going shopping by ourselves? and we're not big on shopping really.

Do you mind my asking....how did you move one of your staterooms?

We have been booked since day 1, and still do not have stateroom assignments. Did you just call DCL directly, or was your TA able to do it?

It was done thru our TA. When I saw all the cabins available after final payment I emailed her and asked if it was possible to move their cabin closer to ours, since it has our kids in it...LOL Although they are 23,22, 17 and 9...but still, I'd feel better about them being closer to us. They emailed me back within a few days saying it was handled and gave us the new cabin #.

Nope. Also no food inc formula (powder or liquid).

From MousePlanet:
Shipping restrictions appear to mirror TSA/airline restrictions. So no foods, liquids or powders. I realize that most things you carry on will need to be carried off. But if you're travelling with young kids and want to pre-ship diapers or other disposables, it may be an option.

They accept UPS and USPS, but prefer UPS.

Andy

:scared1: That's what we ship!!! Youngest dd (7 on the cruise) will only eat a few things......I really want her to eat more then french fries & ice cream for 15 days!!!!

Ok, I've just got ONE thing to say about this picture ... yum.

Any Stephanie Plum fans out there that see The Rock every time she describes Ranger :confused3

May I add double yum!!!:thumbsup2

Here are some ideas, hope it helps :)

candy
chocolates
gum
notepads
pens/pencils
keyrings
glow sticks/necklaces/bracelets
fancy drinking straws
party favours
something from your state/town
trinkets/nicnacs
stickers
something useful for travel such as sample sized items
small toys & games
postcards
pirate stuff
magnetic photo frames
anything Disney
magnets

Wow!!! Great list Paula!!:worship: :worship:

Order your T-shirts and related stuff ASAP

I did!!!

Let everyone know what you are doing and see others who are doing your excursions.

I did!!!!

The only recommendation I would make is for the deck plan graphic be done at the very end -- once we have all the cabin numbers -- to reduce confusion. Disfreaks has also volunteered to help with this project. Perhaps we could have a few people who are willing to work on it, and then the end of July get it done after one last push to get all the cabin numbers in, and it can be on the pirate zone for downloading even if there is no room in the navigator.

Sounds like a plan since there could be many changes in rooms!!:cool1: :cool1:

Exactly. At one time my daughter and I had a "game" going of who we would cast as each of the characters. I know she doesn't act anymore but the lady who played Sophia on Golden Girls would be great as Grandma! There is heated debate over Stephanie and her policeman boyfriend (brain fart, can't recall his name).

Well I am starting to get things done:
1. sent Esteri my check for the t-****s pirate:
2. ordered printable magnetic paper online for my door signs:surfweb:
3. bought a sewing machine so I can finish my dress for formal night :goodvibes
4. found a dress for Princess night (still need to shorten it):cool1:
5. got my FE done and have ideas for the gifts;)

Now, the list of still to do is considerably longer. And DH's list doesn't have anything marked off (not that I let him do much).

You are too organized!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

no one here we have falling to the middle of the page i will bump it up

OMGolly!!!

Thanks so much.

I will have some pictures to share later.

I just want to share this one with you all right now. It comes with a story.

Whenever I am going on vacation (to Disney, of course! :) ), I always tell the people that I am going to go away for a week of therapy to the Orlando Clinic with Dr. Mickey and Nurse. Well, look what one of the parishioners made for me:

clinic.jpg

Very cute Father Mike!!! You must be well loved by your parishioners!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Oh yes . . . I would have to agree with that.

Except for the minority. And it's always those few voices that any of us hear from more than all the ones who like us.

But, I think that's the case in any job/profession. The whiners and complainers . . . seems everyone knows them.

I guess you can't do my trick..... Whenever I am in charge of an activty and people complain or make *suggestions* to me..... I take out my notebook and pen and say *Great idea. I'll be sure to let everyone know that next time you want to be in charge.* Shuts them up really fast....... ::yes::

Thanks to everyone who answered my question about the Disney Stores - i amy go back this weekend to see what they have left. I may ask the lady who is always in there just what will happen to our local store - it will be sad to see it go.

