Hi everyone!

Brendan and I went to CT for the weekend.saw Gloria Estefan for FREE at the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods....then we went into Hartford and went to this cool museum...lots of toys and memorabilia...LOTS of Disney stuff it was so much fun....

Hopefully I didn't miss anything too important OR get volunteered for anything!

Chrissie

You just volunteered to take over My bar tab and everyone else's.:listen: :listen: My favortie is Champagne!!!:hyper: :hyper:

About a week. Serious as a Heart Attack!
So you knew DH one month before you married him:scared1:
I've heard of that with 2 other couples and they both are doing well too. I guess sometimes you just know:confused3

Sorry I had to jump out of chat yesterday, a visitor turned up then we ended up going out for the evening.

This past week has been a little eventful to say the least...

My aunt (Mum's sister) in the UK has been unwell for sometime and was diagnosed with anorexia - she's in her 70's, they couldn't find anything physically wrong. They finally admitted her to a psychiatric facility and gave her another batch of tests and found it actually wasn't all in her head, she has pancreatic cancer which had already spread to her liver. This was last weekend they finally diagnosed that... and by this stage she was so weak and sick they couldn't even move her to a hospice - they gave her 2 months max to live.

I was then working away in Auckland, Monday-Thursday, and once I arrived in Auckland, one of the first emails from Mum was that she was catching the first flight to the UK on Monday evening - she always said she'd never go back to the UK for a funeral but was hoping she could at least see her sister before she passed.

I then got promoted at work on Friday - finally - good news!

I also on Friday spoke to my brother and he said the title for the property is now done so we should hear from the lawyers this week about buying the land in the country - only been waiting since Christmas for this.

Mum emailed to say she would be coming home next Thursday but we got another message this morning saying that she was at her sister's bedside as at this stage they were talking hours to live.

If you are religious feel free to say a small prayer for my Aunt for a swift and painless passing. That is all I am wishing for her at this moment. Although she lives in England, I have very fond memories of her when we visited and I will be sad to know I won't see her again.

A real week of ups and downs.
Congrats on the promotion and we will also keep your family in our prayers as well:hug:

I got you beat. We lived together for 11 years before we got married.
We had bought a house, had 2 kids-and then remembered we forgot to get married along the way. That was 8 years ago so we have been together almost 20 years now. :)
Wow:eek: I guess it was it's safe to say it's going to last;)

I did the same thing when I first joined;) Called it a mini-pirate:confused3

Thanks... Can you guys tell us what these each entail? I get the formal and semi-formal and pirate nights... What's a tropical or Mexican fiesta night?
Andrew would be the one to really comment on this but he is in Paris. I think they will be pretty much what they say they are. Mexican Fiesta Night could be a mariaci band with a buffet of Mexican food and desserts. Tropical night may be a steel band playing with tropical buffet and desserts. We could basically have any kind of night with a buffet and desserts.

Very nice Cheryl

So is there a buffet and desserts every night? Geesh I'm gonna have to diet after the cruise since I really have a sweet tooth!

I am just speculating on the buffets but would not be surprised. Including the one on pirate night, that would only be 3. I think we all will have to be doing some dieting after this cruise :rotfl:

OK ladies...formal shopping...
Am I the only one who can't find anything between skanky and frumpy??
I'm too old for one, too young for the other & regardless, my style is firmly planted between the two. :)

I'm wearing a dress I already have (and love) for Princess Night, but I'm looking for another. I stopped in David's Bridal today and found 2 that were decent on me. What do you think? Too bridesmaid??

Sorry, one comes out a photo & the other doesn't, but the link works. I look decent in this color and it goes with sunburn! I love red, but doesn't work with cruise sunburn.
They are both beautiful and love the color as well. The second one looks more comfortable-so that is what I would choose:confused3

Good question!!! :thumbsup2 No allergies and I  love candy.....any kind of candy!!!;)
Cheesecake hershey kisses, right Cheryl;)

Just wondering what people have been getting for the flight back to Los Angeles from MCO? Usually I get round-trips, so I'm not positive of what to expect on the one-way. So far I get AA at $214 (ugh) or SW at $99 if we leave 2 days later.
We got $169 for VA to La on Virgin America. Jet Blue was closer to $249 last time I checked. Not sure if that is comparable to flying out of MCO:confused3

Having read Laura's trip review about the Sierra Madre hike, I've come to realize that we all really need a translation guide for the Disney excursion descriptions. I humbly offer a beginning:

(note - yes, I'm a wimp and do tend to book DCL excursions. Sure they cost more, but it's peace of mind and low stress I'm buying - but knowing hot to read the descriptions definitely helps :cool2: ).
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Loved this:thumbsup2

The girls, dogs and I are headed out to Connecticut to spend some time with friends who have a country house there. We will be back later tomorrow.

I will post the FE notice and list again in a moment, and will post it again with corrections when I get back, but the number of additions is becoming very small. I do believe I will be able to make a push over the next week for a final list (except for cabin numbers) completed by June 6 or 7.

I don't know what to say about people who join the thread closer to time and want to join in -- perhaps let them do so and just let people know that if they already prepared things for the previous number, that is fine, too.

Everyone have fun and happy memorial day tomorrow!

Hope your day was great Julie:yay:

So then this thread turns into a "Post-Cruise Dieters Support Group" afterwards then? :lmao:

Sounds good to me. Kevin was just saying he doesn't know what I'm going to do with my time after this cruise is over....I'll be going through chat withdrawl!:(

KSDisneyDad is my husband and since this is all he talks about, well, I thought I would join in. It's like the Disboards are my competition! I have been busy putting our house together. Twenty-three gallons of paint so far! Four rooms, three bathrooms and a laundry room to go. I will be spending my entire summer finishing the house and getting ready for the big trip. I am looking forward to spending some time getting to know people. It feels strange to be the one that doesn't know people because Christopher is the quiet one and I am the talker! I will try to get a better picture of us posted soon.
Hi June:yay: WELCOME ABOARD:banana:

*Update* I won it!! :yay: With shipping included: $34.50. Add alterations at around $35.00....I can live with that.
Congrats Deb:woohoo:

OMG the WB'ers are already back?
wow that went fast. :( I hope ours doesn't seem to go that fast! :scared1:
Yeah, that's what I'm worried about as well:worried:

For those who died to keep us free and
for those who grieve the lost of loved ones,
we remember.

:thumbsup2

Well.... only a little! :lmao: I'm blaming him more for the laughing at me part! DS9 will make a good husband someday - he told DH to "stop laughing and make sure Mom is OK!"

Pamela

Ooooo, I like your DS:thumbsup2 , maybe I can introduce him to my DD11;)

So then this thread turns into a "Post-Cruise Dieters Support Group" afterwards then? :lmao:

Oh that is so true.. after 2 weeks of eating and eating and drinking.. roll me off the ship... but wait there could be a plus to that.. If i am too fat to fit throught the door off the ship, I get to stay and go on the 5 day cruise.. :-) :thumbsup2 what a thought!!!

i am back from boy scouting.. whew I am tired.. but i went out and bought UV protection capris and tops for the cruise.. Saw those pictures where people were lobstered and fried.. and so as much as i love to be outside, thought I'd be protected.. not very attractive but SPF 30..

Cheryl - those shirts are really cute.. wow i am so impressed that you made them... ( what will it cost for you to make us a set too) Just kidding.. unless you really want to..

Good Evening Everyone,
I have a question for all of those that are participating in the Fish Extender Mail (gifting). Does anyone in your cabin have any allergies such as nut allergies? This would be very important to know for those of us that maybe putting candy in our gift bags.

This is a great question! DW Linda is deathly allergic to oats, oatmeal, oat flour, etc. As in the ER in anaphylactic shock allergic. So we wouldn't be able to accept any granola type snacks or a lot of body lotions.

Thanks for asking.

VOTE BALLROOM UNDER THE STARS
If you are not with us, you are against us.

Folks in Chicago, you know how this works, vote early and often.

Where can I apply to become a super deligate?

Offer not available in Michigan and Florida.
Or the District of Columbia home of taxation without representation.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

DD3 update, we are watching Enchanted and she says in her tiny little voice..."Why is she human? She is supposed to be aminated". Who knew she knew what "human" was and her version of the word animated is so very cute. Kids are so darn funny!

As I mentioned above we ran into DISer Seaulater on the dock yesterday afternoon. She had just gotten off the boat yesterday morning and we got to chat. She said that once you got on board, there was no problem getting any Palo reservations including Panama Canal day. Guess that they held most of the reservations back. There were plenty of pins go go around. They still had pins available on the last day. Ducky Williams will be on the EB with us. Panama canal experience was awesome with the sub. Also there was no problem getting spa ressies once on board. I will remember more later.
Thanks Roger:thumbsup2 Loved your pics and the shirt looks great:cool2:

Wow, someone (unidentified) is working at DCL today! So here is their response today.

I am definitely on their trouble-maker list. :lmao:
Apparently:rotfl2:

maybe someday we will find out about what days are what on the cruise.it might not be to we are on the ship
Seems like it is taking forever:confused3

Interesting theory. I tend to pack light if there is a Target (or possibly WalMart) near my destination. For a 15 night cruise, I'll need one bag just for emergency supplies, or be prepared to pay $6 for 3 band-aids at the gift shop.
I also prefer to have first aid supplies with me on the cruise than go looking for them. Headaches and sea sickness seem to respond better if treated quickly.

We did these this morning!!! I think they turned out okay!!!:cool1:
They came out great Cheryl:thumbsup2
