$55 - $75?!?!? That's a bit rich for my cheap-skate blood. I'm afraid I'm gonna be coming to the PJ breakfast in something a little bit cheaper. You suppose I could get Alicia into this pirate themed "sleeping outfit"?

Good morning neighbors!

We're back from Vegas... well actually we were back approximately 24 hours ago - but I took a bit of today to take a nap in the afternoon - then promptly upon waking up my dear spouse hustled me out with the kids to hit Macy's before they closed! She found what I thought was a stunning polka dotted dress and a fun bright red dress with patent black belt and big shiney black buttons. What do you figure the odds are I'll find any images that resemble these two items? Let me see what a few minutes searching turn up....

DR-004.1E.jpg

OK.... I've scanned 2200 images using varied combinations of search words - and came up with these 3 images which are similar to it. It has a fitted look of the BLACK dresses here but the look of the shoulders below right and the overall appearance similar to the image with a black patent belt with black buttons of the red dress above:

And the polka dotted dress is VERY fitted and resembles this image below. I found this image after scanning fewer then 500 images. It had a V shaped front and fit her like a glove. I liked it while the kids sort of giggled over it when asked what they thought.

.

OK,

I just found out Alicia pulled a switch-er-ooo on me. She did NOT get thast polka dot pattern dres which was soooo perfect. It turns out it was NOT on sale - so she put it back while she waits patiently for it to go on sale. And she substituted a black dress instead. The total value at original retail was something like $275 and she paid $38 + tax for about $40-41. Here are a couple images of her modeling the two dresses purchased:

I think the black dress is made by "Tahari" and is far more flattering in real life then it seems in the photo. The red dress is "smoking" in real life too - more so than this photo can possibly convey.

I wasn't one of the ones commenting, so no, probably not. The rest of you are 'great minds' -- my mind, meanwhile is totally fried. I'm on the left coast this week (Bay Area) and my mind says it is 11PM but my workload says, 'finish your presentation for tomorrow, stupid'. So instead I am surfing the tubes as a compromise. I am neither in bed, nor working....

Poor J.R. We all have days like that. Sure do miss you not going on the TOAL!!:(

Tell Alicia she looks great in both of them!!!:thumbsup2 Hi Tom!!:wave2:

I just went to the main chat boards , got a designer to put my names in a design. I trnasformed them on to the transfer paper(I used white)and printed them (make shure you reverse the image before printing). I bought t** s**** at Jo Anns to for $5.00. I put a board under the shirt and ironed thr transfers on. Not too hard but I almost burnt one of the transfers. The iron has to be really hot but not too hot that it will burn the ttransfer paper. I know have two shirts for about $8.00. I did buy the black shirts for Sail-Away party!!:woohoo:
Wow, you make it sound so easy!
Okay so a couple of questions please.
Who was the designer and I wonder how I might find them?
You "transformed them" onto the transfer paper? gotta teach me how to transform- I have no idea what you mean!
Where did you get the white transfer paper? And does that mean it only works on white shirts or else white would show around the image if it was on a colored shirt?

I got the kids shirts in white and black for ONE DOLLAR (dollah..... for real! LOL) at the dollar store. I'd love to be able to make them shirts like this! Or you know- simliar to this... designed and all that. :)

As I mentioned above we ran into DISer Seaulater on the dock yesterday afternoon. She had just gotten off the boat yesterday morning and we got to chat. She said that once you got on board, there was no problem getting any Palo reservations including Panama Canal day. Guess that they held most of the reservations back. There were plenty of pins go go around. They still had pins available on the last day. Ducky Williams will be on the EB with us. Panama canal experience was awesome with the sub. Also there was no problem getting spa ressies once on board. I will remember more later.

OK, I give. Who's Ducky Williams??
I'll just wander over to the shunned part of the ship now....

We would have loved it! Unfortunately..we leave on the 16th for a trip to Yellowstone and WA state.

Hey! We're going to Yellowstone and WA too! We leave July 5th though. Will you still be travelling? something makes me thing we're going to be chasing you - no chance to meet. :(

For my birthday (yesterday) DH got me the topographical maps for Yellowstone and Olympic. And, this cool gizmo called SPOT. It's basically a GSP tracking gadget, you push a button and it'll tell people where you are. Comes with a handy 911 feature too - in case of emergencies. He wants to know where the boys and I are during our 5-week trek. Isn't that sweet? :goodvibes (Hey! who moved the smilies around - and where's the pirate?)

You can check it out at http://www.onebag.com

This is a really cool site. I think I spent the better part of an hour there, and at various other links. Thanks for sharing.

Has anyone hear of or own a "Tilley" hat?
I saw one yesterday at REI and really liked it- until I saw that it was $72.00! :faint:

Have you tried Campmor.com? We get a lot of our gear there.

Go the the main chat board on the Disboard and go into Creative DISigns. It is almost at the bottom of the page. The thread is just above Technical Support. I chose one of the designers and asked her to make the image. I downloaded the images the designers made. All the directions are in the"post it" at the top of the page. Transfer paper comes in black or white. I purchased mine over internet. I also read it can be bought at Walmart. If I can learn from just reading the post...anyone can do it. As everyone knows...I have very little knowlege of the computer. If I can do it......anyone can!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Okay, then he definitley won't feel lonely. I'm hoping he makes some friends right at the beginning and lets me have some time at the spa and adult pool, I mean has lots of fun in the kids club. :rotfl:

My son is 6 too. I am hoping if he had some kids that he knew a little bit, he will be more prone to spending time in the club. The last time, he hardly wanted to go at all and we had to bribe him! :scared1: What the????
I guess that goes to show us what happens if we take him on 2 longer DCL cruises within 6 months?

I just knew that this would not be a problem. I never once worried about getting a brunch reservation, even on my birthday... in fact, I am already planning on it. So on the 90 day booking fright night, I was not quite so stressed because I knew I could always get Palo onboard. At least based on the med repo (2007), it wasn't a problem. Its good to hear it from someone on the WB though.
I cruised with Linda on the WB med repo, and had many informative conversations with her. She is a pro! I miss alot of those disers....I would tell you to tell her hi, but I am too late....lol

Looks like you will be chasing us! We get home on June 27th...

Wow..just looked at availability.. our Cat 5 for 2A and 1C (11) is currently $2750 more then we paid! :scared1:

That's really scary!

I am reading a TR from the EB Repo and found this:

There were upgrades available, although since we needed 2 connecting cabins it didn't matter to us. Other DISers did upgrade. They had a suite available, although I never found out what one (I do know it was a Cat. 3). Cat. 4, 5, and I think 6 or 8 were available. I was surprised as I figured there would have been nothing available. The upgrades went fast.

Wow...I would have thought the ship was sold out.

Yes, prices went up. If you look at the rates range for our cruise, you'll see that current pricing is actually higher than the max rate listed by from $100-$200 per person.

However, part (most?) of this can be probably attributed to the fuel surcharge of $112/person ($42 for 3rd+ in a cabin), which I think is now being applied to the fare displayed.

Thank you all for your very kind wishes, thoughts and prayers for my Aunt over the last few days.

We had word a short while ago that my Aunt had finally passed away. A blessing for all. She'd been fairly unresponsive for around 4 days and in the last 24 hours had ceased all communications and gone into a seemingly deep sleep.

My Mum said she is looking forward to laying down in a real bed as she's been sitting and sleeping a plastic chair for the last 4 days without a break so she didn't have to leave my Aunt alone. She'd promised my Aunt to not leave and to be there stay until the very end.

Mum's hoping to return home at the weekend as she'll need a couple of nights good sleep before tackling a 24+ hour flight home.

Again thank you all!

Paula, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family :goodvibes