My son is almost 13 and swam for about 5 years year round then decided he didn't want to do it anymore. DD is 9 is she loves swimming, she does only summer swim. I am on our swim team board, I do all the concessions and fundraising so I have been really busy with all that stuff as well as school. Its fun though and the kids have a lot of fun too - its great to have a neighborhood team that my kids can swim on!

I would love to chat with you. We have been notified that our pool will shut down due to district budget cuts on Aug. 31. We are attempting to raise $350,000 before then. Not too much of an undertaking considering we just found out in late April and thought we were fine for this year until then. My kids swim year round as well. DD 13 has been swimming for 5 years, DD10 has been swimming for 3. Outdoor meets are fun in the summer.

Hi Everyone! This is my first post on this meet. We will be sailing with you all. We are a family of 4. My husband and myself and we have a boy(9) and a
girl(7). I have been lurking and have been encouraged to join the meet, so I am giving it a try. We have all our excursions booked and we are in a cat 6 gty. We have late dining but are wait listed for early. Is there any family out there who knows if you can share a table. On our past Disney cruise we were seated at a table for 4. I think it could be fun to sit with other people on such a long trip. Is there somewhere that the kids can meet (e-mail etc).
Thanks, hope to talk to you all!

Welcome!!! My 10ds is on the kid meet thread! His name is Elvis!

I know I'm way behind, but I had to comment anyway. Our DS's arm breaks do sound similar. DS actually broke his arm on a neighbor's trampoline. He and another neighbor boy were jumping together and my DS was either pushed accidentally or jumping too close to the edge...not sure but he fell off the side and landed on his arm. The really bad thing about this was the neighbor whose house we were at happened to be an ER doctor. Yet, he had no net around the trampoline AND he had the trampoline pushed up against a wrought iron fence (think spikes! :scared1: ) on the one side. Fortunately, that is not the side DS fell off of. I still shudder to think about what might have happened had he fallen off where the fence was. :scared1: DH and I were really surprised that, being an ER doc, he would have such an unsafe condition in his own backyard!
Kim

There is an ER Dr. that lives across the street from us and we were so surprised that they have a swimming pool & a trmpoline -- their 3 children are 5 and under.

Speaking of "a place kids can meet" i was wondering myself which thread young kids could join.......my DD9 (9 1/2 acutally) could really enjoy typing some simple/fun messages but not sure which thread is appropriate for the young ones vs. the teens......anyone who knows pass it on....I'd be grateful!

There is a kids meet thread for this cruise on the Dis under cruise meets.

I posted on main cruise board that I was disappointed that my Palo reservation was the same day/night as the Mexican Deck Party and the response was "You will not miss much". :confused3 I asked for more info.

Thanks! I know I have time to cancel it..just thought I would give it up now so someone can grab it if they want it. Decided to do the rainforest instead..somewhere to hide out and escape!

I love the Rainforest Room. On the 10 Day cruise it was $99 for an unlimited pass. I wonder what they will charge for the 15 Day?

OMG me too.. i have been trying to be more midship.. since i booked opening morning.. I think that DCL wants to keep me and my very low rate in the less favorable cabin and let another higher priced persons/ more profitable get the better location..

Trying to discern the workings of the wizards in revenue management is as challenging as interpreting the mystic ramblings of the Oracle of Delphi.

Do they assign cabins based on the inscrutable working of super-computers, endlessly pondering the image of Mickey swimming?

Do they use the same Bingo callers who later appear on the ship holding the hope of thousands of dollars, which ultimately ends up in the hands of some stranger, the subject if whispered tails for the remainder of the cruise?

Or do they listen to the blessings of the employees from the fairy-godmother department, bestowing upgrades on the worthy and deserving?

We supplicants must resign ourselves to living with the mystery, waiting until the day that they will touch our reservation, remove our GTY status, and grant us a "home" on the ship.... :worship:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I have know idea what the method to their madness is. I was GTY status for about 6 months. I got a cabin assignment and asked to get it moved. I was surprised that I was put on hold and re-assigned a cabin in the area I wanted. The Cabin Fairy was smiling down upon me that day, I tell ya :tink:
